49ers vs Chiefs Predictions Split Down the Middle
Of our six sourced Super Bowl LVIII score predictions, three are in favor of the 49ers and three are in favor of the Chiefs.
Favoring San Francisco are Dratings, Sports Betting Dime, and Wunderdog, while Dunkel Index, GameSim, and OddsShark favor Kansas City.
In the regular season, the Niners faced five AFC teams, winning twice and losing three times.
San Francisco 49ers vs the AFC in the 2023 NFL Regular Season
- Pittsburgh Steelers (Week 1 – away): Won 30-7
- Cleveland Browns (Week 6 – away): Lost 19-17
- Cincinnati Bengals (Week 8 – home): Lost 31-17
- Jacksonville Jaguars (Week 10 – away): Won 34-3
- Baltimore Ravens (Week 16 – home): lost 33-19
On the other side, the Chiefs also went 2-3 in their five games against the NFC.
Kansas City Chiefs vs the NFC in the 2023 NFL Regular Season
- Detroit Lions (Week 1 – home): Lost 21-20
- Chicago Bears (Week 3 – home): Won 41-10
- Minnesota Vikings (Week 5 – away): Won 27-20
- Philadelphia Eagles (Week 11 – home): Lost 21-17
- Green Bay Packers (Week 13 – away): Lost 27-19
Entering this season, the Chiefs had won 11 straight games against NFC opposition since losing to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV, but they fell to three of the NFC’s seven playoff teams this season, two at Arrowhead Stadium.
Still, Kansas City is 23-7 (.767) against the NFC since Patrick Mahomes became the team’s starting quarterback in the 2018 season.
Also, since the Raiders moved to Las Vegas in 2020, the Chiefs are 4-0 at Allegiant Stadium. That includes a 31-17 win in Week 12 this season.
It may be neither here nor there for this matchup, but Kansas City has scored 31 or more points in each of those games. So, if you are betting on their team total of 23.5, the over (-115 at BetOnline) might be your better bet. To counter that, the Chiefs have scored 24 or more points only eight times in 20 games this season, while the 49ers have allowed 24 or more points just four times in their 19 games this season.
