This Super Bowl 59 predictions and best NFL bets are brought to you by various sportsbooks, including Bovada. Bovada is a market leader in sports betting, offering various options from the 2024 NFL season to boxing and everything in between.
The 2023 NFL season is officially in the books after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers to win Super Bowl LVIII. Even though there’s still an entire football offseason to go through before the new campaign begins, that hasn’t stopped some NFL bettors from looking ahead to next year’s championship game.
After all, it’s never too early to lock those Super Bowl LIX bets in.

A lot can change in the coming months — especially with free agency and the 2024 NFL Draft around the corner — but that doesn’t mean we can’t look ahead.
Here’s a peek at the opening Super Bowl 59 odds, as well as two early betting picks that I like.

The reigning back-to-back champion Chiefs are the +500 to win Super Bowl LIX next February. It isn’t that surprising given that they’re the first consecutive champions in two decades, leaving time to tell if they can be the first franchise to win three Super Bowl titles in a row.
Kansas City has over $22.6 million in cap space to work with this offseason, however, they have key free agents to re-sign such as Chris Jones and Michael Danna. Having said that, more space can be freed up by restructuring contracts and trading away overpaid players — especially if the Chiefs believe that winning a third straight title is an achievable goal.
Considering how many people doubted them in the last two seasons only to be proven wrong, don’t be surprised if the Chiefs pull off a three-peat next season.
Nevertheless, here are my early Super Bowl 59 picks.
Early Super Bowl 59 Pick: Detroit Lions (+1200)
Much like the Chiefs, the Detroit Lions excelled at proving people wrong this year. After six straight seasons without a postseason appearance, the Lions finished the 2023 regular season with an NFC North-best 12-5 record, making the playoffs while winning their first division title since 1993.
Detroit’s success continued into the playoffs with back-to-back victories over the LA Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although Dan Campbell’s team couldn’t get past the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, the fact that the Lions only lost by three points proved that they’re ready to take the next step when it comes to being Super Bowl threats.
With this useful experience now under their belts, I see the Lions going all the way to win Super Bowl 59. They’ve improved with each passing season under Campbell, so winning a championship is the next logical threat.
Detroit owned the fifth-best offense in 2023, so improving the defense this offseason would bring the team one step closer to championship glory. Fortunately for them, the Lions have over $48.1 million in cap space to spend this offseason, per Spotrac. In other words, they could come back looking scarier than never this September.
Lock in the Lions for your Super Bowl LIX pick before their odds inevitably shorten once the 2024 NFL season begins.

Early Super Bowl 59 Dark Horse Pick: LA Rams (+3500)
It’s safe to say that NFL enthusiasts didn’t expect much from the LA Rams in 2023. After all, this was a team that had gone just 5-12 in the previous season and had little to no cap space to play around with.
But just like that, the Rams proved their doubters wrong, too, as a 10-7 record was good enough to return to the playoffs. The Rams, ultimately, fell to the Lions in the Wild Card Round, but a one-point loss was enough to have the fanbase feeling optimistic going forward — especially following breakout performances by the likes of Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams, who emerged as two of the NFL’s best wideouts and running backs, respectively.
The Rams now enter the offseason with a whopping $35.3 million to spend without needing many significant free agents that need to be re-signed. That’s without mentioning how they also have 10 draft picks to use in April with three of them taking place within the first 83 selections.
If general manager Les Snead hits with his draft picks and adds key free-agent names to help shore up the defense, I really like the Rams’ chances of winning Super Bowl LIX. Besides, it was only in 2022 that they were hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy, so it isn’t as if they’re that far removed from championship glory.
At the end of the day, keep an eye on the Rams during the 2024 NFL season as Super Bowl dark horses.
