Super Bowl LIX | Touchdown Scorers

Quick & (hopefully) Easy
First touchdown bets are some of the toughest to predict in the NFL but still somehow remains one of the funnest props on the board. Now, when the Super Bowl rolls around, that prop gets that much more meaningful; it’s the LAST, first touchdown of the year.
I’ve listed a couple of favorites below as well as the two guys I’m taking this Sunday. We’re laying a half unit down on each guy, if one hits we’ll profit a little and start Super Bowl LIX with a nice little win.
Betting Odds – First Touchdown Scorer
- Saquon Barkley (+420)
- Jalen Hurts (+600)
- Travis Kelce (+800)
- Kareem Hunt (+1000)
- Xavier Worthy (+1000)
- A.J. Brown (+1200)
- Patrick Mahomes (+2000)
- Dallas Goedert (+2000)
Jalen Hurts First Touchdown (+600)
This is about as chalky as you can get with a First Touchdown Prop, Jalen Hurts to rumble in for six to open up the scoring in Super Bowl LIX.
Two years ago, when these two met in the Super Bowl for the first time, Hurts scored 3 touchdowns and ran for 70 yards; also scoring the first touchdown of the game. Philadelphia opened the game with possession and marched down field in just 11 plays; taking just under 5 minutes to open the scoring via tush push.
Hurts also threw for over 300 yards, recorded a 103.9 QB rating and helped put up 30+ points on this Kansas City defense. He’s shown he’s capable of moving the ball and with Nick Sirianni’s propensity to go for it on 4th down, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Eagles score first in this one.

Kareem Hunt Anytime Touchdown (+150) | 1st TD (+1000)

Not only is Kareem Hunt one of my favorite touchdown scorers for Sunday, but I love the value on his first touchdown prop. Hunt has played in 6 career playoff games, scoring 7 rushing touchdowns and 1 touchdown through the air. He’s been the Chiefs most reliable running back this year and even more so in the post-season.
Hunt has scored in both playoff games for the Chiefs this year, also scoring first in both respective games. Hunt has out-carried Pacheco through their L2 games, 25-10 and he’s averaging 4.4 YPC; almost a full yard more than Pacheco.
Over the Chiefs last 5 games, Hunt is seeing about 40% of the redzone rush attamepts with Pacheco seeing even less redzone attempts (14%) than Mahomes. Last week saw Patrick Mahomes run in for two touchdowns, both from within 5 yards. The Eagles are well aware of his rushing ability and knowing Andy Reid, he’s got something else up his sleeve for this one.
In order to stop Saquon Barkley, you have to keep him off the field. The best way to do that is to keep your offense ON the field. The Chiefs will need Hunt’s 4.4 YPC average to help run clock and the fact Hunt hasn’t lost a fumble this year only helps his case.
In last year’s Super Bowl, Pacheco recorded 18 rush attempts for 59 yards, but also lost a fumble with ‘goal to go’ in the game’s 1st quarter. When near the goal line, that’s a risk Andy Reid just isn’t going to take again. Look for Hunt to dominate the snaps in the redzone, especially from within the 5-yard line.
Kareem Hunt Anytime Touchdown (+150) | First Touchdown (+1000)
A.J. Brown Anytime Touchdown (+180)

One thing I hate doing is betting on Jalen Hurts to throw a touchdown, but here I am once again, betting on A.J. Brown to get in for six. Two years ago, Hurts threw for 300+ yards, ran for 70 yards and 3 touchdowns; but his one touchdown pass went to this man, A.J. Brown.
Brown has 7 touchdowns this season, one touchdown in the post-season and he presents the main deep threat for this Eagles team. He’s scored in 4 of the Eagles’ last 6 games and leads the Eagles in targets through 3 post-season games. The last time these two teams met in the Super Bowl, Brown caught 6 of his 8 targets, recording 96 yards and a touchdown.
Philly threw the ball 38 times in that game, something they did just one time this season. With Saquon Barkley in the backfield, it’s no surprise the Eagles are running more this year. However, in the biggest game of the year, against their toughest opponent yet, the Eagles will need to move the ball through the air.
Brown’s been one of the best receivers in the NFL and he’s shown time and time again, he shows up in big games. The last time Philly was in this spot, Brown responded in a big way despite coming home without a win. This year, he’ll be doing everything he can to make sure his team goes home with the win.
