Raiders vs Rams (Week 14 Thursday Night Football) Betting: Will the streak continue for the Silver and Black?

It may well prove to be too little, too late, but the Las Vegas Raiders are making a little surge as we hit the home stretch of the NFL regular season.

Will it continue this week? They have a chance to put some pressure on the teams ahead of them in the AFC playoff picture as they are first up on the Week 14 schedule with a Thursday Night Football matchup with the struggling Los Angeles Rams.

After a home loss to the Indianapolis Colts a few weeks ago, the Raiders were 2-7 and looking like their season was all but a lost cause.

But an overtime win at Denver was followed by an overtime win at Seattle, and this past Sunday, they extended their run to three straight wins with a 27-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

They may well have to run the table or go 4-1 at worst to make the playoffs for a second straight season, but their hopes are still very much alive and kicking.

The same can’t be said for the reigning Super Bowl champions, who won’t be defending their title. After placing QB Matthew Stafford on injured reserve on Saturday and all but ending his season, they suffered their sixth straight loss on Sunday, falling in the last minute against the Seattle Seahawks.

Will Adams Have Another Amazing Day to Aid a Vegas Victory?

For much of the season, the Rams defense has played well enough to win most games, only to be let down by an offense that couldn’t produce enough.

In Sunday’s 27-23 loss to the Seahawks, the Rams scored 20+ points for just the fourth time all season and for just the second time during their six-game skid.

But the defense was lit up by Seattle QB Geno Smith, who was 28 of 39 for 367 yards and three touchdowns. He did throw one interception and lost a fumble on a sack, which helped the Rams stay in the game, but he had a huge day overall.

That huge day included hooking up with Tyler Lockett (nine catches, 128 yards, TD) and DK Metcalf (eight catches, 127 yards, TD) early and often, which should have Derek Carr and Davante Adams feeling rather confident ahead of Thursday’s game after yet another big game.

Since Adams caught just one pass (on five targets) for three yards in a loss to the Saints in Week 8, Carr has made sure his top target has had no shortage of targets, and Adams has hauled most of them in.

Can that continue? With the Patriots (at home) up next, followed by a road game against the Steelers, continuing to click offensively can set them up to be in full control of their destiny when they host the 49ers and Chiefs to end the regular season.

Despite dealing with all sorts of issues, the Rams have continued to play hard, and I’m sure they will do so again this week.

But they aren’t playing well enough to win, and I don’t think that will change against the Raiders. This is perhaps a big spread for a team that just started clicking, but I like where they’re headed right now.

Of course, this means that they will probably lay the biggest of eggs at SoFi Stadium, right? Maybe so, but I feel good about putting myself out there for a team that is finally playing like it should against a team that has very little going for it right now.
