See Picks & Statistics For The GameAfter another thrilling weekend of football, the NFL Week 8 schedule comes to a close as the Las Vegas Raiders and Detroit Lions collide on Monday Night Football. Both teams had their winning ways snapped by losses last week, leaving time to tell how the Raiders and Lions will respond.
The Raiders couldn’t muster up much offense on the road last week, falling 30-12 to the Chicago Bears. Unfortunately, the Lions didn’t do any better, suffering a 38-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, ending Detroit’s winning streak at four games in the process.
BetOnline’s Super Bowl LVIII odds show these teams at opposite ends of the spectrum. Las Vegas comes towards the bottom at +20000 (T-No. 24) while Detroit is available at +1800 (T-No. 8).
Let’s not waste any more time and dive right into this Raiders vs. Lions betting preview, where we’ll look at the latest MNF odds while also reviewing my prediction and best bets for tonight.

Raiders vs Lions Prediction & Best Bet — NFL Week 8 MNF
Away games have been one of the Raiders’ kryptonites this season. After opening the campaign with a win over the Denver Broncos at Mile High, Las Vegas has since lost three consecutive road games.
What makes matters worse is that the Raiders didn’t look competitive more often than not in those losses. The ‘Silver and Black’ were outscored 92-39 on aggregate in their last three road games, losing two of those outings by margins of 18 or more points.
Meanwhile, the Lions have won back-to-back contests at Ford Field in a dominant fashion. They defeated the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers by an average of 16 points, scoring a total of 42 in their most recent outing back in Week 5.
It’s also worth noting that the Lions are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games whereas the Raiders have only covered the spread once in their five previous road matchups.
The Lions could be without an important offensive piece, though, as WR Amon-Ra St. Brown is questionable with an illness. The third-year playmaker has caught 51 balls for 557 receiving yards and three touchdowns in six games this season.
Having said that, the Lions’ offense should be fine if St. Brown can’t suit up. Wideouts like Jameson Williams, Josh Reynolds, and Kalif Raymond are more than capable of stepping up to help a unit that’s averaging 24.9 PPG (No. 8).
It also helps that the Raiders’ attack hasn’t looked threatening. Las Vegas is averaging the third-fewest points and has only scored more than 20 once. Furthermore, the Raiders have been held to 17 or fewer points in all four of their road games.
The Lions were playing great football before their latest loss and I’m confident that head coach Dan Campbell can get his players back on track. The Raiders just aren’t good — especially on the road — and will struggle to keep pace with Detroit’s dangerous offense.
Even without St. Brown, there’s more than enough firepower around to help the Lions cover the spread. Being 5-2 ATS this season helps add to my confidence in the home team, too.
Prediction: Lions Win
Bet: Lions -7.5 (-107 on BetOnline)
Raiders vs Lions Best Player Prop — NFL Week 8
The Under on Josh Jacobs’ 57.5-yard rushing total is my favorite Raiders vs. Lions player prop bet tonight.
Jacobs has been an inconsistent rusher this season, averaging a career-low 49.6 rushing yards per game. He’s only averaging 34.8 rushing yards on the road this season, finishing with the Under on this prop three times. The only time that he finished with the Over wasn’t even that impressive considering that it was a 58-yard performance.
With the Lions allowing the second-fewest rushing yards and the game script likely not favoring the Raiders, expect Jacobs to fall short of his projected rushing yards total.
Bet: Josh Jacobs u57.5 Rushing Yards (-114 on BetOnline)
