These NFL power rankings and early Super Bowl 59 best bets are brought to you by various sportsbooks, including Bovada. Bovada is a market leader in sports betting, offering various options from the 2024 NFL season to boxing and everything in between.
It feels like the Kansas City Chiefs were just beating the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII just yesterday. However, the reality is that the 2024 NFL season is nearly here as all 32 teams are set to begin their training camp sessions this month.
The NFL offseason has been a whirlwind thus far with each organization doing what it can to take a step closer to championship glory. Between this spring’s free agency period and April’s draft, the league could look quite different once September rolls around.
But even though the action is still about two months away, it isn’t too early to think about the coming campaign.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at Betting News‘ first 2024 NFL power rankings before making an early Super Bowl 59 prediction.
NFL Power Rankings 2024 Before Training Camp
1. Kansas City Chiefs — Come on. They’re the back-to-back defending Super Bowl Champions who consistently find ways to prove their doubters wrong.
2. San Francisco 49ers — With four NFC Championship Game appearances and two Super Bowl showings in the last five seasons, the 49ers should remain one of the NFL’s biggest threats.
3. Philadelphia Eagles — The Eagles were one of the most aggressive teams when free agency began and now boast a roster that’s much better than last year’s group.
4. Baltimore Ravens — Could this be the year that Lamar Jackson finally wins it all? The Ravens are one of the best teams on both sides of the ball and could make some noise.
5. Detroit Lions — Dan Campbell’s team continues to improve with each passing season and 2024 could be the year where they finally reach the top of the mountain.
6. Cincinnati Bengals — Things didn’t go as planned last year, but the Bengals should still be one of the league’s best teams if Joe Burrow stays healthy.

7. Houston Texans — The Texans shocked a lot of people last season and could be a Super Bowl 59 threat if QB C.J. Stroud quickly develops chemistry with WR Stefon Diggs.
8. Green Bay Packers — Jordan Love looks poised to become an NFL MVP candidate and could lead the Packers on a deep run next spring.
9. Buffalo Bills — Although the Bills could be a threat, too, we can’t ignore how Josh Allen’s rise coincided with Stefon Diggs’ arrival. How will the QB fare without his top option?
10. Dallas Cowboys — America’s Team hasn’t won a Super Bowl in nearly 30 years, so does that change in 2024? Maybe not, but the Cowboys have enough talent on offense and defense to compete with the best teams.
11. Miami Dolphins — Tua Tagovailoa leads one of the most dangerous aerial attacks in the game. If the defense can hold its own and the top playmakers remain healthy, the Dolphins could quickly ascend these NFL power rankings.
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — One of the 2024 season’s biggest sleepers, the Buccaneers could take advantage of a weak NFC South and potentially shock a lot of people.
13. Cleveland Browns — Nobody’s doubting the Browns’ elite defense. Their 2024 NFL season performance will likely hinge on QB Deshaun Watson’s ability (or lack thereof) to remain healthy for 18 weeks.
14. Pittsburgh Steelers — Will Russell Wilson (or Justin Fields) return the Steelers to their former glory? The potential is there, but it all depends on how Pittsburgh performs in a highly competitive AFC North division.
15. LA Rams — Aaron Donald’s retirement stings, but the Rams are still a gifted football team. If the offense stays healthy, Matthew Stafford & Co. could exceed expectations.
16. Los Angeles Chargers — Head coach Jim Harbaugh arrived in town with a ton of fanfare. If he can live up to the hype, the Chargers will rise up the NFL power rankings in no time. If not… yikes.
17. Chicago Bears — Are the Bears young and unproven? Yes, but Caleb Williams living up to his potential could shut a lot of people up especially after the offseason moves that GM Ryan Poles made.
18. Indianapolis Colts — It’s hard to judge the Colts due to QB Anthony Richardson missing the majority of his rookie year. Having said that, they played well with Gardner Minshew under center and could surpass those results if AR5 doesn’t miss time.

19. Atlanta Falcons — Will Kirk Cousins’ presence move the needle in Atlanta? The Falcons have shown potential throughout the last few seasons, but the veteran QB’s arrival could take them to the next level.
20. Seattle Seahawks — With how uneventful their offseason has been, it’s tough to see the Seahawks as anything more than a middle-of-the-pack team next season.
21. New York Jets — Could the Jets be much higher on this list? Sure, but Aaron Rodgers played a total of four snaps in 2023 and turns 41 in December. This team has a lot to prove, so temper expectations.
22. Jacksonville Jaguars — Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence received a big-time contract extension this offseason, but does he deserve it? Failing to live up to the hype could see the Jags miss the NFL postseason yet again.
23. Minnesota Vikings — The jury is still out on rookie signal-caller J.J. McCarthy, however, WR Justin Jefferson’s presence could help the former develop into something special quickly.
24. Tennessee Titans — Will the Titans take a massive step back now that Derrick Henry is no longer leading the backfield?
25. Washington Commanders — Rookie QB Jayden Daniels faces a ton of pressure in his first NFL campaign. Do the Commanders have enough talent to help him succeed?
26. New Orleans Saints — While the Saints didn’t necessarily get better this offseason, they didn’t get much worse. Don’t expect anything special from them next season.
27. New York Giants — There’s nothing about the Giants’ spring that suggests they’ll be better than they were in 2023.
28. Las Vegas Raiders — Aidan O’Connell or Gardner Minshew? It doesn’t matter because the Raiders have one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL, making it likely that their fans are in for a long season.
29. Denver Broncos — The Broncos have officially entered a rebuild and likely won’t accomplish much unless rookie QB Bo Nix looks like the second coming of John Elway right out of the gate.
30. New England Patriots — The Patriots are ranked low, but they did make enough offseason moves to the point where they should be better than last year. Like many other teams, their success hinges on how their rookie quarterback — Drake Maye — performs.
31. Arizona Cardinals — If you watched the Cardinals last year, you know why they’re this low.
32. Carolina Panthers — Even with Bryce Young under center, the Panthers still went 2-15 in 2023. They deserve to be ranked dead last until they prove otherwise.

As for my early Super Bowl LIX prediction, I’m taking the Chiefs for a three-peat. As I mentioned earlier, we’re at the point where we can’t underestimate Mahomes & Co. Regardless of who leaves town, Kansas City finds a way to be near the top of the NFL mountain each season and the 2024 campaign shouldn’t be different.
If Mahomes develops instant chemistry with wideouts Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown, and the defense picks up from where it left off last year, there’s a solid chance that the Chiefs will run through the league. With that in mind, grab Kansas City to win Super Bowl 59 while its odds are still decent.
