See Picks & Statistics For The GameSunday Night Football is back at SoFi Stadium, and it will actually stay there for Monday Night tomorrow as well. But for now, we’ve got talk about this NFC Showdown in LA this evening. The Philadelphia Eagles come to town to take on the Los Angeles Rams on NBC.
The Eagles are extremely hot right now. After starting the season 2-2, they have won six straight games and lead the NFC East. However going into SoFi to face the Rams shouldn’t be anything they are looking forward too. Even with their defense playing well, they will be without DeVonta Smith, who leads the team in receptions, targets and TDs. Will the other pass catchers step up in his absence?
The Rams are also cooking lately, winning 4 of their L5 to improve to 5-5. They sit in 2nd in the NFC West at the moment, and a big win today seriously helps their playoff and title hopes, considering San Francisco is in Green Bay without Purdy, and either Arizona or Seattle will lose. Can the Rams pull this off at home? Or will Philly continue to roll?

Philly Looking for a 7th Straight Win
The Rams rushing defense will certainly have their work cutout for them tonight, as Philly is the most rush heavy team in the NFL. Over 55% of their plays are rushes, with that number being closer to 60% over the past few weeks, more than likely due to them blowing teams out. Los Angeles could be up to the task, holding teams to 127 yards on the ground per game, and only 103 at home this season.
Aside from Smith, both teams are pretty much completely healthy on both sides of the ball, and with the way they’ve been playing these past few games, I could see this being a thriller. Even without their WR2, the Eagles should have success on the ground, setting up a big shot down the field to AJ Brown. As for the Rams, with Stafford and all of his weapons, I certainly see him picking apart the Philadelphia defense. However I do not necessarily trust them to be able to find the end zone.
Both teams are Top 10 in Red Zone Scoring attempts per game, combining for over 7.4 trips inside their opponent’s 20 yard line. For Philly, their 3.8 attempts jumps to 4.2 on the road, but the difference is actually finding six points. Philly converts on their red zone trips over 57% of the time, and 64% on the road. The Rams are just 25th in the league at 50%, however the number does increase to 58% at SoFi Stadium.
However, against the Eagles defense, I don’t see them finding the end zone, and instead turning to the leg of their kicker.
Philadelphia Eagles vs Los Angeles Rams Best Bets
Eagles vs Rams Prediction: Eagles Win & Cover, Over 48.5
Best Bet: Joshua Karty Over 1.5 Field Goals (-120) BetOnline
So the Rams get to the Red Zone plenty, good for them. They struggle to punch it home, and Philadelphia is very frugal in their own territory. Not only are the Eagles 5th in the NFL in red zone scoring attempts allowed, giving up less than 3 trips per game, they also hold their opponents to 3 points over 54% of the time, which is also the in the league.
Point being, while I think the Rams find themselves on the Eagles side of the field often, I don’t think they’ll have much success where it matters. Karty has cleared this line in every game in which he has had 2+ Field Goal Attempts, and has only missed once from 50+ yards this season. While I don’t necessarily see the Rams being able to keep this game close, I do see them making Karty earn his paycheck this week. And hell, if it comes down to it, we know McVay isn’t against a meaningless field goal with less than a minute left.
