See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe NFL Week 10 schedule kicks off with a battle of basement teams on Thursday Night Football. The Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers have just three victories between them so far this season, leaving time to tell which side will receive some temporary relief from their losing ways tonight.
A slow first-half performance came back to hurt the Panthers in Week 9 as they fell 27-13 to the Indianapolis Colts at home. Meanwhile, the Bears dropped to 1-3 in their last four games with a 24-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Both teams are playing for pride at this point in the season due to the playoffs being nothing more than a pipedream. After all, BetOnline is currently giving both Carolina and Chicago -10000 odds to miss the postseason — an implied probability of 99.0%.
Those looking to get in on tonight’s action will want to keep reading this betting preview. We’re about to dive into my Panthers vs Bears prediction, as well as check out the latest TNF odds, trends, and best bets.

Panthers vs Bears Prediction & Best Bet: NFL Week 10 TNF
There’s no denying that the Panthers and Bears could use a victory tonight. These franchises have done more losing than winning lately, only tallying one victory apiece since Oct. 8.
Winning tonight could be an uphill battle for the Bears, who will be without QB Justin Fields (thumb) under center. Although Fields hasn’t been perfect this season, it’s clear that backup QB Tyson Bagent is a downgrade as he makes his fourth consecutive start.
The rookie signal-caller has struggled to find his footing in the NFL, averaging 174.3 passing yards per outing while throwing three touchdowns to six interceptions. That’s without mentioning how his 70.9 passer rating ranks sixth-worst among 42 quarterbacks this season, per ESPN.
Carolina’s defense has its shortcomings, but it’s defended the pass well. The Panthers are allowing 178.3 passing yards per game (No. 5) while being tied for the fewest TD passes allowed (11).
Speaking of the pass, it’ll be interesting to see how Panthers QB Bryce Young responds to his three-INT game against the Colts. On one hand, the 2023 first-overall pick has four interception-free performances in his last six games. On the other hand, he’s thrown multiple picks three times in four games this season.
But even if Young bounces back, playing on the road typically spells disaster for his team. The Panthers are 0-4 in away scenarios this season, boasting a minus-15.8 average scoring margin — second-worst in the entire NFL.
The Bears have left much to be desired, but they at least picked up a 30-12 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in their most recent home game. Speaking of Soldier Field, it’s worth noting that Chicago has five victories in its last six home matchups against Carolina.
While neither team is a bettor’s dream, I’ll take the Bears to win at home. The Panthers have been disastrous on the road and have been outscored by an average of 12.8 points in their last four outings.
I just can’t bring myself to back an underdog like that, regardless of how bad Chicago has been.
Having said that, I will be taking the Over on the 38.5-point total, too. Three of the Panthers’ last four games surpassed that number while the Bears have seen more than 38.5 points score in all but one of their games this season.
Given that four of the last five Panthers-Bears matchups went over 38.5 points, too, it’s best to side with the extra offense tonight.
Panthers vs Bears Prediction: CHI wins

Panthers vs Bears Best Player Prop: NFL Week 10 TNF
If you’re looking for a plus-money Panthers vs. Bears player prop, I suggest backing Darnell Mooney to record at least 39 receiving yards.
Mooney’s struggled to maintain consistency this season, but I’m encouraged by last week’s season-high 82-yard performance. There’s a good chance that he will follow it up with another strong showing at Soldier Field, where he’s averaging 46.0 receiving yards in four outings this season, making good on this prop three times.
With the Panthers allowing an average of 253.0 passing yards in their last three road games, there’s no excuse for Mooney not to have another respectable night.
Bet: Darnell Mooney 39+ Receiving Yards (+104 on BetOnline)
