Broncos @ Saints Analysis & Breakdown
Sean Payton makes his return to New Orleans and he’s doing it on the same night the Saints are honouring Drew Brees; how fitting. Payton and the Broncos are 3-3 on the year, coming off a divisional loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Saints started the season hot, going 2-0 and scoring 91 total points over the first two weeks. Since then, the Saints have lost 4 straight games, being outscored 118 – 76; their highest scoring week coming last week with Spencer Rattler under center.
New Orleans will once again be without their starting quarterback, Derek Carr and will look to the rookie, Spencer Rattler to get the job done. Last week Rattler recorded 243 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions; in a 24-point loss to the Buccaneers.
Injuries have decimated both teams and now coming into this game off of a short week, we’re going to see our fair share of backups filling in the gaps. Both the Broncos and Saints are missing their starting centers, with New Orleans currently on their third string center.
Both teams have rookies starting under center today, with injuries across their offensive lines and across the entire roster. On a short week, it really feels like anything could happen tonight.
Bub Means to Score a Touchdown (+350) via BetOnline – Get a $500 WELCOME BONUS
With the Saints receiving room decimated by injury, they’ll be looking a little deeper into that depth chart for someone to step up. Last week, it was Bub Means. Means’ was drafted in the 5th round of this year’s NFL Draft, and I don’t think anyone saw this coming.
Last week, Means saw his snap count go from 0, to being on the field for 71% of the team’s offensive snaps. The Saints suffered injuries to both Chris Olave and Rasheed Shaahed last week, and will now look to both a rookie wide receiver and rookie quarterback to get them the win.
Means saw 8 targets last week, catching 5 for 45 yards and a touchdown. This week he’s matched up with the Broncos who will be without their Pro-Bowl CB, Patrick Surtain.
With both Means and Rattler being rookies, it was encouraging to see their connection last week and it’s no accident Rattler targets Means 8 times. This week against a top-2 Broncos pass rush, look for him to continue look for Means, especially as they close in on the endzone.

Kendre Miller to Score a Touchdown (+700) via BetOnline – Get a $500 WELCOME BONUS
If you thought Bub Means was a weird touchdown bet, strap in while I talk about Kendre Miller. Miller’s playing in his first game of the year, returning from injury, and in just his 2nd season in the NFL.
Last year he was used sporadically as the year went, only recording 10+ carries twice on the year. In the Saints’ last game of the season last year, Miller recorded 13 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Miller was drafted in the 3rd round last year and brought in to be the change-of-pace back for Alvin Kamara. Tonight he’s got the chance to do it for the first time in 9 months, look for Miller to make a splash tonight.
