The 2023 football season is blazing by as we’ve already reached the NFL Week 3 schedule. Another 16 exciting games means even more betting opportunities are on the horizon and this article has everything you need to start the week right.
It can sometimes be hard to figure out where to start with your NFL weekly betting. Fortunately, this article will help with that process by pointing you in the right direction.
Here’s a look at the early odds and picks for every NFL Week 3 matchup.
All Week 3 odds are courtesy of BetOnline at 10:34 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
NFL Week 3 Thursday Night Football Odds
Giants vs 49ers Odds
- Record: New York Giants (1-1) vs. San Francisco 49ers (2-0)
- Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
- Location: Levi’s Stadium — Santa Clara, CA
- Spread: Giants +10.5 (-108) | 49ers -10.5 (-112)
- Total: OVER 45 (-110) | UNDER 45 (-110)
- Moneyline: Giants +510 | 49ers -660
The Giants are fresh off a 31-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals that saw them lose No. 1 RB Saquon Barkley to an ankle injury. Meanwhile, the 49ers return home following a 30-23 victory against the LA Rams, highlighted by Christian McCaffrey’s 116-yard performance on the ground.
The Giants don’t look great this year, especially not without Barkley. Meanwhile, the 49ers are playing like the NFL’s best team and shouldn’t have an issue decisively winning this one.
Giants vs 49ers Prediction: SF 31, NYG 19
Giants vs 49ers Best Bet: SF -10.5 (-112)
NFL Week 3 Early Sunday Odds
Titans vs Browns Odds
- Record: Tennessee Titans (1-1) vs. Cleveland Browns (1-1)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Cleveland Browns Stadium (Cleveland, OH)
- Spread: Titans +3.5 (-110) | Browns -3.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 39.5 (-114) | UNDER 39.5 (-106)
- Moneyline: Titans +170 | Browns -195
The Titans needed overtime to earn their first win of the 2023 campaign, picking up a 27-24 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. On the flip side, the Browns prepare for life without star RB Nick Chubb following a disappointing 26-22 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Even without Chubb, I still like the Browns better. Cleveland’s defense is still elite and shouldn’t have an issue taking on a Tennessee attack that hasn’t been special outside of Derrick Henry.
With the Titans being 0-5 ATS against their last five AFC North appearances and 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings with Cleveland, take the Browns to cover.
Titans vs Browns Prediction: CLE 22, TEN 17
Titans vs Browns Best Bet: CLE -3.5 (-110)
Falcons vs Lions Odds
- Record: Atlanta Falcons (2-0) vs. Detroit Lions (1-1)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Ford Field (Detroit, MI)
- Spread: Falcons +3.5 (-120) | Lions -3.5 (+100)
- Total: OVER 46 (-110) | UNDER 46 (-110)
- Moneyline: Falcons +150 | Lions -170
The Falcons shocked the world by improving to 2-0 with last week’s 25-24 win over the Green Bay Packers. At the same time, Lions fans were left heartbroken when they’re team came up short in a 37-31 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
I see the Lions having the edge in NFL Week 3 due to their getting superior play under center. Jared Goff has already thrown over 220 more passing yards than Desmond Ridder and should be able to carve up a secondary that surrendered three passing TDs to Jordan Love last week.
Regardless of who I think wins, I expect the Over to be hit either way. There just won’t be many defensive stops here.
Falcons vs Lions Prediction: DET 28, ATL 24
Falcons vs Lions Best Bet: Over 46 Total Points (-110)
Saints vs Packers Odds
- Record: New Orleans Saints (2-0) vs. Green Bay Packers (1-1)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Lambeau Field (Green Bay, WI)
- Spread: Saints +2 (-107) | Packers -2 (-113)
- Total: OVER 42.5 (-110) | UNDER 42.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Saints +112 | Packers -132
A 20-17 effort against the Carolina Panthers helped improve the Saints to a 2-0 record. That’s more momentum than the Packers have after falling 25-24 to the Falcons in a game that saw Green Bay outscored 13-0 in the fourth quarter.
After the Packers’ collapse, I’m siding with the Saints on the road. New Orleans’ defense is only allowing 16.0 PPG and 277.5 yards per game thus far. It won’t be hard to keep those trends going as long as Green Bay continues to play without key playmakers Christian Watson and Aaron Jones.
Saints vs Packers Prediction: NO 23, GB 20
Saints vs Packers Best Bet: Saints +2 (-107)
Broncos vs Dolphins Odds
- Record: Denver Broncos (0-2) vs. Miami Dolphins (2-0)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Hard Rock Stadium (Miami Gardens, FL)
- Spread: Broncos +6.5 (-107) | Dolphins -6.5 (-113)
- Total: OVER 48 (-110) | UNDER 48 (-110)
- Moneyline: Broncos +240 | Dolphins -285
The Broncos head into the NFL Week 3 slate winless after a gut-wrenching 35-33 loss to the Washington Commanders. On the other side, the Dolphins remained perfect by beating the rival New England Patriots 24-17 at Gillette Stadium.
While I expect the Dolphins to win, this game could wind up being closer than the odds imply. Miami only has a plus-4.5 average scoring through two games, meaning expecting Mike McDaniel’s team to win by at least a touch could be asking for too much.
Instead, I’ll take the Over on the 48-point total. Not only is the Over 6-1 in Denver’s last seven games, but it’s also 4-1 in Miami’s previous five against the AFC West. With both offenses clicking, taking the points is the right call.
Broncos vs Dolphins Prediction: MIA 31, DEN 24
Broncos vs Dolphins Best Bet: Over 48 Total Points (-110)
Chargers vs Vikings Odds
- Record: Los Angeles Chargers (0-2) vs. Minnesota Vikings (0-2)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: U.S. Bank Stadium (Minneapolis, MN)
- Spread: Chargers +1 (-110) | Vikings -1 (-110)
- Total: OVER 54 (-110) | UNDER 54 (-110)
- Moneyline: Chargers TBD | Vikings TBD
The Chargers look to avoid going 0-3 this week following a 27-24 OT loss to the Titans. On the other side, the Vikings also desperately need their first victory after looking unimpressive in their 34-28 defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles on TNF.
In a game that could go either way, I’m inclined to side with the Chargers. Their ground game is better and I trust Justin Herbert under center more than I do Kirk Cousins at this point.
Chargers vs Vikings Prediction: LAC 34, MIN 31
Chargers vs Vikings Best Bet: Chargers +1 (-110)
Patriots vs Jets Odds
- Record: New England Patriots (0-2) vs. New York Jets (1-1)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, NJ)
- Spread: Patriots -2.5 (-118) | Jets +2.5 (-102)
- Total: OVER 36.5 (-110) | UNDER 36.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Patriots -150 | Jets +130
The Patriots left much to be desired in last week’s 24-17 loss to the Dolphins at home. Meanwhile, the Jets continued to struggle without Aaron Rodgers, evident by their underwhelming offensive showing in a 30-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Honestly, the Patriots are an easy pick for me. The Jets just can’t get anything going with Zach Wilson, who’s completed just 54.2% of passes for 310 yards with two TDs and four INTs over the last two games.
Take New England to cover the spread on the road and don’t overthink things.
Patriots vs Jets Prediction: NE 20, NYJ 16
Patriots vs Jets Best Bet: Patriots -2.5 (-118)
Bills vs Commanders Odds
- Record: Buffalo Bills (1-1) vs. Washington Commanders (2-0)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: FedExField (Landover, MD)
- Spread: Bills -6.5 (-110) | Commanders +6.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 44.5 (-110) | UNDER 44.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Bills -300 | Commanders +250
The Bills got back on track in Week 2 as QB Josh Allen threw for three TDs in a 38-10 blowout win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The Commanders, on the other hand, enter NFL Week 3 after emerging with a hard-fought 35-33 victory against the Broncos.
While a 2-0 record is impressive on paper, the Commanders haven’t played anyone on the Bills’ level just yet. Buffalo is dynamic on both sides of the ball while also boasting momentum stemming from eight victories in its last nine meetings with Washington.
Considering how the Bills are also 8-1 ATS during that stretch, winning by at least one touchdown is a real possibility.
Bills vs Commanders Prediction: BUF 28, WSH 17
Bills vs Commanders Best Bet: Bills -6.5 (-110)
Texans vs Jaguars Odds
- Record: Houston Texans (0-2) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: EverBank Stadium (Jacksonville, FL)
- Spread: Texans +9 (-105) | Jaguars -9 (-115)
- Total: OVER 43.5 (-110) | UNDER 43.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Texans +340 | Jaguars -420
The Texans’ 2023 slide continued with a one-sided 31-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. On the flip side, the Jaguars hope for a stronger effort after failing to get anything going in their 17-9 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Jaguars are the better team and should easily win this game, but I’m looking at the Over as the best bet here. After all, the last 10 Houston-Jacksonville matchups saw an average of just 35.7 points scored with the total going under 43.5 in six of those games.
In other words, don’t expect a ton of points on the board.
Texans vs Jaguars Prediction: JAX 24, HOU 14
Texans vs Jaguars Best Bet: Under 43.5 Total Points (-110)
Colts vs Ravens Odds
- Record: Indianapolis Colts (1-1) vs. Baltimore Ravens (2-0)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore, MD)
- Spread: Colts +8 (-110) | Ravens -8 (-110)
- Total: OVER 44 (-110) | UNDER 44 (-110)
- Moneyline: Colts +290 | Ravens -360
Despite losing QB Anthony Richardson to a concussion, the Colts still managed to secure a 31-20 win over the Texans in Week 2. Meanwhile, the Ravens earned a 27-24 win against the Cincinnati Bengals to take sole possession of the AFC North’s top spot.
The Colts looked decent against the Texans after Richardson exited the game, but I don’t see a world where Gardner Minshew keeps pace with Lamar Jackson. The Ravens will get off to a lead early on before using the ground game to run out the clock.
Having said that, each of the Colts’ first two games went over 44 points while the Ravens combined for 51 last week. Don’t be surprised if there’s more offense than expected in this tilt.
Colts vs Ravens Prediction: BAL 27, IND 19
Colts vs Ravens Best Bet: Over 44 Total Points (-110)

NFL Week 3 Odds — Late Sunday Games
Panthers vs Seahawks Odds
- Record: Carolina Panthers (0-2) vs. Seattle Seahawks (1-1)
- Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
- Location: Lumen Field (Seattle, WA)
- Spread: Panthers +6 (-108) | Seahawks -6 (-112)
- Total: OVER 42.5 (-110) | UNDER 42.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Panthers +225 | Seahawks -265
The Panthers dropped to 0-2 on the year with a 20-17 loss to the Saints. The Seahawks, on the other hand, are feeling themselves after Tyler Lockett’s game-winning TD lifted Seattle to a 37-31 OT win over the Lions.
Averaging 13.5 PPG with a minus-8.5 scoring margin through two weeks, let’s fade the Panthers here. The Seahawks look better offensively and should be able to ride their newfound momentum to victory.
At the same time, I could see the visitors keeping it close. The Seahawks have allowed 30-plus points in back-to-back outings and are only 1-5 ATS in their six previous home games. In other words, don’t expect a one-sided win.
Panthers vs Seahawks Prediction: SEA 30, CAR 24
Panthers vs Seahawks Best Bet: Panthers +6 (-108)
Bears vs Chiefs Odds
- Record: Chicago Bears (0-2) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (1-1)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City, MO)
- Spread: Bears +13 (-110) | Chiefs -13 (-110)
- Total: OVER 48 (-108) | UNDER 48 (-112)
- Moneyline: Bears +580 | Chiefs -800
The Bears continued to look like one of the NFL’s worst teams with Week 2’s 27-17 loss to the low Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At the same time, the Chiefs are coming off a 17-9 win that saw them hold the Jaguars to 271 total yards and a 3-of-12 third-down conversion rate (25.0%).
This is another game where you shouldn’t overthink things. The Bears can’t stop opposing offenses to save their lives and I can’t imagine that changing against Patrick Mahomes & Co.
With the Chiefs being 4-1 ATS in their last five games vs. the Bears and Chicago going 1-8 ATS in its last nine Sunday games, Kansas City will win this meeting by a large gap.
Bears vs Chiefs Prediction: KC 34, CHI 17
Bears vs Chiefs Best Bet: Chiefs -13 (-110)
Cowboys vs Cardinals Odds
- Record: Dallas Cowboys (2-0) vs. Arizona Cardinals (0-2)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: State Farm Stadium (Glendale, AZ)
- Spread: Cowboys -12 (-110) | Cardinals +12 (-110)
- Total: OVER 43.5 (-110) | UNDER 43.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Cowboys -660 | Cardinals +510
All eyes are on the Cowboys in NFL Week 3 after allowing just 10 points in two weeks following a 30-10 win over the Jets. Unsurprisingly, it’s looking like an uphill battle for the Cardinals after dropping to 0-2 with a 31-28 loss to the Giants.
Considering how the Cardinals just lost to a Giants team that the Cowboys beat 40-0 in Week 1, I don’t see Arizona standing a chance here. Dallas will dominate from the first quarter to the fourth without giving the Cards any glimmers of hope.
This one could be ugly.
Cowboys vs Cardinals Prediction: DAL 37, ARI 14
Cowboys vs Cardinals Best Bet: Cowboys -12 (-110)
NFL Week 3 Sunday Night Football Odds
Steelers vs Raiders Odds
- Record: Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) vs. Las Vegas Raiders (1-1)
- Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
- Location: Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas, NV)
- Spread: Steelers +1 (-116) | Raiders -1 (-114)
- Total: OVER 43.5 (-110) | UNDER 43.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Steelers TBD | Raiders TBD
The Steelers are in search of their second consecutive victory after emerging on the right side of a 26-22 encounter with the Browns. The Raiders weren’t as fortunate in Week 2, leaving fans disappointed in a 38-10 drubbing at the hands of the Bills.
Taking the Under on the 43.5-point total seems like the best option here. I’m not a huge fan of how either side has played so far, especially offensively. After all, the Steelers and Raiders are only scoring an average of 16.5 and 13.5 points, respectively, to begin the year.
Steelers vs Raiders Prediction: PIT 20, LV 17
Steelers vs Raiders Best Bet: Under 43.5 Total Points (-110)
NFL Week 3 Monday Night Football Odds
Eagles vs Buccaneers Odds
- Record: Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0)
- Time: 7:15 p.m. ET
- Location: Raymond James Stadium (Tampa, FL)
- Spread: Eagles -5 (-107) | Buccaneers +5 (-113)
- Total: OVER 45.5 (-105) | UNDER 45.5 (-115)
- Moneyline: Eagles -240 | Buccaneers +200
The first of two NFL Week 3 MNF matchups features two undefeated teams. The Eagles improved to 2-0 with a 34-28 effort against the Vikings while the Buccaneers emerged from their home opener with a 27-17 win over the Bears.
Do I think the Eagles will win? Yes, but their defense has looked far from elite thus far. The Buccaneers could make this one closer than expected, especially if Baker Mayfield continues to thrive under center.
With the home crowd backing them up, I won’t be surprised if the Bucs give the Eagles a scare.
Eagles vs Buccaneers Prediction: PHI 26, TB 23
Eagles vs Buccaneers Best Bet: Buccaneers +5 (-113)
Rams vs Bengals Odds
- Record: LA Rams (1-1) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (0-2)
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: Paycor Stadium (Cincinnati, OH)
- Spread: Rams +1.5 (-110) | Bengals -1.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 43 (-110) | UNDER 43 (-110)
- Moneyline: Rams +115 | Bengals -135
The Rams return to the road debut following a disappointing 30-23 loss to the 49ers at home. Having said that, at least LA has a win. The Bengals are still searching for their first victory after a 27-24 loss to the rival Ravens.
Even if Joe Burrow is banged up, the Bengals are better than their record implies. The Rams are due to be brought down to earth and I see that happening on Monday. After all, Cincinnati has won seven of its last eight home games while Los Angeles is just 1-7 in its previous eight road outings.
Back the Bengals to begin their turnaround this week.
Rams vs Bengals Prediction: CIN 24, LAR 20
Rams vs Bengals Best Bet: Bengals ML (-135)
