After four intense months, the 2023 NFL regular season finally comes to an end with Week 18. Even though it’s the last week of games and most teams’ fate has already been decided, there are still betting opportunities out there and Betting News is here to help with where you should start.
This weekly primer is the one-stop shop for all your football needs, as usual. For the last time of the 2023 regular season, let’s dive into my NFL Week 18 predictions and betting picks for all 16 upcoming contests.
Week 17 Outright Record: 13-3-0
Week 17 Best Bet Record: 10-6-0
NFL Week 18 Predictions & Odds: Saturday, Jan. 6
Steelers vs Ravens Odds & Prediction
- Record: Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7) vs. Baltimore Ravens (13-3)
- Time: 4:30 p.m. ET
- Location: M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore, MD)
- Spread: Steelers -3.5 (-112) | Ravens +3.5 (-108)
- Total: OVER 37 (-110) | UNDER 37 (-110)
- Moneyline: Steelers (-194) | Ravens (+169)
It might be a surprise to see the Ravens as underdogs at home, but that’s because they clinched the AFC’s No. 1 seed in Week 17, meaning they’ll likely rest most starts this weekend. Meanwhile, the Steelers must defeat their AFC North rivals to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Even though they’ll be resting starters for the postseason, the Ravens are still good enough to beat the Steelers. Baltimore has won six straight home games and could use some revenge after falling to Pittsburgh in Week 5.
But regardless of who wins, I doubt we’ll see a shootout. The last six Steelers-Ravens matchups each finish below their projected point total, averaging 31.2 PP while finishing below 37 in each tilt.
Steelers vs Ravens Prediction: BAL wins
Best Steelers vs Ravens Bet: u37 Total Points (-110)
Texans vs Colts Odds & Prediction
- Record: Houston Texans (9-7) vs. Indianapolis Colts (9-7)
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis, IN)
- Spread: Texans -1 (-108) | Colts +1 (-112)
- Total: OVER 47 (-115) | UNDER 47 (-105)
- Moneyline: Texans (TBD) | Colts (TBD)
This matchup could wind up deciding the AFC South depending on how Week 18 plays out. The Colts and Texans both own 9-7 records, meaning a victory here combined with the Jaguars losing to the Titans would win the division. Additionally, Houston and Indianapolis can still make the playoffs with a victory even if Jacksonville wins.
These rivals last met in Week 2, resulting in a 31-20 victory for the Colts. Shane Steichen’s team now has eight victories in its last 11 games against the Texans, putting them in a good spot to pick up the victory this weekend — especially with Indianapolis being 16-4 SU in its last 20 home matchups with Houston.
Expect the Colts to hold on before a raucous Lucas Oil Stadium crowd.
Texans vs Colts Prediction: IND wins
Best Texans vs Colts Bet: IND +1 (-112)

NFL Week 18 Predictions & Odds: Sunday, Jan. 7
Browns vs Bengals Odds & Prediction
- Record: Cleveland Browns (11-5) vs. Cincinnati Bengals (8-8)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Paycor Stadium (Cincinnati, OH)
- Spread: Browns +5.5 (-110) | Bengals -5.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 39 (-110) | UNDER 39 (-110)
- Moneyline: Browns (+195) | Bengals (-225)
There isn’t much riding on this game. The Browns’ are locked into the AFC’s No. 5 playoffs pot whether they win or lose while the Bengals are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
In a game that could go either way, I could see the Browns winning since they are the better team and want to enter the playoffs on the right note. At the same time, I’m not really a fan of going all in on either side due to the meaningless nature of this contest, so let’s side with the Over as the best bet.
After all, the Over is 5-1 in Cleveland’s last six games as well as 4-1 in Cincinati’s previous five. Furthermore, the Over is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these AFC North rivals at Paycor Stadium, averaging 53.0 PPG.
Browns vs Bengals Prediction: CLE wins
Best Browns vs Bengals Bet: o39 Total Points (-110)
Vikings vs Lions Odds & Prediction
- Record: Minnesota Vikings (7-9) vs. Detroit Lions (11-5)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Ford Field (Detroit, MI)
- Spread: Vikings +5 (-110) | Lions -5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 46 (-115) | UNDER 46 (-105)
- Moneyline: Vikings (+200) | Lions (-240)
While the Vikings’ playoff hopes are technically still alive, the NFL’s playoff picture only gives them a 3% chance at making the postseason. On the flip side, the Lions have already punched their playoff ticket and can finish as high as No. 2 in the NFC if they win and both the Cowboys and Eagles lose.
Minnesota has some motivation to win, but I can’t doubt Detroit at home in Week 18. The Lions just defeated the Vikings 30-24 when they collided on Christmas Eve, improving to 3-1 SU in the last four meetings between these NFC North rivals.
Considering how the Lions have also covered the spread in six straight matchups with the Vikings, it’s safe to say the home team can win by a touchdown on Sunday.
Vikings vs Lions Prediction: DET wins
Best Vikings vs Lions Bet: DET -5 (-110)
Jaguars vs Titans Odds & Prediction
- Record: Jacksonville Jaguars (9-7) vs. Tennessee Titans (5-11)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Nissan Stadium (Nashville, TN)
- Spread: Jaguars -5 (-110) | Titans +5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 40 (-110) | UNDER 40 (-110)
- Moneyline: Jaguars (-215) | Titans (+185)
As mentioned earlier, the Jaguars desperately need a victory come Sunday as a win locks up the AFC South crown. Standing in their way, though, is none other than the rival Titans. Fortunately for Jacksonville, it proved that it could handle Tennessee with a decisive 34-14 win in Week 11.
While the Titans will do what they can to play spoiler, they aren’t good enough to do so. After all, this is a Tennessee team that could only score three points in Week 17 and is currently averaging 12.0 PPG during a three-game skid. The Jaguars aren’t perfect, but they’re good enough to keep the ball rolling against the Titans.
Jaguars vs Titans Prediction: JAX wins
Best Jaguars vs Titans Bet: JAX -5 (-110)

Jets vs Patriots Odds & Prediction
- Record: New York Jets (6-10) vs. New England Patriots (4-12)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Gillette Stadium (Foxboro, MA)
- Spread: Jets +2.5 (-107) | Patriots -2.5 (-113)
- Total: OVER 30.5 (-110) | UNDER 30.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Jets (+123) | Patriots (-143)
Here’s a matchup between two teams on the outside looking in when it comes to the 2023-24 postseason. So, why should you care about this game? Well, it could be Bill Belichick’s last as the Patriots head coach as rumors swirl that the franchise could move on from the 71-year-old this offseason.
In a match where I’m not in love with either team, I’ll take the Patriots to win. They’re playing better as of late and shouldn’t be too threatened by the Jets, who are likely starting Trevor Siemian under center again. It won’t be a masterclass, but the Pats will get the job done in the end.
And while these teams aren’t offensive juggernauts, a 30.5-point total is too low. Three of the Jets’ last four games went over 30 points while the Patriots’ last four saw an average of 44.8 PPG.
Jets vs Patriots Prediction: NE wins
Best Jets vs Patriots Bet: o30.5 Total Points (-110)
Falcons vs Saints Odds & Prediction
- Record: Atlanta Falcons (7-9) vs. New Orleans Saints (8-8)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Caesars Superdome (New Orleans, LA)
- Spread: Falcons +3.5 (-117) | Saints -3.5 (-103)
- Total: OVER 41.5 (-110) | UNDER 41.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Falcons (+155) | Saints (-175)
The Falcons and Saints are currently on the outside of the playoff bubble, highlighting the need for a win in Week 18. While only one game separates these NFC South rivals, Atlanta only has a 10% shot at making the playoffs while New Orleans’ odds are slightly more probable at 31%.
It’ll be a close game, but I’m taking the Saints. New Orleans has won three of its last four outings while Atlanta is only 1-3 SU during that span. On top of that, the Saints are 9-3 SU with a plus-4.5 average scoring margin in their last 12 meetings with the Falcons.
Although the Falcons won when these teams last met in Week 12, they’re now on the road where they’ve dropped 12 of their last 14 outings. The Saints will take advantage of their rival’s lackluster road play to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Falcons vs Saints Prediction: NO wins
Best Falcons vs Saints Bet: NO -3.5 (-103)
Buccaneers vs Panthers Odds & Prediction
- Record: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-8) vs. Carolina Panthers (2-14)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte, NC)
- Spread: Buccaneers -5.5 (-110) | Panthers +5.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 37.5 (-110) | UNDER 37.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Buccaneers (-250) | Panthers (+210)
I wouldn’t overthink things when it comes to this upcoming clash. The Panthers have nothing to play for at this point in the season and tanking isn’t even an option considering that they don’t even own their 2024 first-round pick. At the same time, the Buccaneers can secure the NFC South crown with a win over the worst team in the entire NFL.
Even though the Buccaneers only won by three points when these teams met earlier this season, I can see them covering. The Bucs are 7-1 ATS on the road this season and have covered five times in their last seven games against the Panthers, who are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games played on a Sunday.
Again, don’t overthink things.
Buccaneers vs Panthers Prediction: TB wins
Best Buccaneers vs Panthers Bet: TB -5.5 (-110)

NFL Week 18 Predictions & Odds: Sunday Afternoon
Bears vs Packers Odds & Prediction
- Record: Chicago Bears (7-9) vs. Green Bay Packers (8-8)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: Lambeau Field (Green Bay, WI)
- Spread: Bears +3 (-105) | Packers -3 (-115)
- Total: OVER 43.5 (-110) | UNDER 43.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Bears (+145) | Packers (-165)
The Bears’ playoff hopes might be dead in the water, but the Packers are currently the No. 7 seed in the NFC and can secure a postseason berth if they win at Lambeau Field. Green Bay got the last laugh when these rivals opened the 2023 campaign against each other, tallying a 38-20 blowout win in Week 1.
History doesn’t always repeat itself, but I don’t trust the Bears to pick up the upset win on the road. While Chicago has been stacking up some wins lately, it has lost seven straight trips to Green Bay by an average of 13.4 points for a reason.
Take the Packers to cover and move on.
Bears vs Packers Prediction: GB wins
Best Bears vs Packers Bet: GB -3 (-115)
Broncos vs Raiders Odds & Prediction
- Record: Denver Broncos (8-8) vs. Las Vegas Raiders (7-9)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas, NV)
- Spread: Broncos +2.5 (-105) | Raiders -2.5 (-115)
- Total: OVER 38 (-110) | UNDER 38 (-110)
- Moneyline: Broncos (+125) | Raiders (-145)
There’s nothing riding on the line in this matchup except pride as both the Broncos and Raiders have been eliminated from playoff contention. Having said that, I see Las Vegas picking up the win at home.
After all, the Raiders have been playing well lately and just scored 63 points against the Chargers in their last home game. That’s the same Los Angeles team that Denver — now led by Jarret Stidham under center — only scored 16 points against last week.
Considering how the Broncos have now lost seven straight games to the Raiders, I’m confident that Antonio Pierce’s team can win this showdown by at least one field goal.
Broncos vs Raiders Prediction: LV wins

Eagles vs Giants Odds & Prediction
- Record: Philadelphia Eagles (11-5) vs. New York Giants (5-11)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, NJ)
- Spread: Eagles -5 (-115) | Giants +5 (-105)
- Total: OVER 41 (-110) | UNDER 41 (-110)
- Moneyline: Eagles (-240) | Giants (+200)
The Eagles may have made the playoffs, but their NFC East title odds have taken a hit with four losses in the last five games. They look to turn things around against the Giants, whom they recently defeated 33-25 back on Christmas Day — Philadelphia’s sole victory since the end of November.
Upsets are a part of the NFL experience, but I don’t see one happening here. The Eagles are desperate to return to the win column and have a great opportunity to do so against a Giants team that they’ve defeated in five straight encounters.
With that in mind, I will take New York to cover. The Giants are 5-1 ATS in their last six games and have covered in four of their last five outings as the underdog. Meanwhile, the Eagles are an abysmal 0-5 ATS in their last five games.
Eagles vs Giants Prediction: PHI wins
Best Eagles vs Giants Bet: NYG +5 (-105)
Seahawks vs Cardinals Odds & Prediction
- Record: Seattle Seahawks (8-8) vs. Arizona Cardinals (4-12)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: State Farm Stadium (Glendale, AZ)
- Spread: Seahawks -3 (-110) | Cardinals +3 (-110)
- Total: OVER 47.5 (-110) | UNDER 47.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Seahawks (-157) | Cardinals (+137)
The Seahawks need a win on Sunday if they want to keep their NFL playoff dreams, which sit at 26%, alive. Their opportunity to do so comes against the Cardinals, whom they last defeated 20-10 in Week 7 to improve to 5-1 SU in the last six meetings between the NFC West rivals.
But can Seattle win again on the road? I believe so. While the Cardinals have shown some improvements lately and even defeated the Eagles in Week 17, they’ve still lost five of their last six home games against the Seahawks while also failing to cover the spread in seven straight divisional matchups.
Motivated by a potential playoff appearance, the Seahawks will march into Glendale and pick up the decisive victory.
Seahawks vs Cardinals Prediction: SEA wins
Best Seahawks vs Cardinals Bet: SEA -3 (-110)
Chiefs vs Chargers Odds & Prediction
- Record: Kansas City Chiefs (10-6) vs. Los Angeles Chargers (5-11)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, CA)
- Spread: Chiefs +2 (-110) | Chargers -2 (-110)
- Total: OVER 35.5 (-110) | UNDER 35.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Chiefs (+107) | Chargers (-127)
I understand that the Chiefs haven’t been playing well as of late, but to list them as the 2-point underdogs? That’s disrespectful. It isn’t as if the Chargers have been playing well, after all. They’re 0-4 SU with a minus-17.0 average scoring margin in their last four games and only scored nine points against the Broncos last week.
Kansas City — which has won eight straight road games over Los Angeles — will get the job done come Sunday. Considering how the Chiefs beat the Chargers by 14 points just over two months ago, covering as the underdogs won’t be an issue.
Chiefs vs Chargers Prediction: KC wins
Best Chiefs vs Chargers Bet: KC +2 (-110)

Rams vs 49ers Odds & Prediction
- Record: LA Rams (9-7) vs. San Francisco 49ers (12-4)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: Levi’s Stadium (Santa Clara, CA)
- Spread: Rams +3.5 (-115) | 49ers -3.5 (-105)
- Total: OVER 42 (-115) | UNDER 42 (-105)
- Moneyline: Rams (+160) | 49ers (-180)
Both of these NFC West teams clinched their playoff positioning last week, meaning not much can change this Sunday regardless of the result. The 49ers will be the No. 1 NFC team throughout the postseason while the Rams can’t rise any higher than their currently-owned No. 6 spot.
With both teams likely taking it easy at Levi’s Stadium, I have the 49ers emerging victorious. Even with the majority of starters likely sitting, San Francisco is a much deeper team than LA and is still talented enough to win a relatively meaningless game. Besides, it helps that the 49ers have won nine of their last 10 encounters with the Rams — including a 30-23 victory in Week 2.
Rams vs 49ers Prediction: SF wins
Best Rams vs 49ers Bet: SF -3.5 (-105)
Cowboys vs Commanders Odds & Prediction
- Record: Dallas Cowboys (11-5) vs. Washington Commanders (4-12)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: FedExField (Landover, MD)
- Spread: Cowboys -13 (-112) | Commanders +13 (-108)
- Total: OVER 44.5 (-110) | UNDER 44.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Cowboys (-800) | Commanders (+580)
The Cowboys are the 13-point favorites in this intriguing matchup. On one hand, a victory secures the NFC East crown for them. On the other hand, if the Eagles lose to the Giants earlier in the day, the Cowboys will win the division before even playing this game.
While I’m sure Dallas will win this outing one way or another, the potential of them sitting their starters has me going with the Over as the best bet. After all, the Cowboys and Commanders combined for 55 points in Week 12, meaning the Over is now 11-5 in their last 16 collisions.
With the Over also going over 44.5 in four of Washington’s last seven home games against Dallas, there’s a good chance we’ll see plenty of points on this board this weekend.
Cowboys vs Commanders Prediction: DAL wins
Best Cowboys vs Commanders Bet: o44.5 Total Points (-110)
NFL Week 18 Predictions: Sunday Night Football
Bills vs Dolphins Odds & Prediction
- Record: Buffalo Bills (10-6) vs. Miami Dolphins (11-5)
- Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
- Location: Hard Rock Stadium (Miami Gardens, FL)
- Spread: Bills -3 (-115) | Dolphins +3 (-105)
- Total: OVER 50.5 (-110) | UNDER 50.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Bills (-160) | Dolphins (+140)
The NFL Week 18 predictions come to a close with a make-or-break game between the Bills and Dolphins. Miami can clinch the AFC’s No. 2 seed with a victory but could fall to No. 6 if Buffalo wins, winning the AFC East title in the process.
Although the Dolphins are one of the NFL’s best teams, I don’t have much faith in them after losing to the Ravens by 37 points last week. The Bills have had their fair share of highs and lows this season, but they’ve won four straight games heading into this tilt and already earned a 48-20 victory over the Dolphins on Oct. 1.
The game should be a shootout, too. Not only do Buffalo and Miami own two of the top six offenses in the league, but they’ve also combined for the Over in eight of their last 11 meetings. Considering how each of their last three tilts saw at least 61 combined points, surpassing 50.5 won’t be an issue.
Bills vs Dolphins Prediction: BUF wins
Best Bills vs Dolphins Bet: o50.5 Total Points (-110)
