These NFL Week 17 picks and predictions are brought to you by BetOnline. BetOnline is a market leader in sports betting, offering a variety of options from the NFL to the UFC and everything in between.
The 2023 NFL season has reached Week 17, meaning only two weeks remain until the postseason. Six teams have clinched a playoff spot following last week’s action, leaving time to tell just how many more will join them on the hunt for Super Bowl LVIII once the upcoming schedule ends.
While it’s the last week of football before the calendar switches to 2024, there aren’t any shortages of betting opportunities on the horizon. Let’s dive into my NFL Week 17 picks as I give my early best bets and predictions for each of the upcoming 16 games.
Week 16 Outright Record: 10-6-0
Week 16 Best Bet Record: 4-12-0
NFL Week 17 Picks & Odds: Thursday Night Football
Jets vs Browns Odds & Prediction
- Record: New York Jets (6-9) vs. Cleveland Browns (10-5)
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: Cleveland Browns Stadium (Cleveland, OH)
- Spread: Jets +7 (+100) | Browns -7 (-120)
- Total: OVER 36 (-110) | UNDER 36 (-110)
- Moneyline: Jets (+290) | Browns (-360)
The Browns can clinch a playoff berth with a victory this weekend. Momentum is on their side after extending their winning streak to three games with last week’s 36-22 win over the Houston Texans, whereas the Jets are coming off a 30-28 victory against the Washington Commanders.
While the Jets could play spoiler, I don’t see the Browns losing. Cleveland’s offense is rolling with Joe Flacco under center and the defense is as strong as ever. It’s going to be tough for New York to keep up — especially with QB Zach Wilson still in concussion protocol as of Tuesday.
I expect the Browns — who are better on both sides of the ball — to cover the spread here. They’re 6-2 ATS in their last eight games and have covered in five straight outings at home. Meanwhile, the Jets are an abysmal 1-7 ATS throughout their last eight outings.
Jets vs Browns Prediction: CLE wins

NFL Week 17 Picks: Saturday Night Football
Lions vs Cowboys Odds & Prediction
- Record: Detroit Lions (11-4) vs. Dallas Cowboys (10-5)
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: AT&T Stadium (Arlington, TX)
- Spread: Lions +6 (-106) | Cowboys -6 (-114)
- Total: OVER 53.5 (-110) | UNDER 53.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Lions (+230) | Cowboys (-275)
Here’s a potential NFC Championship Game preview featuring teams heading in opposite directions. The Lions have won back-to-back outings while the Cowboys return home following consecutive losses for the first time this season.
The Lions are playing well, however, I can’t doubt the Cowboys at home. While Dallas hasn’t performed well on the road, that hasn’t been the case at AT&T Stadium where the Cowboys are 7-0 SU (6-1 ATS) while scoring 39.9 PPG (1st) with a plus-24.4 average scoring margin (1st).
With both sides boasting a top-five offense, though, I do like the Over on the 53.5-point total. The Over is 5-2 at AT&T Stadium this season as well as 6-1 in the Lions’ last seven games. Additionally, the Over has also been hit in eight of the last 10 Detroit-Dallas clashes.
Lions vs Cowboys Prediction: DAL wins
Best Lions vs Cowboys Bet: o53.5 Total Points (-110)
NFL Week 17 Picks & Odds: Early Sunday
Patriots vs Bills Odds & Prediction
- Record: New England Patriots (4-11) vs. Buffalo Bills (9-6)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Highmark Stadium (Orchard Park, NY)
- Spread: Patriots +12 (-110) | Bills -12 (-110)
- Total: OVER 41 (-110) | UNDER 41 (-110)
- Moneyline: Patriots (+520) | Bills (-700)
The next chapter of an AFC East rivalry unfolds when the Patriots pay a visit to the Bills on Sunday. The rivals met back in Week 7 as New England snagged the 26-22 upset victory as TE Mike Gesicki caught a one-yard touchdown with 12 seconds remaining.
Do I think the Bills will win? Yes, but will they cover the spread? I’m not so sure. As solid as Buffalo can be, it’s only 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games and hasn’t looked dominant at all over the last month outside of the win over the Cowboys in Week 16. I know that Highmark Stadium is a different environment but I wouldn’t be surprised if New England makes this one closer than expected.
Patriots vs Bills Prediction: BUF wins
Best Patriots vs Bills Bet: NE +12 (-110)
Falcons vs Bears Odds & Prediction
- Record: Atlanta Falcons (7-8) vs. Chicago Bears (6-9)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Soldier Field (Chicago, IL)
- Spread: Falcons +3 (-112) | Bears -3 (-108)
- Total: OVER 39 (-110) | UNDER 39 (-110)
- Moneyline: Falcons (+146) | Bears (-166)
With a 3-2 record in their last five games, the Falcons are still in the NFC South title hunt when they head to Chicago in Week 17. The Bears have been solid, though, having won four games in a row at Soldier Field following last week’s 27-16 win against the Arizona Cardinals.
Between the two sub-.500 teams, I’m taking the Bears to stand tall at home. The Falcons have been terrible on the road all season, going 2-5 SU while averaging just 13.6 PPG (3rd-worst) — which includes being held to seven or fewer points three times.
The Bears, meanwhile, held opponents to a 13.5 PPG clip with a plus-11.8 average scoring margin during their four-game winning streak at home. In other words, winning by just more than a field goal shouldn’t be an issue for Chicago.
Falcons vs Bears Prediction: CHI wins
Best Falcons vs Bears Bet: CHI -3 (-108)

Raiders vs Colts Odds & Prediction
- Record: Las Vegas Raiders (7-8) vs. Indianapolis Colts (8-7)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis, IN)
- Spread: Raiders +3 (-110) | Colts -3 (-110)
- Total: OVER 44 (-105) | UNDER 44 (-115)
- Moneyline: Raiders (TBD) | Colts (TBD)
After Week 16’s 63-point effort, the Raiders shocked the world over the weekend with a huge 20-14 upset win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Colts, on the other hand, fumbled their shot at coming closer to clinching a playoff spot with a 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Having said that, I see the Colts winning at home. The Raiders are on a roll, but last week’s victory was far from perfect. After all, they didn’t complete a single pass for the final three quarters, emphasizing how the win had a lot more to do with the Chiefs playing poorly. The Colts can still win the AFC South, so I expect Shane Steichen to get his players back on track.
The Over on the 44-point total is appealing, though. Lucas Oil Stadium has been a scoring-friendly location throughout the campaign, highlighted by the Over being 6-1 across seven games that featured an average of 53.6 points scored.
Raiders vs Colts Prediction: IND wins
Best Raiders vs Colts Bet: o44 Total Points (-105)
Rams vs Giants Odds & Prediction
- Record: LA Rams (8-7) vs. New York Giants (5-10)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, New Jersey)
- Spread: Rams -6 (-115) | Giants +6 (-105)
- Total: OVER 42 (-110) | UNDER 42 (-110)
- Moneyline: Rams (TBD) | Giants (TBD)
The Rams continue to be one of the hottest teams in the NFL, improving to 5-1 SU in their last six games with a huge 30-22 win over the New Orleans Saints. On the flip side, the Giants hope to avoid a third straight loss when they return home after back-to-back losses to the Saints and Eagles.
I wouldn’t overthink things here even with the Giants having the home-field advantage. The Rams just beat the Saints, who destroyed the Giants 24-6 just two weeks ago. LA is also pushing for a playoff spot, whereas New York would just like this underwhelming season to be over at this point.
Back the Rams to cover and move on.
Rams vs Giants Prediction: LAR wins

Cardinals vs Eagles Odds & Prediction
- Record: Arizona Cardinals (3-12) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (11-4)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia, PA)
- Spread: Cardinals +10.5 (-110) | Eagles -10.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 48.5 (-110) | UNDER 48.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Cardinals (TBD) | Eagles (TBD)
Again, this isn’t a matchup where you need to overcomplicate your pick. Upsets happen in the NFL all the time, but a lot would have to go wrong for the Eagles to lose to the Cardinals, of all teams.
After all, Arizona is 2-8 SU in its last 10 games with five of those losses coming by 11 or more points — including last week’s loss to Chicago. While the Eagles haven’t been blowing out teams at home all that often this season, I expect that to change against the Cardinals, who are allowing 29.8 PPG in their last four outings.
The Eagles must win their last two games to lock up the NFC East, so look for them to keep their foot on the gas pedal.
Cardinals vs Eagles Prediction: PHI wins
Best Cardinals vs Eagles Bet: PHI -10.5 (-110)
Saints vs Buccaneers Odds & Prediction
- Record: New Orleans Saints (7-8) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-7)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Raymond James Stadium (Tampa, FL)
- Spread: Saints +3 (-112) | Buccaneers -3 (-108)
- Total: OVER 42 (-115) | UNDER 42 (-105)
- Moneyline: Saints (+140) | Buccaneers (-160)
Both the Saints and Buccaneers are still alive when it comes to the NFC South title race. The rivals met back in Week 4 and it wasn’t even close as Tampa Bay QB Baker Mayfield aired out a trio of touchdown passes in a 26-9 blowout over New Orleans on the road.
With the Buccaneers at home, I see them winning again. I just can’t go against them when Mayfield is playing terrific football, throwing for 808 passing yards and eight TDs without an interception with a 123.8 passer rating in his last three games. It also helps that the Bucs have won four of their last six games against the Saints.
I wouldn't be shocked if it’s a low-scoring contest, though. On top of their Under being 5-2 at Raymond James Stadium in 2023, the last four games between these rivals featured a 26.8-point average, finishing below 42 each time.
Saints vs Buccaneers Prediction: TB wins
Best Saints vs Buccaneers Bet: u42 Total Points (-105)
49ers vs Commanders Odds & Prediction
- Record: San Francisco 49ers (11-4) vs. Washington Commanders (4-11)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: FedExField (Landover, MD)
- Spread: 49ers -13.5 (-110) | Commanders +13.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 48.5 (-110) | UNDER 48.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: 49ers (TBD) | Commanders (TBD)
Let’s not joke ourselves: the 49ers will easily defeat the Commanders this week, especially due to their being motivated by the quest to lock up the NFC’s No. 1 seed. But will they cover as 13.5-point favorites?
The 49ers have 11 victories this season and eight of them came by margins of 14 or more points. They didn’t get the job done against the Baltimore Ravens last week, but they now have an opportunity to turn things around against the Commanders, who have the worst scoring defense in the league.
In other words, expect a blowout.
49ers vs Commanders Prediction: SF wins
Best 49ers vs Commanders Bet: SF -13.5 (-110)
Panthers vs Jaguars Odds & Prediction
- Record: Carolina Panthers (2-13) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (8-7)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: EverBank Stadium (Jacksonville, FL)
- Spread: Panthers +6.5 (-110) | Jaguars -6.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 37.5 (-110) | UNDER 37.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Panthers (+230) | Jaguars (-275)
The Jaguars are heading in the wrong direction, entering Wee 17 on a four-game losing streak. The good news is that they get some relief when they face the Panthers, who are winless through eight road games this season.
The Jaguars haven’t been good lately, but I’d be shocked if they lose to the Panthers. Carolina is a bottom-10 team when it comes to points scored (25th), points allowed (29th), and average scoring margin (32nd) on the road this season.
Still, with the way the Jags have been playing, the Over is the safer bet. On top of the Panthers combining for 63 points with the Packers last week, five of the Jaguars’ last six games went over 37.5 total points.
Panthers vs Jaguars Prediction: JAX wins
Best Panthers vs Jaguars Bet: o37.5 Total Points (-110)
Dolphins vs Ravens Odds & Prediction
- Record: Miami Dolphins (11-4) vs. Baltimore Ravens (12-3)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore, MD)
- Spread: Dolphins +3.5 (-115) | Ravens -3.5 (-105)
- Total: OVER 47.5 (-110) | UNDER 47.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Dolphins (TBD) | Ravens (TBD)
It’s safe to say that this game is one of the most highly anticipated Week 17 matchups. The Dolphins improved to 5-1 SU in their last six outings with a huge 22-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve while the Ravens marched into Levi’s Stadium one day later to pull off the 33-19 win over the 49ers.
After beating San Francisco, I’m sticking with Baltimore this week. Despite their injury issues, the Ravens aren’t showing any signs of slowing down and now own the best record in the NFL. The Dolphins also deserve praise for their success, however, it’s worth noting that three of their four losses came on the road against above-.500 teams.
With that being said, the Over on the spread is the way to go. The Over is 6-3 in the Ravens’ last nine games as well as 4-1 in their five most recent at M&T Bank Stadium. Additionally, the Dolphins’ last five road games averaged 51.6 points, highlighting the probability of a shootout in Baltimore.

Titans vs Texans Odds & Prediction
- Record: Tennessee Titans (5-10) vs. Houston Texans (8-7)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: NRG Stadium (Houston, TX)
- Spread: Titans +3.5 (-106) | Texans -3.5 (-114)
- Total: OVER 42.5 (-110) | UNDER 42.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Titans (TBD) | Texans (TBD)
The Titans’ playoff hopes might be dead in the water, but they have a chance to spoil the Texans’ parade with a win on the road. If Houston wants to avoid that scenario, getting QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) back in the lineup would go a long way.
While having faith in the Texans isn’t easy at the moment, I have them winning in Week 17. The Titans are awful outside of Nissan Stadium, dropping nine of their last 10 road games dating back to 2022. Furthermore, Tennessee has only covered the spread once in its last five meetings with Houston.
After beating the Titans by three points back on Dec. 17, winning by one more than that two weeks later won’t be a problem for the Texans.
Titans vs Texans Prediction: HOU wins
Best Titans vs Texans Bet: HOU -3.5 (-114)

Now, back to the NFL Week 17 picks…
NFL Week 17 Picks & Odds: Sunday Afternoon
Steelers vs Seahawks Odds & Prediction
- Record: Pittsburgh Steelers (8-7) vs. Seattle Seahawks (8-7)
- Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
- Location: Lumen Field — Seattle, WA
- Spread: Steelers +3.5 (-118) | Seahawks -3.5 (-102)
- Total: OVER 41.5 (-107) | UNDER 41.5 (-113)
- Moneyline: Steelers (+155) | Seahawks (-175)
The Steelers ended a three-game skid with last week’s 34-11 victory over the Bengals, keeping their playoff hopes alive in the process. Meanwhile, the Seahawks continue to trend in the right direction with back-to-back wins over the Eagles and Titans.
While it was impressive to see the Steelers score 34 points last week, that’s likely an anomaly given that they averaged 13.4 PPG in the five previous outings. The Seahawks, on the other side, held their last two opponents to 17 points apiece and own a 5-1 SU record in their last six home games.
But while I expect Seattle to win, I’m going with Pittsburgh on the spread. The Seahawks are an unreliable 3-3-1 ATS at Lumen Field this season while their minus-0.7 average scoring margin at home is the 12th-worst mark in the league. I could easily see this game coming down to a field goal, which works in the Steelers’ favor on the spread.
Steelers vs Seahawks Prediction: SEA wins
Best Steelers vs Seahawks Bet: PIT +3.5 (-118)
Chargers vs Broncos Odds & Prediction
- Record: Los Angeles Chargers (5-10) vs. Denver Broncos (7-8)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: Empower Field at Mile High (Denver, CO)
- Spread: Chargers +5.5 (-114) | Broncos -5.5 (-106)
- Total: OVER 39.5 (-110) | UNDER 39.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Chargers (+195) | Broncos (-225)
Things didn’t go the Chargers’ way the last time that these AFC West foes met. The Broncos earned a convincing 24-7 road victory in Week 14, which actually kickstarted Los Angeles’ current three-game road skid.
With the Broncos playing at home, I don’t expect a different result. Los Angeles rarely gets the job done against Denver, losing 14 of the last 20 meetings as well as nine of 10 previous trips to the Mile High City.
The Broncos are angry after losing to the Patriots and will likely take things out on the Chargers, who have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Throw in the fact that QB Justin Herbert is finished for the season and it’s even easier to fade Los Angeles.
Chargers vs Broncos Prediction: DEN wins
Best Chargers vs Broncos Bet: DEN -5.5 (-106)

Bengals vs Chiefs Odds & Prediction
- Record: Cincinnati Bengals (8-7) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (9-6)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City, MO)
- Spread: Bengals +7 (-105) | Chiefs -7 (-114)
- Total: OVER 44.5 (-110) | UNDER 44.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Bengals (TBD) | Chiefs (TBD)
The Bengals and Chiefs could both use a win to keep their AFC postseason aspirations alive. After all, Cincinnati’s three-game heater was snapped with a blowout loss to Pittsburgh while Kansas City fell to 1-3 SU in its last four outings with the aforementioned loss to Las Vegas.
While I think the Chiefs will win, I’m taking the Bengals on the spread. Kansas City is the better team in theory, but I can hardly trust it to win by seven points when it has lost three straight home games by a 4.3-point average. The Bengals aren’t perfect but they did cover the spread in five of their seven previous meetings with the Chiefs.
Bengals vs Chiefs Prediction: KC wins
Best Bengals vs Chiefs Bet: CIN +7 (-105)
NFL Week 17 Picks: Monday Night Football
Packers vs Vikings Odds & Prediction
- Record: Green Bay Packers (7-8) vs. Minnesota Vikings (7-8)
- Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
- Location: U.S. Bank Stadium (Minneapolis, MN)
- Spread: Packers +1 (+103) | Vikings -1 (-123)
- Total: OVER 46.5 (-108) | UNDER 46.5 (-112)
- Moneyline: Packers (+118) | Vikings (-138)
The Lions may have clinched the NFC North title but the Packers and Vikings are still in the NFL playoff picture. Green Bay couldn’t hang with Minnesota when the rivals last met for a Week 8 date, ending in the Vikings picking up the 24-10 victory.
Will Monday’s game be any different? Probably not. The Packers are just 2-5 SU in seven trips to Minneapolis since 2017 and have lost the last two by an average of 9.5 points. Even with the Vikings struggling to pick up wins, the Packers are the perfect opponents to help them bounce back.
Don’t be surprised if there aren’t a ton of points scored, though. The Packers and Vikings have combined for 46 or fewer points in seven of their last nine meetings at U.S. Bank Stadium, which includes just 30 when they last met there in September 2022.
Packers vs Vikings Prediction: GB wins
Best Packers vs Vikings Bet: u46.5 Total Points (-112)
