These NFL Week 16 picks and predictions are brought to you by BetOnline. BetOnline is a market leader in sportsbooks, offering a variety of options from the NFL to the NHL and everything in between.
It’s hard to believe, but there are only three weeks left in the 2023 NFL season. The playoffs (and Super Bowl) are right around the corner, further highlighting the importance of the NFL Week 16 slate as teams continue to jockey for postseason positioning.
The holidays might be around the corner, but that doesn’t mean the football betting opportunities stop this weekend. From a full Christmas Eve slate to the three Christmas Day games, NFL bettors won’t see any shortages when it comes to chances to win big during the holidays.
With that in mind, let’s dive into my NFL Week 16 picks and predictions for each of the upcoming contests.
All NFL Week 16 odds are courtesy of BetOnline at 11:39 a.m. ET on Monday, Dec. 18.
Week 15 Outright Record: 9-6-0
Week 15 Best Bet Record: 6-8-1
NFL Week 16 Picks & Odds: Thursday Night Football
Saints vs Rams Odds & Prediction
- Record: New Orleans Saints (7-7) vs. LA Rams (7-7)
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, CA)
- Spread: Saints +4 (-110) | Rams -4 (-110)
- Total: OVER 44.5 (-110) | UNDER 44.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Saints (+175) | Rams (-205)
After a brief losing skid, the Saints are back on track with back-to-back wins over the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers. Their opponents have momentum as well, though, as the Rams improved to 4-1 in their last five games with last week’s 28-20 win over the Washington Commanders.
While the Saints are coming off two straight wins, those victories came against two of the worst teams in the NFL. The Rams will pose a more difficult task, especially after averaging 29.8 points with a plus-8.6 average scoring margin over the five previous games.
With a 6-0 ATS record in its last six home games against New Orleans, I could see LA winning here by five or more points.
Saints vs Rams Prediction: LAR wins

Bengals vs Steelers Odds & Prediction
- Record: Cincinnati Bengals (8-6) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-7)
- Time: 4:30 p.m. ET
- Location: Acrisure Stadium (Pittsburgh, PA)
- Spread: Bengals -2.5 (-110) | Steelers +2.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 38.5 (-110) | UNDER 38.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Bengals (-140) | Steelers (+120)
The Steelers got the last laugh when these AFC North rivals met in Week 12, walking out of Paycor Stadium with the 16-10 road win. A lot has changed since then, though, as the Bengals have won three straight games since that loss while the Steelers lost three in a row.
I don’t see the Bengals losing here and it’s all because of QB Jake Browning. The 27-year-old gunslinger has been great in Joe Burrow's absence, averaging 317.7 passing yards with five touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 112.6 passer rating over the last three wins.
I also expect the Bengals to cover on the road. The Steelers just haven’t been competitive lately, averaging 14.0 PPG with a minus-6.2 average scoring margin over the last five games. In other words, Cincinnati is more than capable of winning by a field goal.
Bengals vs Steelers Prediction: CIN wins
Best Bengals vs Steelers Bet: CIN -2.5 (-110)
Bills vs Chargers Odds & Prediction
- Record: Buffalo Bills (8-6) vs. Los Angeles Chargers (5-9)
- Time: 8 p.m. ET
- Location: SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, CA)
- Spread: Bills -12 (-110) | Chargers +12 (-110)
- Total: OVER 42.5 (-110) | UNDER 42.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Bills (-700) | Chargers (+520)
I wouldn’t overthink things when it comes to this lopsided matchup. The Bills are back on track after their massive 31-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys while the Chargers were just embarrassed 63-21 by the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football.
Even with Brandon Staley fired in favor of interim head coach Giff Smith, I don’t expect the results to be different for the Chargers. They might not allow 63 points again, but they still have one of the worst defenses in the NFL and will struggle to slow the Bills down if they aren’t ready for Josh Allen & Co.
Considering how they just destroyed the Cowboys by 21 points, I’m confident that the Bills will cover the 12-point spread on Saturday night.
Bills vs Chargers Prediction: BUF wins
Best Bills vs Chargers Bet: BUF -12 (-110)
NFL Week 16 Picks & Odds: Early Sunday
Colts vs Falcons Odds & Prediction
- Record: Indianapolis Colts (8-6) vs. Atlanta Falcons (6-8)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Mercedes-Benz Stadium — Atlanta, GA
- Spread: Colts -1.5 (-110) | Falcons +1.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 44 (-110) | UNDER 44 (-110)
- Moneyline: Colts (-125) | Falcons (+105)
Despite losing starting QB Anthony Richardson earlier this season, the Colts are still in the playoff hunt with an 8-6 record as of Week 16. Standing in their way of another win is the Falcons, who fell out of the NFC South’s top spot with a 9-7 loss to the Carolina Panthers over the weekend.
Sometimes it’s best to ride the hot hand and that’s why I’m backing the Colts to win on the road. Indianapolis is playing well on both sides of the ball, resulting in a 5-1 SU record over the last six games. That’s a lot more to be excited about as opposed to the Falcons being held to seven points on 204 total yards against the NFL’s worst team last week.
Back the Colts on the spread and move on.
Colts vs Falcons Prediction: IND wins

Seahawks vs Titans Odds & Prediction
- Record: Seattle Seahawks (6-7) vs. Tennessee Titans (5-9)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Nissan Stadium — Nashville, TN
- Spread: Seahawks -2.5 (-110) | Titans +2.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 43 (-110) | UNDER 43 (-110)
- Moneyline: Seahawks (TBD) | Titans (TBD)
At the time of writing, the Seahawks have yet to play the Eagles in the Week 15 Monday Night Football matchup. Having said that, we do know that the Titans are coming off a 19-16 overtime loss to the rival Houston Texans.
I can’t bring myself to trust the current Titans. In Week 14, they showed that they were capable of beating a team like the Miami Dolphins. Fast forward one week and they’re losing to the Texans, who were without starting QB C.J. Stroud and No. 1 WR Nico Collins. That level of volatility makes me want to stay away from a betting perspective.
Regardless of the winner, I see a lot of points being scored. After all, the Seahawks’ last five games saw an average of 50.4 points scored while the Titans’ most recent five averaged 44.8 PPG.
Seahawks vs Titans Prediction: SEA wins
Best Seahawks vs Titans Bet: o43 Total Points (-110)
Lions vs Vikings Odds & Prediction
- Record: Detroit Lions (10-4) vs. Minnesota Vikings (7-7)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: U.S. Bank Stadium — Minneapolis, MN
- Spread: Lions -3 (-113) | Vikings +3 (-107)
- Total: OVER 46.5 (-110) | UNDER 46.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Lions (-172) | Vikings (+152)
The Lions have alternated between wins and losses for the last few weeks, but momentum is on their side following a massive 42-17 win over the Denver Broncos. The Vikings, on the other side, dropped to 1-3 SU in their last four outings thanks to a 27-24 overtime loss to the Bengals.
It’s easy to side with the Lions after the Vikings blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead against the Bengals. Detroit has more than enough talent to punish Minnesota for any defensive mistakes. The Lions put up the fifth-most PPG with the seventh-best average scoring margin and now get to face the team with the third-most giveaways.
Expect the Lions to cover in the latest chapter of this NFC North rivalry.
Lions vs Vikings Prediction: DET wins
Best Lions vs Vikings Bet: DET -3 (-113)
Commanders vs Jets Odds & Prediction
- Record: Washington Commanders (4-10) vs. New York Jets (5-9)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: MetLife Stadium — East Rutherford, NJ
- Spread: Commanders +3 (-115) | Jets -3 (-105)
- Total: OVER 37.5 (-110) | UNDER 37.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Commanders (+135) | Jets (-155)
The hits keep coming for the Commanders, who lost their fifth straight game in the form of a 28-20 loss to the LA Rams in Week 15. Having said that, it isn’t like the Jets have much to celebrate. Robert Saleh’s team is coming off a 30-0 loss to the Miami Dolphins, dropping their record to 1-6 SU in the last seven weeks.
I don’t like either team all that much, but I’ll take the Jets. After all, they did win 30-6 in their last outing at home, whereas the Commanders have been outscored 102-56 on aggregate in three straight road losses. It won’t be pretty, but New York will find a way to get the job done.
Commanders vs Jets Prediction: NYJ wins
Best Commanders vs Jets Bet: NYJ -3 (-105)
Packers vs Panthers Odds & Prediction
- Record: Green Bay Packers (6-8) vs. Carolina Panthers (2-12)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Bank of America Stadium — Charlotte, NC
- Spread: Packers -4.5 (-110) | Panthers +4.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 37 (-110) | UNDER 37 (-110)
- Moneyline: Packers (-242) | Panthers (+202)
The Packers own the superior record in this matchup, but momentum isn’t on their side following back-to-back losses. While the Panthers have earned the reputation as the NFL’s worst team this year, they were granted a break from their losing ways with a 9-7 win over the rival Falcons last week.
Even with Carolina winning its most recent game, I don’t see Green Bay losing here. The Packers are just one win back from three of the NFC’s wild-card teams, meaning the motivation should be there to beat the Panthers, who boast the fourth-worst average scoring margin at home and second-worst overall.
Regardless of who wins, don’t expect a shootout. The Under is 6-0 at Bank of America Stadium this season, averaging just 33 total points per contest. With Green Bay’s offense average at best and Carolina scoring 10 or fewer points in four of the last five games, backing the Under is the correct call.
Packers vs Panthers Prediction: GB wins

Browns vs Texans Odds & Prediction
- Record: Cleveland Browns (9-5) vs. Houston Texans (8-6)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: NRG Stadium — Houston, TX
- Spread: Browns +2.5 (-106) | Texans -2.5 (-114)
- Total: OVER 43 (-108) | UNDER 43 (-112)
- Moneyline: Browns (+120) | Texans (-140)
Here’s a showdown between two AFC teams in the thick of the NFL playoff picture. The Browns currently occupy the conference’s No. 5 seed while the Texans, who are on the outside looking in, desperately need to win to keep their postseason hopes alive.
Even though the Texans are home favorites, the Browns are my pick to win. The team has truly picked things up with veteran QB Joe Flacco under center. Meanwhile, it’s unknown if the Texans will even have Stroud, who missed Week 15 with a concussion.
The Browns are a gritty team that has found a way to shock people throughout the 2023 season, so don’t be surprised if they do it again in Week 16.
Browns vs Texans Prediction: CLE wins
Best Browns vs Texans Bet: Browns ML (+120)

Now, back to the NFL Week 16 picks…
NFL Week 16 Picks & Odds: Sunday Afternoon
Jaguars vs Buccaneers Odds & Prediction
- Record: Jacksonville Jaguars (8-6) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-7)
- Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
- Location: Raymond James Stadium — Tampa, FL
- Spread: Jaguars PK (-110) | Buccaneers PK (-110)
- Total: OVER 43 (-110) | UNDER 43 (-110)
- Moneyline: Jaguars (TBD) | Buccaneers (TBD)
We have a pick ‘em situation when the Jaguars and Buccaneers clash at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Jacksonville is currently on a three-game skid, though, while Tampa Bay is trending in the opposite direction with three straight wins.
Even though the Jaguars haven’t been that trustworthy lately, I have them winning on the road. Jacksonville is due for a bounce-back win after losing two of the last three games by just one possession. The Buccaneers are on a solid run, but their three-game winning streak has been built against opponents who’ve combined for a 14-28 record.
Let’s side with Trevor Lawrence & Co. on this one.
Jaguars vs Buccaneers Prediction: JAX wins

Cardinals vs Bears Odds & Prediction
- Record: Arizona Cardinals (3-11) vs. Chicago Bears (5-9)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: Soldier Field — Chicago, IL
- Spread: Cardinals +4.5 (-110) | Bears -4.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 44 (-110) | UNDER 44 (-110)
- Moneyline: Cardinals (+185) | Bears (-215)
A lot of Week 16 matchups feature two teams vying for playoff spots while this one highlights two basement-dwelling teams. Having said that, the Bears are the clear-cut better team here and should pick up the win.
The Cardinals are an abysmal 1-6 SU (3-4 ATS) on the road and have been outscored by an average of 9.7 points in away contests. The Bears are far from flawless, however, they have won three straight home games while holding each of those opponents to 13 or fewer points. Judging by Arizona’s offensive struggles throughout the season, I don’t expect that trend to change.
Cardinals vs Bears Prediction: CHI wins
Best Cardinals vs Bears Bet: CHI -4.5 (-110)
Cowboys vs Dolphins Odds & Prediction
- Record: Dallas Cowboys (10-4) vs. Miami Dolphins (10-4)
- Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: Hard Rock Stadium — Miami Gardens, FL
- Spread: Cowboys +1 (-108) | Dolphins -1 (-112)
- Total: OVER 51 (-110) | UNDER 51 (-110)
- Moneyline: Cowboys (+107) | Dolphins (-127)
The makings were right for the Cowboys to get the job done in Buffalo, but they couldn’t pull through as they fell 31-10 to the Bills at Highmark Stadium. Meanwhile, the Dolphins returned to the win column with a huge 30-0 win over the rival Jets over the weekend, improving their record to 6-1 SU (5-2 ATS) at Hard Rock Stadium.
Despite the promise they’ve shown, it’s clear the Cowboys aren’t the same team on the road as they are at AT&T Stadium. I don’t see them beating the Dolphins in Miami, especially with Mike McDaniel’s team ranking second in points scored, first in total yards, sixth in points allowed, and second in average scoring margin at home this season.
I also fully expect a shootout. These are the two highest-scoring teams in the NFL, after all. With both teams needing as much momentum as possible before the playoffs, prepare for a show.
Cowboys vs Dolphins Prediction: MIA wins
Best Cowboys vs Dolphins Bet: o51 Total Points (-110)
NFL Week 16 Picks: Sunday Night Football
Patriots vs Broncos Odds & Prediction
- Record: New England Patriots (3-11) vs. Denver Broncos (7-7)
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: Empower Field at Mile High — Denver, CO
- Spread: Patriots +5.5 (-103) | Broncos -5.5 (-117)
- Total: OVER 34.5 (-110) | UNDER 34.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Patriots (+215) | Broncos (-255)
Can the Patriots win on the road this weekend? Probably not. The Broncos aren’t exactly Super Bowl contenders, but they shouldn’t struggle to win at home. This is a New England team that has lost four of its last five road games, averaging 13.0 PPG while getting outscored by a 10.6-point average.
Considering how the Broncos have won four straight games in Denver by an average of 8.8 points, defeating the lowly Patriots by at least one touchdown isn’t too big of an ask.
Patriots vs Broncos Prediction: DEN wins
Best Patriots vs Broncos Bet: DEN -5.5 (-117)
NFL Week 16 Christmas Day Picks
Raiders vs Chiefs Odds & Prediction
- Record: Las Vegas Raiders (6-8) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (9-5)
- Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Location: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium — Kansas City, MO
- Spread: Raiders +10 (-110) | Chiefs -10 (-110)
- Total: OVER 42.5 (-105) | UNDER 42.5 (-115)
- Moneyline: Raiders (+360) | Chiefs (-450)
You only have to go back to Week 12 to find the last meeting between these AFC West rivals. The Chiefs notched a 31-17 victory at Allegiant Stadium as Patrick Mahomes threw for 298 yards and two TDs on 27 completions while Isaiah Pacheco turned 15 carries into 55 rushing yards and a pair of scores.
I don’t see Monday’s outcome being any different than the last clash. The Chiefs are now 18-3 SU (14-7 ATS) in their last 21 games against the Raiders, which includes nine wins in the last 10 meetings at Arrowhead Stadium. Considering how Kansas City won six of those games by 11 or more points, I’m taking the Chiefs to cover again.
Raiders vs Chiefs Prediction: KC wins
Best Raiders vs Chiefs Bet: KC -10 (-110)
Giants vs Eagles Odds & Prediction
- Record: New York Giants (5-9) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (10-3)
- Time: 4:30 p.m. ET
- Location: Lincoln Financial Field — Philadelphia, PA
- Spread: Giants +10.5 (-105) | Eagles -10.5 (-115)
- Total: OVER 43.5 (-110) | UNDER 43.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Giants (TBD) | Eagles (TBD)
Even though this is Week 16, it’s also the first time that the Giants and Eagles are meeting this season. Having said that, Philadelphia has won 12 of the last 14 chapters in this rivalry. That includes when the Eagles swept the 2022 season series, outscoring the Giants 60-23 on aggregate.
New York hasn’t beaten Philly since November 2021 and that trend won’t come to an end. The Eagles are one of the NFL’s top contenders and have only lost one game at home all season. After the Giants scored just six points on the road against the Saints last week, why should we be concerned about a potential upset?
Giants vs Eagles Prediction: PHI wins
Best Giants vs Eagles Bet: PHI -10.5 (-115)
NFL Week 16 Picks: Monday Night Football
Ravens vs 49ers Odds & Prediction
- Record: Baltimore Ravens (11-3) vs. San Francisco 49ers (11-3)
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: Levi’s Stadium — Santa Clara, CA
- Spread: Ravens +5.5 (-110) | 49ers -5.5 (-110)
- Total: OVER 46 (-110) | UNDER 46 (-110)
- Moneyline: Ravens (TBD) | 49ers (TBD)
The Week 16 Monday Night Football showdown may as well be the most highly anticipated game of the week. Oddsmakers see it as a potential Super Bowl LVIII preview as the 49ers are currently BetOnline’s championship favorite while the Ravens are right behind them with the second-best odds.
Nevertheless, only one team can win here and that’ll be the 49ers. Baltimore is a fantastic team, but there’s a reason why San Francisco has only lost one of its last 14 home games dating back to the 2022 campaign. The 49ers just don’t lose at Levi’s Stadium and as good as the Ravens have been on the road, they don’t have the same number of weapons as the hosts.
At the end of the day, the 49ers know how to step up against fellow contenders and that’ll be the case again. Look for San Francisco to edge out the convincing win.
Ravens vs 49ers Prediction: SF wins
