Bills vs Lions NFL Week 15 Predictions & Picks (12/15)
As I mentioned earlier, no one would be surprised if these contenders are duking it out for the Lombardi Trophy come February. The Lions are heading into the NFL Week 15 schedule as the +270 Super Bowl favorites on both BetOnline and SportsBetting while the Lions are tied for the third-best odds on both sportsbooks (+550).
It’ll likely be an entertaining showdown when two of the NFL’s best offenses collide at Ford Field. The Bills are averaging 30.5 points (2nd) and 355.0 total yards (10th) per game along with a plus-9.9 average scoring margin, whereas the Lions are averaging 32.1 PPG (1st), 394.8 yards (2nd), and a plus-14.1 margin (1st).
MVP candidate and quarterback Josh Allen has been the main reason behind the Bills’ offensive success. The 28-year-old signal-caller — who had a six-touchdown performance in Week 14 — has passed for 3,033 yards and 23 TDs to five interceptions while also converting 80 carries into 416 yards and another nine scores.
It’ll be interesting to see if Lions QB Jared Goff can outduel Allen (or at least keep pace). The veteran gunslinger is averaging 251.2 passing yards per game while recording 25 TDs and 10 INTs in 13 starts thus far.
The Bills are counting on QB Josh Allen to outperform Lions QB Jared Goff on Sunday.
As good as the Bills are, time will tell how they perform underneath the Ford Field spotlight. After all, the Lions are on a five-game win streak at home, having won those outings by an average of 20.6 PPG. Considering how Detroit scored 42-plus points in three of those victories, it’s clear that Buffalo needs to bring its A-game to the Motor City in Week 15.
Another obstacle in the Bills’ way is the fact that they’re only 3-6 ATS in their last nine encounters with the Lions. In fact, Buffalo has only covered the spread once in its last seven games against an NFC North team. Meanwhile, the Lions are 15-5 ATS in their last 20 games dating back to the 2023 campaign and have covered the spread in five of their seven previous Week 15 matchups.
Another interesting trend is that the Bills are only 2-4 SU in their last six outings as the road underdog since 2022. Conversely, the Lions are 17-4 SU as the home favorite during that timeframe.
The Lions have rarely lost at Ford Field throughout the last three seasons — especially when the NFL betting odds are in their favor.
In what should be the game of the weekend, I’m taking the Lions to win. The Bills are terrific, don’t get me wrong, but the Lions are nearly unbeatable at home and hold the defensive advantage in this matchup. I expect a back-and-forth affair that ends with the Lions narrowly edging out the Bills, potentially with a buzzer-beating field goal.
With that in mind, let’s take the Lions to cover the 1.5-point spread at home.

Best Bills vs Lions NFL Week 15 Player Prop Bet
After last week’s performance, it’s a no-brainer to take Josh Allen to record an anytime touchdown (+110 on SportsBetting) for the best Bills vs. Lions player prop bet.
Allen typically makes his presence felt on the ground, however, his recent performances have improved with each passing game. The two-time Pro Bowl QB has now rushed for 256 yards and seven TDs on 54 carries in his last eight games and has hit paydirt in each of his last four outings — including when he rushed for three TDs in Week 14. That’s without mentioning his seven-yard touchdown reception against the San Francisco 49ers two weeks ago.
If that isn’t convincing enough, Allen also recorded a rushing TD in each of his two previous encounters with the Lions. With 54.5 points projected to be on the board this weekend, the Bills gunslinger should see more than enough opportunities to cash in on this player prop again.
