Giants vs Cowboys NFL Week 13 Thanksgiving Predictions & Picks (11/27)
Things haven’t been going well lately for either of these NFC East franchises as they currently occupy the division’s last two positions.
The Giants are hoping that a trip to AT&T Stadium will reverse their fortunes as they head into today’s tilt on a six-game losing streak. Their latest defeat came in the form of Sunday’s 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, surrendering 450 total yards across only nine drives.
The Cowboys were also in a bit of a rut, losing five consecutive outings before defeating the Washington Commanders, 34-26, in Week 12. It was a wild finish to the game as the fourth quarter featured 41 points, however, Mike McCarthy’s team buckled down and held out for the victory.
Another thing going for the Cowboys is that they’ve been nothing but dominant over the Giants, winning the last seven meetings between the division rivals. Dallas obliterated the competition by an average of 18.7 points per game, as well as picking up three wins by three or more possessions.
The Cowboys have had the Giants number for years. Will that continue on Thanksgiving?
The Cowboys’ latest success over the Giants was a 20-15 victory back in Week 4. The biggest difference between that matchup and today’s clash (besides the venue) is the fact that both starting quarterbacks from that game won’t be playing at AT&T Stadium.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott’s season came to an end when he tore his hamstring back in Week 9. Meanwhile, the Giants released Daniel Jones after it became clear that the relationship had run its course, resulting in the franchise turning the starting quarterback role over to Tommy DeVito — who’s questionable to play due to a sore forearm suffered when he threw for 189 yards on 21 completions in Week 12.
Having said that, the Giants can’t be trusted without a legitimate QB. DeVito isn’t the answer under center — and if he can’t play — nor are backups Drew Lock and Tim Boyle.
Cooper Rush isn’t Prescott, but the Cowboys can at least trust him in the pocket. He completed 75.0% of attempts for 247 passing yards and two TDs against the Commanders last week, further providing why he’s one of the NFL’s best backups.
Additionally, Rush has completed 28-of-41 passes (68.3%) for 283 yards, one touchdown, and an interception against the Giants in his career.
Thursday’s matchup with the Giants could be the Cowboys’ best shot at ending their losing streak at home.
In a battle between underperformers, I’m taking the Cowboys to emerge victorious on Thanksgiving Day. The Giants are an abysmal team to watch and continuously come up short on both sides of the ball. Although the Cowboys are far from perfect themselves, they at least have momentum from last week’s win and Rush has more than proven he’s capable of playing mistake-free football.
With that in mind, let’s take the Cowboys to cover the spread — something they’ve done 11 times in their last 15 meetings with the Giants.

Best Giants vs Cowboys NFL Week 13 Player Prop Bet
If you’re crafting an NFL Thanksgiving bet slip and want a Giants vs. Cowboys player prop, I suggest adding Cooper Rush o205.5 passing yards (-118) to the mix.
Even though he hasn’t been perfect, Rush has been racking up some solid performances as the Cowboys’ starting QB. The former Central Michigan product has finished with the Over on this prop in his last two games, averaging 300.5 passing yards with a 91.2 passer rating along the way.
In fact, of the nine career games he’s started, Rush finished with 206-plus yards six times. Interestingly enough, one of those successful occasions came during his lone career start vs. the Giants in Week 3 of the 2022 season.
Although the Giants have played well against the pass this season, they’ve allowed the Over on this prop in three of their last four outings, which includes giving up 294 passing yards to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Back this Rush prop with confidence.
