Daniel Collins’ Week 1 NFL Spread Bet
Tennessee Titans +3.5 (-115) BetOnline
Analysis: Week 1 is here and there are so many storylines to breakdown all across the league. In the Windy City, there are 2 very similar story lines for the Titans & the Bears heading into the season and we are going to get some answers to a lot of the questions in the very first game.
The Bears have higher than normal expectations entering the 2024 season, having added multiple weapons on offense in Wideout Keenan Allen and versatile back D’Andre Swift, to compliment the very nice pieces already in place of Star Wideout DJ Moore & emerging Tight End Cole Kmet.
The Bears also upgraded their offensive line, which was a major need after what we saw from that unit in Chicago last year.
All of these additions and presumable upgrades could lead to a big year in Chi town but it will totally hinge on the play of Number 1 overall pick, Quarterback Caleb Williams.
Now, I believe that this Bears team will be feisty this year, maybe even good, but it is going to take some time for all these pieces to gel. Probably.
However, Week 1’s are not kind to Number 1 Pick Quarterbacks historically and I could see that being the case on Sunday as well.

We will see if the Titans can make it 0-15-1 and I think they do.
Can the Titans Impress in Week 1?
The Titans come in to this game, and this season, with a similar situation to the Bears. New, exciting pieces on offense, revamped offensive line, aggressive defense & a lot riding on a young Quarterback.
The Titans paid Wideout Calvin Ridley big money to bring his talents to Nashville, along with Running Back Tony Pollard as well, to inject energy into this Titans offense and run the new system of first year Head Coach Brain Callahan.
On the defensive side, the Titans also revamped this entire unit. New Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson comes in from Baltimore, along with shutdown corner L’Jarius Sneed from the Super Bowl Champion Chiefs, among with many other upgrades.
Lastly, the Titans revamped their offensive line, bringing in future Hall of Fame coach Bill Callahan to coach up and improve a unit that was one of the worst in the NFL last season.
Just like the Bears, the Titans success and possibilities this season will hinge on the play of 2nd year Quarterback Will Levis.
Levis shined in the back half of the season last year for the Titans, but also was inconsistent and erratic at times as well. The Titans invested a lot in surrounding Levis with talent to give him a true shot to prove that he is the guy.
And I think that he does just that.
This game will be very intriguing to see how both of these almost brand new rosters gel early. It’s hard to look at any data from last season and say it applies in this game, as most of the starters from both of these rosters from last year are elsewhere or out of the league.
So, give me the team with a quarterback who has played NFL snaps, won games and has very good pieces around him that should be able to keep the Bears in check.
Daniel’s Best Bet: Tennessee Titans +3.5 (-115) BetOnline
Titans at +3.5 is a wonderful number and I have also sprinkled the Moneyline for +153 at BetOnline.

Nate Hornung’s NFL Week 1 Best Bet
Dophins -3.5 (+100) BetOnline
Last season, the Dolphins proved they could beat anybody, as long as the game is in sunny, warm weather. Good news for them, they host the Jaguars and the skies will be beautiful. We know how explosive the Dolphins offense is, with all of their returning weapons from last season. I fully expect the Dolphins and company to “Hawk Tua, Spit on That Thang” and roll past the Jaguars this weekend.
The Jags offense certainly didn’t get any better, and starting a handful of rookies on defense makes it very tough to slow down the Dolphins. After trading for Jordan Poyer, I am very high on this Miami defense and think they can very easily shut down Trevor Lawrence and Jacksonville when they come to town. Don’t be afraid of the hook, back the Dolphins at home with me this Sunday.

Cowboys vs Browns Under 41.0 (-115) BetOnline
I’m following the trends for this Week 1 matchup. Last season, the Cowboys’ high-powered offense excelled at home in AT&T Stadium, averaging 36.8 points per game. However, their scoring dropped to 23.3 points per game on the road—a difference of two touchdowns. They struggled significantly away from home.
Similarly, the Browns’ defense faltered on the road but was strong at home, allowing just 13.9 points per game. I expect this trend to continue, making this game a likely defensive battle as the total suggests.

Bills -6.5 (-110) BetOnline
The Bills enter the 2024/25 with a lot to prove. They traded star wide receiver, Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans and starting cornerback Tre’Davious White now plays for the Los Angeles Rams.
Wide receiver, Gabe Davis, departed for Jacksonville and they haven’t really found a way to replace these guys. Rookie, Keon Coleman has drawn headlines but without any actual NFL snaps, it’s hard to say if he’ll live up to the hype.
So why are we betting the Bills? It’s because we’re fading the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have their own rookie wide receiver drawing headlines, and the son of a Hall of Famer; Marvin Harrison Jr.
MHJ looks primed to make an instant impact but with the spotty play of Kyler Murray, I’m not ready to believe just yet. Murray played in 8 games last year, averaged under 225 yards per game and had just threw for 2 or more touchdowns just two times.
Josh Allen threw the most interceptions of his career last year and still managed to throw 28 touchdowns and ran in another 15. He was playing at an elite level and he’s entering this season with a Lombardi-sized chip on his shoulder.

Baker Mayfield o1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-140) BetOnline
Give me the juice! This line has moved from -125 to -140 for good reason. Baker gets an easy target week one in the Washington Commanders on the defensive side. But with many thinking that the Commanders could take a step up offensively, it should mean that we see an action packed game.
The Buccaneers offense is fueled through the air. Even running back Rachaad White like to catch balls. The Buccs could easily roll over the Commanders through the air and I want all part of it.
In his last 10 games of regular season action, Baker has hit his two TD line 7 times. This includes three games with 3+ passing touchdowns. Baker isn’t known for his rushing ability too, so any short yard red zone action has a high chance of being a lob.
