The NFL season is right around the corner! I can smell my favorite dive bar wings already and that means we are nearly complete with our NFL fantasy value picks series! We just wrapped up the mid-round quaterbacks I’m targeting. Now it’s time to find those gems in the late rounds! Today we will be targeting QB’s who can be drafted in rounds 9 and later in your NFL fantasy drafts. Can we find some league winners this late? I think so.
This is an ongoing series to highlight players who REEK of value in NFL fantasy drafts. We aren’t talking about McCaffrey with the 1st overall pick, but instead we are going to be finding gems. Each article will feature a position within a range of draft rounds (we will always skip the 1st round). We will assume that these picks are for 12-team leagues with .5 PPR and will not be discussing in terms of Superflex. On top of that I’ll highlight a futures bet that corresponds with each player, all of whose odds can be found on BETONLINE.
So without further ado, let’s kick it off with NFL fantasy football 2024 late round value picks: the Quaterbacks. It’s mock draft season baby!!!
1. Quaterback Value Rounds 9-13: Jared Goff
Savvy fantasy managers have utilized late round quaterback strategies for years. And while your league settings can change the value of a QB, in most leagues getting a top 10 QB in the later rounds of the draft can allow you to fill our all of your running backs, wide receivers and tight end spots and still manage to get an upside starting QB. When targeting late round QB’s find a strong offense is the perfect match and Jared Goff and the Deatroit Lions are exactly this.
Goff finished as the 7th best quaterback last season in NFL fantasy and has two top 10 performances in a row now. He had 30 passing touchdowns and over 4,500 passing yards last season. And this young Lions team could have one of the top offenses in the league yet again. Goff has shown he can be a reliable fantasy quarterback, particularly in Detroit’s pass-heavy offense. His ability to spread the ball around and execute in the red zone makes him a consistent option, especially in leagues that reward passing touchdowns and yardage. The Lions have shown a tendency to rely on Goff’s arm, especially in shootouts. This high-volume passing approach ensures that Goff gets plenty of opportunities to rack up yards and touchdowns, making him a solid fantasy starter, especially in leagues that reward passing stats.
The list of weapons Goff has at his disposal is impressive. Amon Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, the 1-2 punch of Gibbs and Montgomery and the potential of a breakout season from Jameson Williams. This makes Goff a very enticing pick in the later round of the draft and someone you can confidently draft as your top QB in NFL fantasy.
Jared Goff most passing yards +950 on BetOnline:
This is a risky bet, but one that I think should be considered as a sprinkle. Last season only Tua Tagovailoa had more passing yards than Goff. And while Stroud is a appealing pick as well, I prefer Goff’s odds here. Goff isn’t much of a runner, and the Lions have given him a treasure chest of high flying weapons. If Jameson Williams has a breakout season Goff could be leading the most complete set of receivers in the game. Dak Prescott just tailed Goff last season but has lost some weapons and pieces to the offensive line, and the Dolphins are rumored to want to run the ball a big more. This could be the perfect storm for a huge season from Goff.

2. NFL Fantasy Rounds 9-13 Quaterback: Trevor Lawerence
By all accounts Trevor Lawrence had a disappointing season. He couldn’t bring his Jacksonville Jaguars back to the playoffs and regressed after a phenomenal sophomore season. But he still was the 13th best QB in most fantasy leagues, and actually only had 100 less passing yards and only 5 less touchdowns. Not only is there room for improvement by Lawrence, but we could see a massive jump in the rankings if things go a bit better for him.
Lawrence will now have several years of starting experience, honing his skills and decision-making at the professional level. His arm talent, accuracy, and ability to read defenses will be at their peak, making him one of the most polished quarterbacks in the league. His mobility adds another dimension to his fantasy value. He’s capable of picking up valuable rushing yards and touchdowns, which can significantly boost his weekly fantasy output. This dual-threat capability makes him more versatile and less dependent on passing alone for fantasy points.
As he continues to develop, Lawrence should provide a consistent floor of production with the potential for explosive games. His ability to throw for multiple touchdowns while minimizing turnovers makes him a reliable fantasy starter with a high ceiling. While he may not be a top 5 quaterback, he could still crack the top 10 which is fantastic value at round 11 in NFL fantasy drafts.
Trevor Lawrence o21.5 passing touchdowns for -126 on BetOnline:
Last season Lawrence ended with 21 passing touchdowns. Yes, Calvin Ridley is now gone but the team drafted stud wideout Brian Thomas Jr. If we are looking at last season as a down year than Lawrence should be able to throw some additional TD’s this season. Lawrence has been a healthy QB in his three seasons, so this feels like a safer play for a season long bet.

3. Value Quaterbacks NFL Fantasy Rounds 9-13: Baker Mayfield
The man who seemed DOA when he showed up in Tampa last season turned his entire career around. Baker Mayfield had bounced between teams after being moved by the Cleveland Browns. The former 1st overall pick proved that he had that dog in him last season by putting up a top 10 QB performance to the tune of 28 passing touchdowns and over 4,000 passing yards. He still has all of his weapons in tack and looks to repeat the success he found last season.
Mayfield has shown flashes of high-level play throughout his career, and if he’s in an offense that maximizes his strengths—like a strong play-action game or a system that emphasizes quick reads—he could provide significant upside as a later-round pick. His ability to scramble and make plays with his feet also adds a potential dual-threat element to his fantasy value. Future hall of famer Mike Evans will still do Mike Evans things, and Godwin provides Mayfield with a deadly 2nd option. There’s talk out of camp that rookie receiver McMillan is turning heads as well, giving Mayfield plenty of options.
The division Mayfield plays in should help his success as well. The Saints and Jaguars should still be weak, and while the Atlanta Falcones may have improved offensively they are still suspect on the defensive end. All this leads to the very good chance of Mayfield having a repeat top 10 or top 12 performance, not bad for someone who could be had at the end of your NFL fantasy drafts.
Baker Mayfield 03,500.5 passing touchdowns for -112 on BetOnline:
The sportsbooks seem to think Mayfield will regress, but this would be over 500 less pass yards than last season. Evans has not had less than 1,000 receiving yards in EVERY season he has played in his career. Chris Godwin now has hit 1,000 receiving yards in three straight seasons. These are two highly productive players for Mayfield to target and with another year in the system he may be more comfortable. I love this line.
