Finding those hidden gems in your fantasy football lineup can be the difference between a win and a loss, especially in the early stages of the NFL season. This article aims to identify three sneaky starts for NFL fantasy for Week 4 of the 2024-2025 NFL season.
Making strategic lineup decisions is crucial at this point. The competition is fierce, and one wrong move could set you back. That’s where these under-the-radar picks come into play. We’re not just talking about obvious choices; we’re diving into players who might be flying under everyone’s radar but have a high potential to deliver big points.
Why risk it with lesser-known players? Simple: their matchups are ripe for exploitation, and they offer significant upside with lower ownership percentages. By tapping into these insights, you can gain an edge over your opponents who might be sticking with more traditional choices.
So let’s get into it! Here are three sneaky starts that can give you that much-needed boost in Week 4: Here are some NFL fantasy starts and a best bet
1. Geno Smith o245.5 passing yards -115 on BetOnline:
Geno Smith has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy managers this season. Averaging 15.6 fantasy points a game, he’s helping fantasy managers win games. He’s showcasing precision and confidence in the pocket. Over the past three weeks, Smith has thrown for a touchdown each game and has aired it out nearly every game. He’s been a late round QB that’s been solid for NFL fantasy starts.
- Week 1: 171 yards, 1 passing and 1 rushing TD
- Week 2: 327 yards, 1 TD
- Week 3: 289 yards, 1 TD
The Detroit Lions’ defense has shown improvement but remains susceptible against skilled quarterbacks. Their secondary has allowed an average of 216.7 passing yards per game so far this season. Despite adding some talent in the offseason, they still struggle with allowing big plays downfield.Against the Seahawks’ high-powered offense, these vulnerabilities could be significantly exposed. The Lions’ pass rush hasn’t been consistent either, which bodes well for Smith having time in the pocket to make accurate throws.
This makes Geno Smith a sneaky NFL fantasy start for teams whose starting QB may have a tough match up. His receiving yards also looks like a best bet as both of these teams can score at will.

2. Tyler Conklin o2.5 receptions for -105 on BetOnline:
Tyler Conklin has emerged as a sneaky yet reliable option for fantasy managers in the tight end spot. His breakout game statistics paint a promising picture for Week 4 of the 2024-2025 NFL season.
Conklin had an impressive game recently, catching five passes for 93 yards. This wasn’t just a fluke; his consistent playing time shows that he is becoming an important part of the Jets’ offense. Conklin has been on the field for over 75% of offensive plays, which is crucial for any fantasy player looking for reliability and opportunity.
The Denver Broncos have had their share of difficulties containing tight ends this season. They’ve allowed an average of 70 yards and one touchdown per game to opposing tight ends. This vulnerability makes Conklin a prime candidate to exploit their defense. This makes Tyler Conklin one of the best sneaky NFL fantasy starts of the week.
As Conklin continues to find chemistry with Aaron Rodgers, the amount of targets he receives should continue to grow. Conklin’s receptions prop is just the icing on the cake for a gem of an NFL best bet.

3. Chubba Hubbard o58.5 rushing yards for -115 on BetOnline:
The Carolina Panthers got a new lease on life with Andy Dalton taking the starting quarterback role and beating the Las Vegas Raiders. Now the face a Cincinnati Bengals team who are looking for their first win of the season. While the Bengals may look to spank the Panthers, Dalton would love to give his former team a tough match.
This looks like a mismatched matchup on paper. But the Bengals rushing defense has been miserable, and have been exploited by running backs in three weeks straight. They are averaging 142.3 rushing yards against per game and rank 28th in rushing attacks. Chubba Hubbard has been one of the lone bright spots on the Panthers defense, making him one of the sneakiest NFL fantasy starts of the week.
Over the past two weeks Hubbard has put up 178 rushing yards. He gained the confidence of Dalton last week and will look to keep the trend going against this weak rushing defense. Grab it while you can because Hubbard’s rushing yards could easily be above 65.5 yards after this week.
