See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe Rams are looking to avoid a second straight loss and a second straight loss to a division opponent on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks are 9-0 on Thursday Night Football with Russell Wilson under center. 8 of those wins are against division opponents too.
If the Cardinals are the best team in the NFC West then the winner of this one is second best, right?

Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks Betting Outlook
The Rams lost last week against Arizona. That was a surprise but what was really concerning is that they lost at home and that the game was sewn up by the Cardinals by the third quarter. It is just one game but it showed that the Rams, armed with their new quarterback, are not just going to plunder the NFC. Matt Stafford had another good game. Not great but more than good enough had the defense been better. The Rams are still considered a contender and now might be the time to buy in if you still like them a lot, because their odds have shifted.
What is most concerning for L.A. is that their defense was skewered last week. Arizona rushed for more than 200 yards and QB Kyler Murray looked pretty comfortable last week. Yes, the Rams were able to sack him a few times but their “dominant” defense was definitely not on display. If that group is not at an elite level this team really takes a hit because that is what is supposed to be separating them from teams like Green Bay, Dallas, and some others.
Seattle is Always Tough to Beat at Home
Seattle might have saved their season with their win against San Francisco last week. If they had fallen to 1-3 that might have been too much to overcome in a very competitive division. Seattle has let Russ “cook” for the most part this season, but he has not been putting up big numbers like he did at the beginning of last year. This might be a spot where they really need to let him loose but at the same time, they also might want to run the ball to control the clock.
Seattle is a long way from their Legion of Boom days on defense. They are actually last in the league in yards allowed which is pretty amazing when you consider that there are some terrible teams out there. The Seahawks are dead last against the run and even though that is not a significant strength of the Rams, they might look to emphasize that on Thursday night. Seattle has to find a way to get off the field tonight or else it won’t matter how much Russ cooks.
NFL Betting Trends to Consider for Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks
- In their last nine games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game, the Rams are 6-1-2.
- The Rams are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss.
- The Rams are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
- Seattle is 8-1-2 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games.
- The Seahawks are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games as an underdog.
- The Seahawks are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against fellow NFC West teams.
Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks Best
Seahawks +2.5
This one has been a little weird because it opened around pick’em and then the Rams are now +2.5. Those numbers in the intro speak for themselves. In these situations, Wilson has never lost and this feels like a game where someone is going to have to make and I like Russ to be that guy. Seattle lost their only home game of the season to Tennessee because they couldn’t stop the run. That feels less likely in this game and at night the crowd should be a full throat. Put it together and I will take the points and probably a little on the Moneyline too.
Prop Watch: Matt Stafford Under 37.5 Passing Attempts (-110)
While I like Seattle to cover and maybe even win I think the pace of this game is going to be more of a grinder. The Rams should be able to run the ball and if the Seahawks emphasize that part of things too there just won’t be enough time to put the ball in the air so many times, and they might not need to if they are connecting a lot – Seattle is 28th against the pass. Last week Stafford had a high total but that was a very different kind of game.
