The Chargers lost to the Chiefs at home in Week 4, which moved them to 2-2 on the season. Since then, they have won 6 of their last 8 games, losing only to the Cardinals on the road and the Ravens at home. They are coming off a win on the road in Atlanta, and this is a game that they have certainly had circled.
The Chiefs just keep finding ways to win. A toe on the sideline, a blocked field goal, a botched snap: what do all of these things have in common? They are all methods of victory for the Kansas City Chiefs at home this season. Some may call it a fluke or fraudulent, but others may just recognize the greatness that is in front of them. Regardless, Kansas City is 11-1 on the season and undefeated at Arrowhead. Will the Chargers change that tonight and take down the Super Bowl Champions?

Will Chargers Get Revenge on the Road?

Last time these teams played in SoFi, the Chargers started off very hot. They led 10-0 at the end of the first quarter… but that was it. The Chiefs held them scoreless the rest of the game, and went on to put up 17 unanswered points, winning the ball game by a touchdown. Now that was a long time ago, and the Chargers have been playing very good football recently.
Los Angeles is currently leading the league in points per game allowed, and Kansas City is also in the Top 10, both allowing less than 20 points per game. Even though both offenses are finding their groove, I do think we see another defensive battle. The Raiders took the Chiefs down to the final drive, holding them to under 20 points. The Broncos lost on a blocked field goal, holding the Chiefs to just 16 points.
The only teams this year that have held Kansas City to less than 20 points are the other members of the AFC West. The difference, is the Chargers did so in the comfort of their own stadium. On the road at Arrowhead, I do think they are capable of slowing down this offense, but not enough to actually win the game. I won’t be rushing to back the Chiefs by four points either, because let’s be honest, we already know this game ends in a field goal.

Best Bet: Chiefs ML/Under 49.5 (+120) Bovada
A little two team primetime parlay never hurt anybody! Now, I may be leaving money on the table, because I do think this stays under 43, under 45, and under 47. However, I took an extra pillow, much like I did with the Chiefs ML, and took the alternate under at 49.5 as my pairing.
BetOnline is giving us +120 for the Chiefs to win and under 49.5 points. Other books offered me -105. Highway robbery.
Both teams are coming off very low scoring weeks, for them and their opponent, especially considering their recent performance. I think the defenses step up in this game that could be extremely rush heavy for the home team. With the return of Pacheco in the backfield, he and Hunt serve as a fatal 1-2 punch in the backfield going up against a Chargers’ rushing defense allowing nearly 150 yards on the ground over the past three weeks.
Kansas City could have some very long, meticulous drives that chew plenty of clock, eating away at the Charger’s chances to score. Like I said, I’m sure this game will somehow come down to a field goal, with Kansas City squeezing out another miraculous win, 20-17.
