See Picks & Statistics For The GameThat the Packers are 3-1 is no real surprise, but the same can’t be said for the Bengals. Preseason NFL betting odds viewed the Bengals as likely cellar dwellers in the AFC North and well behind the Ravens, Browns, and Steelers. But entering Week 5, the Bengals are tied with the Browns and Ravens for first place in the AFC North.
Green Bay has rebounded from its horrific opening game against the Saints and looks more like the team that is expected to be in the mix for a championship.
The Bengals have benefitted from a light schedule, but they don’t have to apologize for beating the teams they have. Can they pick up their biggest win of the season today?

Green Bay Packers vs Cincinnati Bengals Betting Outlook
Since their season-opening loss to the Saints, the Packers have won and covered 3 in a row. At the very least, Green Bay looks like a firm favorite in the NFC North.
Aaron Rodgers has been himself since his own clunker of a performance in the season opener. In the last three games, he has thrown eight touchdown passes with no interceptions. When he is this efficient, the Packers are tough to beat. Top target Davante Adams looks good too, and I expect that the offense will creep up the NFL rankings over the course of the season.
Defensively, the Packers are dealing with a number of injuries. Leading pass rusher Za’Darius Smith is out indefinitely, and the other half of the “Smith Bros.”, Preston Smith, got dinged up last Sunday against the Steelers. To add some depth to their front seven, Green Bay signed linebacker Jaylon Smith, who was released by the Cowboys on Tuesday.
Cincinnati Looking to Ride Their Momentum
It’s still early, but that the Bengals are winning games is certainly a surprise.
A lot of the narrative right now is around second-year quarterback Joe Burrow, who is healthy and off to a solid start. He has developed an easy rapport with former LSU teammate Ja’Marr Chase, and running back Joe Mixon is having a solid season. There is certainly a lot of room to grow, but the Bengals have a promising foundation on offense.
Defense is where the Bengals have really made significant strides. They are seventh in the NFL in yards allowed and eighth in points. That improvement means that the Bengals are not always playing from behind, which reduces pressure on Burrow and the offense. The additions they made to fortify this side of the ball have paid off, but Green Bay and Rodgers will be the best offense the Bengals will have faced so far this season.

- Cincinnati is 4-1 ATS in their last five games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
- The Bengals are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a ATS loss.
- The Bengals are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games after accumulating less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.
Green Bay Packers vs Cincinnati Bengals Best Bet
Green Bay -3
I do like what I am seeing from the Bengals this season, but the Packers are still a better team and should handle their business in Cincinnati. Sure, anything can happen, and the Bengals look improved on defense, but I am not totally sold. I can see this game boiling down to a competition between Rodgers/Adams and Burrow/Chase. For right now that is not one that the Bengals can win even at home.
Prop Watch: Green Bay Packers Over 26.5 Points
Simple handicap here. I think the Packers should be able to move the ball with relative ease. At the same time, I worry that their defense is going to have some problems. In short, Green Bay is going to need to score a bunch of points to get the win in this one, and with Rodgers in good form that is exactly what they are going to do.
Green Bay Packers vs Cincinnati Bengals Score Prediction
Green Bay Packers 31, Cincinnati Bengals 21
