See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe NFL Week 18 Falcons vs Saints prediction is brought to you by Bovada. Bovada is a market leader in sports betting, offering various options from the NFL to the NHL and everything in between.
The NFL Week 18 schedule is loaded with important matchups as the 2023 regular season reaches its end, including Sunday’s showdown between the Atlanta Falcons (7-9) and New Orleans Saints (8-8). After all, a victory for either team here combined with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers losing to the Carolina Panthers would result in an NFC South title win.
Winning hasn’t been easy for the Falcons, who dropped to 1-3 SU in their last four games with Week 17’s 37-17 blowout loss to the Chicago Bears. Meanwhile, the Saints have won three of their last four outings, most recently picking up a 23-13 win against the Buccaneers on the road.
Bovada has these rivals as somewhat longshots to win the division this weekend. The Falcons are available at +650 odds to win the NFC South while the Saints’ chances are slightly better at +350, however, both teams trail the Bucs (-250) by a wide margin.
With Atlanta and New Orleans’ postseason fates resting on this game, we have a can’t-miss matchup on our hands. Let’s explore my Falcons vs Saints prediction and best bets to see how Sunday’s showdown just might unfold.

Falcons vs Saints Prediction & Best Bet: NFL Week 18
One path to the playoff is much easier for one of these teams than it is for the other.
Not only can the Saints win the NFC South with a victory, but they can also make the playoffs with a win combined with the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers tying or losing their respective games. Unfortunately for the Falcons, their only shot at making is if they win this game and the Buccaneers lose to the NFL-worst Panthers.
Nevertheless, Atlanta already defeated New Orleans once this season, tallying a 24-15 victory over its rival back in Week 12. At the same time, it’s important to note that the game was played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium where the Falcons are 5-3 SU compared to their abysmal 2-6 SU record on the road. The Saints, meanwhile, have won four of seven outings at Caesars Superdome thus far — including the last two by an average margin of 20 points.
New Orleans hasn’t been perfect in its backyard, but it does allow the 11th-fewest points at home, which could be an Atlanta team that only scores 14.0 PPG on the road (3rd-worst).
Another thing working against the Falcons is their lack of success against the Saints.
Since December 2017, New Orleans has been an impressive 9-3 SU across 12 meetings with Atlanta. While you can argue that the Falcons have some momentum from the Week 12 victory, they also haven’t swept a season series against the Saints since the 2016 NFL season.
In fact, the Falcons are 0-3 SU against the Saints following the three previous victories over their divisional rival, losing those games by an average of 9.3 points. There’s a good chance that trend will continue given that Dennis Allen’s team is 4-2 SU in their last six games as the favorite.
Furthermore, New Orleans is also 6-2 SU against teams with sub-.500 records this season.
While upsets are a part of the NFL experience, I don’t see the Saints losing this weekend. They perform well against losing teams and have locked dominant in their recent home outings. Considering how they’ve also owned the Falcons for the last six or seven years, New Orleans will likely prevail while keeping its playoff hopes alive in the process.
With that in mind, don’t expect a high-scoring affair. Not only is the Under a combined 21-11 for these NFC South rivals this season, but it’s also 5-1 in their last six meetings in New Orleans, finishing with 41 or fewer points in three of the last four.

Best Falcons vs Saints Prop — NFL Week 18
I like the Under on Derek Carr to throw 240.5 passing yards as the best Falcons vs. Saints player prop this weekend.
After all, Carr is averaging just 225.9 passing yards per game this season and has finished with the Under on this prop in six of his last eight outings. Additionally, the Falcons allow the eighth-fewest passing yards per game and have held 15 of the 16 previous quarterbacks they faced to 240 or fewer passing yards.
Carr will still come up and make big plays for the Saints on Sunday, but it’s safe to say expectations should be tempered.
