See Picks & Statistics For The GameAfter a thrilling Sunday of football action, the NFL Week 3 schedule comes to an end with two Monday Night Football showdowns. One of the pair pits the Philadelphia Eagles one-on-one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.
Both teams head into tonight’s game with unblemished 2-0 records. The Eagles remained flawless with last week’s 34-28 victory over the Minnesota Vikings while the Buccaneers exited their home opener in the form of a 27-17 win against the Chicago Bears.
So, will it be Philadelphia or Tampa Bay that improves to 3-0 once the smoke clears?
Here’s a look at tonight’s Eagles vs Buccaneers matchup, including everything from the latest NFL betting odds and trends to the best MNF bets.

Eagles vs Buccaneers Week 3 MNF Preview
Expectations are high for the Eagles this season after finishing as the runners-up to the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LVII. While Philly is 2-0 to begin the 2023 campaign, the team hasn’t looked as dominant as many had hoped.
The Eagles have won their first two games by an average margin of 5.5 points — 9th-best in the NFL. Although that doesn’t look too bad on paper, it’s worth noting that they boasted a league-leading plus-9.3 average scoring margin in 2022.
One of the reasons why Philadelphia hasn’t looked as dominant is that the pass defense hasn’t been that impressive. While the frontline only allows 52.0 rushing yards per game (No. 1), the secondary is allowing an average of 326.0 passing yards (No. 30) on a 67.4% completion rate (No. 23).
The defense can’t afford to continue that trend after how Baker Mayfield performed last week. The Bucs QB looked great against the Bears, completing 76.5% of passes for 317 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts hasn’t been as dangerous under center. His 71.4% completion rate is excellent, but his 181.5 passing yards per game is down from last year’s mark (246.7). He’s also on pace to be sacked 60 times in 17 games after seeing 38 sacks in 15 outings in 2022.
Nevertheless, the Eagles do have the ground game advantage. Nick Sirianni’s team averages 178.0 rushing yards per game (No. 2) with 4.9 yards per carry (No. 5).
The Buccaneers might have a solid run defense thus far, but the Bears and Minnesota Vikings’ ground attacks don’t compare to the Eagles. After all, it was just last week that D’Andre Swift rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.
If the Eagles can establish the run early on and get some momentum going, I see the Buccaneers having a tough time slowing them down.
Eagles vs Buccaneers Week 3 Prediction
Even if the Eagles haven’t been playing up to expectations, I’m taking them to win tonight. Regardless of what’s happened thus far, Philadelphia is still a Super Bowl contender that’s deeper than most teams in the NFL. Tampa Bay just doesn’t have the depth to match that.
Having said that, it won’t be a blowout. The Eagles are only 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games and haven’t excelled at creating separation this year. The home-field advantage should help the Buccaneers keep things closer than expected.
Prediction: Eagles 23, Buccaneers 20
Buccaneers +5 (-115 on Bovada)
Eagles vs Buccaneers Week 3 Player Prop
If you’re looking for an Eagles vs. Buccaneers player prop, let’s go with Philadelphia WR A.J. Brown recording over 68.5 receiving yards.
Brown is off to a relatively slow start to the season, recording 108 receiving yards without a TD on 11 catches. At the same time, I see him bouncing back against a Tampa Bay defense that allows 248.5 passing yards per game (No. 23).
After the Buccaneers allowed D.J. Moore to rack up 104 receiving yards last week, Brown shouldn’t have a problem being productive. Hurts will feed him the ball after last week’s underwhelming performance, resulting in the Over being hit on this prop for the second time in three games.
Bet: A.J. Brown Over 69.5 Receiving Yards (-135 on Bovada)
