Dolphins vs. Texans | Week 15 Predictions, Odds & Best Bets

We’ve got just 4 weeks left in the NFL Season and it’s time the playoff picture began taking shape. The Dolphins playoff hopes haven’t been completely dashed just yet, but if they hope to make a run, they’ll need to continue their winning ways.

Miami comes into Houston to take on the Texans at NRG Stadium; both teams in desperate need of a win. The Dolphins will have 5% chance of making the post-season if they suffer a loss tonight and can increase their chances to 29% with a win.

It looks like the Texans have pretty much secured the AFC South once again this year. Let’s get right into my best bets in this AFC tilt.

Dolphins vs. Texans Analysis & Breakdown

CJ Stroud has been experiencing quite the Sophomore Slump. This season, Stroud’s thrown double the interceptions (9) he did last year and with just 4 games left, it looks like he may not clear the 23 touchdowns he threw last year.

The Texans still lead the division but it hasn’t been easy. The other 3 teams in the AFC South have a combined record of 12-27 this year, with two of the teams still looking for their 3rd win of the year. Stroud and company sit two games ahead of the Colts,  but they do hold the head to head advantage.

Houston made some key additions this off-season, mainly their two new offensive starters; Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon. Mixon’s averaging just under 90 rush yards per game, he’s scored 12 touchdowns and he’s made his presence felt in just his first season with the Texans.

Stefon Diggs remains on the IR and it looks as if he might just be out for the season.

On the other side of the ball, it’s more of the same; elite QB, elite RB and elite WR room. The Dolphins have struggled this year, mainly/completely due to Tue Tagovailoa missing time with a concussion. Tua’s been back and the Dolphins have won 4 of their L5 games.

They enter this one as a 2.5 point dog on the road, with the Texans losing 4 of their L7 games. The Dolphins have struggled in bad weather, but with this one being in a dome, look for the Dolphins to take advantage.

De’Von Achane o4.5 Receptions (-110)

More running backs. De’Von Achane has been one of the lone bright spots for the Miami Dolphins this year. Achane is averaging 85 yards per game from scrimmage, he’s scored 10 total touchdowns, 4.8 receptions per game and he’s scored 10 total touchdowns.

This year the Dolphins have had their ups and downs, mainly due to injuries but the one man that has been stellar all year, is De’Von Achane. Achane’s got no quit in him, he’s finished with 5 or more receptions in 5 of Miami’s L7 games and with this Houston pass rush, I love this spot even more.

The Texans rank 2nd in sacks this year, 11th in QB hurries and 9th in QB hits. With the added preassure, look for Tua to target those check downs just a few extra times this week.

De’Von Achane Anytime Touchdown (+105)

Achane has been great both catching the ball and running the ball this year. He’s averaging just over 5 yards per touch this year and 6 of his 10 touchdowns this year have come through the air. Achane has been one of the Dolphins secret weapons over the last two seasons, but guess what? Secret’s out.

Give me Achane to get into the end zone this week.
