As Week 3 wraps up, most football fans are already looking ahead to Week 4 of the 2022 NFL season. As usual, the league has several interesting matchups to anticipate, starting with Thursday night’s Dolphins vs. Bengals matchup in Cincinnati.
The Dolphins are the last undefeated AFC team after their hard-fought 21-19 victory over the Buffalo Bills. There weren’t too many standout performances, however, running back Chase Edmonds did rush for a pair of touchdowns on only six carries.
Meanwhile, the Bengals now have some positive momentum after securing their first win of the season. Quarterback Joe Burrow was in top shape during the 27-12 win against the New York Jets, throwing for 275 yards with a trio of touchdowns.
Betting News has gathered the latest Dolphins vs Bengals odds from BetOnline Sportsbook to help shed some light on the situation, along with a prediction and best bets for Week 4’s Thursday Night Football matchup.

Miami Dolphins vs Cincinnati Bengals Prediction and Picks
Dolphins vs Bengals Prediction: Dolphins 27, Bengals 20
Dolphins vs Bengals Picks: Dolphins ML (Best Value: +132 at BetOnline) & Under 47.5 Points (Best Value: -110 at BetOnline)
It’s incredibly shocking that the Dolphins are viewed as betting underdogs here. After all, the Bengals enter this game after beating a middle-of-the-road Jets team, while the Dolphins just beat the Bills, who many saw as one of the teams to beat in the NFL.
Even in the Bengals’ victory, they hardly looked overly impressive. By the final whistle, Cincinnati only recorded two more offensive yards than New York despite holding the ball for nearly five more minutes.
The Bengals also haven’t faced any top-tier offenses yet this season, with their opponents averaging only 18.3 points against them. Meanwhile, the Dolphins have averaged 27.7 points through three games — eighth-best in the NFL thus far.
Miami has one of the top aerial attacks in the league right now, averaging 291.3 passing yards per game (No. 4). While Cincinnati does have Joe Burrow and a collection of great pass-catchers, Zac Taylor’s team is putting up 50 fewer passing yards, so the Bengals could have a tough time keeping up with the Dolphins if they don’t start hot.
Obviously, the Dolphins offense hinges on QB Tua Tagovailoa’s playing status. The 24-year-old exited his Week 3 matchup and was evaluated for concussion symptoms, but managed to return. However, the NFLPA wants to investigate if he was even healthy enough to return in the first place.
Nevertheless, I can see the Bengals having problems with the Dolphins defense. Miami did a good job at limiting the damage that Bills QB Josh Allen could do over the weekend and even though the home crowd support helped, the Dolphins’ defenders should be able to give Burrow a tough time.
At the end of the day, the Dolphins have had a lot of success against the Bengals. The former has won 14 of the last 18 matchups between the two AFC foes, including five of the last seven meetings, too.
Furthermore, Miami is also 11-4 against the spread in its last 15 games against the Bengals. For whatever reason, the Dolphins continue to get the better of the Bengals and, with the way things have unfolded so far this season, I could see that trend continuing on Thursday.
As for the total, I’m backing the under. Not only has the total hit the under in six of the last seven Dolphins vs Bengals matchups, but it’s also happened in each of their last five meetings at Paycor Stadium.
