The 2023 NFL Week 3 schedule is hearing, featuring an NFC matchup at State Farm Stadium between the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals. Time will tell if the Cowboys continue their undefeated ways or if the Cardinals can achieve their first win.
The Cowboys continue to look dominant following a 30-10 win over the New York Jets that saw Dallas only allow 170 total yards with four takeaways. Meanwhile, the Cardinals hope for better results after blowing a 21-point lead in a 31-28 loss to the New York Giants.
Will the Cowboys improve to 3-0 on the year? Or do the Cardinals have what it takes to bring down America’s Team?
This week’s Cowboys vs. Cardinals matchup isn’t short on betting opportunities, either. Keep reading for my analysis of the game, including the latest betting odds and the best bets to make.

Cowboys vs Cardinals Week 3 Preview
You’re looking at one of the most lopsided matchups in Week 3. The Cowboys’ -750 moneyline odds — which carry an implied win probability of 88.2% — are second only to the Kansas City Chiefs, who sit at -850 to beat the Chicago Bears.
There just isn’t much reason to have faith in the Cardinals pulling off an upset this weekend. After all, they just blew a massive lead against the same Giants team that the Cowboys stomped 40-0 in Week 1.
Dallas’ defense has been nothing short of elite this year. The unit is giving up an NFL-low 193.0 total yards per game and 3.5 yards per play. That’s without even mentioning how the Cowboys also have the most takeaways (7) while being tied with the Washington Commanders for the most sacks (10).
In fact, Arizona allowed six sacks for 46 lost yards in its season-opening loss to Washington, meaning I won’t be surprised if Micah Parsons & Co. have similar success on Sunday.
I have a tough time imagining Cardinals QB Josh Doubs having success against the Cowboys. The veteran gunslinger is only averaging 180.0 passing yards per game while failing to look like a threat through the air.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys won’t have an issue besting the Cardinals’ defenders — especially through the air. Arizona just surrendered 321 passing yards and a pair of TDs to Daniel Jones, so don’t be surprised if Dak Prescott’s arm is busy all night long.
Fortunately, Prescott looked more like himself last week. After an underwhelming Week 1 showing, the ex-Mississippi State product completed 81.6% of passes for 255 yards and two TDs against a Jets defense that’s supposed to be among the best in the NFL.
With the Cardinals giving up the 12th-most yards to wide receivers, the likes of CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, and Michael Gallup will likely get some early damage done before the Cowboys turn to the run game to finish off the contest.
Cowboys vs Cardinals Week 3 Prediction
This is one of those games where you shouldn’t overthink things. The Cowboys are poised to be Super Bowl contenders while the Cardinals are competing for the first overall draft pick next April.
With elite talent and most positions, the Cowboys will win this one decisively before moving on to their next test.
Prediction: Cowboys 37, Cardinals 14
Cowboys vs Cardinals Week 3 Best Bets
Cowboys -12.5 (-110 on Bovada)
Is a 12.5-point spread massive? Yes, but the Cowboys are talented enough to cover it. Mike McCarthy’s team has already won its first two games by an average of 30 points and while the Cardinals haven’t been blown out yet, giving up 24 unanswered points to the Giants isn’t good for their outlook.
With Arizona also losing six straight home games by an average of 9.8 points, I’m confident that Dallas can win this game by multiple possessions.
CeeDee Lamb Any Time Touchdown (+100 on Bovada)
Although Cowboys vs. Cardinals player props aren’t up yet, I still like the idea of CeeDee Lamb scoring an anytime touchdown on Sunday.
While the 24-year-old is searching for his first TD of 2023, he’s still off to a strong start, having hauled in 15 balls for 220 receiving yards. Now he gets to take on the Cardinals, who have one of the weakest secondaries in the NFL and I don’t see that changing in a week.
With a pair of TDs in his last four road games, look for Lamb to hit paydirt in Glendale.
