Commanders vs Eagles Week 4 Preview
There wasn’t a whole lot to be impressed by when it came to the Commanders’ Week 3 performance.
Washington just couldn’t get the job done when it mattered the most. The Commanders went an abysmal 1-of-9 on third downs and failed to score in two trips to the red zone. For reference, the Bills finished with 60.0% third-down efficiency as well as a 50% success rate inside the red zone.
Defensively, Ron Rivera’s team could barely stop the Bills from having their way. Six of Buffalo’s first nine drives ended with a TD or field goal, which includes only punting the ball once. Meanwhile, the Commanders couldn’t score until their final drive.
With the Eagles being one of the most offensively gifted teams in the league, expect the Commanders’ struggles to continue. Philadelphia just racked up 472 total yards against Tampa Bay, recording 271 through the air and another 201 on the ground.
It’s also hard to imagine the Commanders having much offensive success given how good the Eagles’ defense looks.
The Eagles just held the Buccaneers to 11 points and 174 total yards. On top of that, Philadelphia has held Washington to 17 or fewer points in three of their last four meetings.
Speaking of which, the Eagles have dominated this NFC East rivalry for quite some time, winning nine of their last 12 encounters with the Commanders. Even more impressive is that Philly has outscored Washington by a 6.7-point average during that span.
Things also don’t look promising for the visitors when you take their 2-6 ATS record over their last eight games into account. Meanwhile, the Eagles have covered the spread in four of their last five October games on top of owning a 4-2 ATS record in their six previous Week 4 matchups.
Commanders vs Eagles Prediction — Week 4
The Eagles are poised to win the NFC East and defeating the Commanders is the next step to achieving their goal. Washington’s latest performance proves that it isn’t ready to handle the NFL’s top teams, meaning Philadelphia shouldn’t break much of a sweat.
As long as the Eagles have the same energy they did in Week 3, improving to 4-0 is more than likely.
Prediction: Eagles 27, Commanders 17
Eagles -9 (-110 on SportsBetting)
Commanders vs Eagles Player Prop — Week 4
SportsBetting doesn’t have any Commanders vs. Eagles player props available just yet, but let’s get ahead of the curve by going with a D’Andre Swift anytime touchdown.
Swift has been excellent over the last two weeks, racking up 305 rushing yards and a touchdown on 44 carries. He now gets to face the Commanders, who allowed 168 rushing yards and two TDs to the Bills’ backfield last week.
With the Eagles continuing to feed him the ball, Swift is a scoring threat any time he steps foot on the gridiron.
Bet: D’Andre Swift Anytime Touchdown (+100 on SportsBetting)
