See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe New York Giants haven’t been able to continue the hot start that they had this season, but they couldn’t have a more favorable opponent as they aim to clinch their first playoff spot since 2016, as they will meet struggling and suffering Indianapolis Colts on New Year’s Day.
The Week 17 matchup between the Colts (4-10-1, 2-5-1 away, 3rd in the AFC South) and Giants (8-6-1, 4-3-1 home, 3rd in the NFC East) is set to kick off at 1:00 pm ET tomorrow afternoon, and the action from MetLife Stadium will be televised by CBS.
Since starting the season 7-2, the Giants have won only one of their last six games. But that one win, their 20-12 win at Washington in Week 15, is a crucial win of the highest order.
Because of that win, the Giants have the tiebreaker advantage over the Commanders (7-7-1), and with a win over the Colts, they will clinch the #6 seed in the NFC, which would mean a playoff matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, as of now.
Can Indianapolis potentially make New York have to win at Philadelphia in Week 18, or will they provide no resistance?
Read on for our Colts vs Giants prediction, as well as our picks and analysis for Sunday’s showdown at MetLife Stadium.

Can Barkley and Jones Build Off of Last Week’s Positives?
Following their big win over the Commanders, the Giants could have locked up their playoff spot last week at Minnesota.
Instead, they were doomed by late-game letdowns on defense and special teams as the Vikings walked it off 27-24 on Greg Joseph’s 61-yard field goal.
As disappointing as the loss was, there were some notable positives.
Quarterback Daniel Jones was 30 of 42 for 334 yards and a touchdown, posting his second 300-yard game of the season. He did throw an interception in the fourth quarter when the Giants were driving to try to take the lead, but he helped the Giants score 24+ points for just the fourth time this season and the first time since Week 10 against the Houston Texans.
Also, Saquon Barkley had 84 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and caught nine passes (out of ten targets) for 49 yards. After going four games without tallying 100+ total yards, Barkley had 120 on 23 touches against Washington and 133 on 23 touches against Minnesota.

Indianapolis Colts vs New York Giants Prediction and Picks
Colts vs Giants Prediction: Giants to win
Colts vs Giants Picks: Colts team total under 16.5 (Best Value: -105 at Bovada Sportsbook) & Giants -5.5
Last week against the Chargers, the Colts managed just three points and 173 total yards and averaged just 3.5 yards per play.
It’s hard to do worse than that, so it’s reasonable to expect them to do better against the Giants.
But it’s hard to see them going over their team total against the Giants. The Colts have now scored 16 or fewer points seven times this season, with four of those coming on the road.
Anyone can beat anyone else in any given week in the NFL, but if New York doesn’t wrap up a postseason berth with a win, the stress that they may face in Week 18 will be deserved. The Giants haven’t been overly impressive in recent weeks, but the Colts are absolutely dreadful.
