See Picks & Statistics For The GameThe 2023 NFL Week 15 slate opens as the AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers (5-8) and Las Vegas Raiders (5-8) go head-to-head in a Thursday Night Football showdown.
The Chargers are in a bad place at the moment, going 1-4 SU in their last five games and also losing QB Justin Herbert to a season-ending finger injury. Meanwhile, the Raiders hope to avoid a third straight loss after falling 3-0 to the Minnesota Vikings last week.
While neither team has been eliminated from playoff contention just yet, they’re both long shots to win Super Bowl LVIII. The Chargers are currently tied for the 15th-best odds (+12500) to win the Super Bowl on Bovada while the Raiders are available at +40000 (25th).
If you’re looking to wager on tonight’s AFC West clash, you’ve come to the right place. Keep reading to learn all about my Chargers vs Raiders prediction and best, plus the latest Week 15 TNF odds.

Chargers vs Raiders Prediction & Best Bet: NFL Week 15 TNF
Both AFC West teams will be shorthanded this week as several key players are sidelined with injuries.
In addition to missing Herbert, the Chargers will also be without No. 1 wideout Keenan Allen. The veteran playmaker is out with a heel injury, which is an even bigger blow considering that fellow WR Mike Williams has already been out for the year with a torn ACL.
As for the Raiders, they’ll be missing starting offensive linemen Andre James (ankle) and Kolton Miller (shoulder). Starting RB Josh Jacobs’ availability is up in the air as he deals with a quad-related injury while WR Davante Adams (illness) and DE Maxx Crosby (knee) are expected to be game-time decisions.
Another thing that both teams have going against themselves is their recent play. As mentioned earlier, the Chargers have lost four of their last five games while getting outscored by an average of 5.4 points. What’s even worse is that the offense has completely died off over the last few weeks, made evident by their averaging 7.7 PPG in the last three games.
Having said that, the Raiders haven’t been playing that much better. In addition to their three-game skid, they’ve also been held to an 11.5 PPG over the last four games, failing to score more than 17 in each one.
While the Chargers did beat the Raiders 24-17 earlier this season, it’s worth pointing out that Herbert’s three-TD performance (2 rushing, 1 passing) was the main reason why they won. Backup QB Easton Stick likely won’t have the same impact in his first NFL start.
Additionally, the Chargers have lost three of their last four road games against the Raiders, including the most recent two.
With that in mind, I’m taking Las Vegas to win on Thursday. The Raiders are far from perfect, but they at least have their starting QB and there’s a chance that the likes of Adams and Jacobs will suit up. Throw their recent home success against the Chargers into the mix and it’s easy to like Silver and Black’s odds of winning tonight.
I also recommend backing the Raiders on the spread. The Chargers have only covered the spread once in their last five games, whereas the Raiders are at least 3-1-1 ATS during that stretch. Additionally, Las Vegas is 4-2-1 ATS at Allegiant Stadium this season, which is more reliable than Los Angeles’ 3-3 ATS record on the road.

Best Chargers vs Raiders Player Prop: NFL Week 15 TNF
If you’re looking for the best Chargers vs. Raiders player prop, I have my eyes on Aidan O’Connell throwing for over 202.5 passing yards.
For starters, the Raiders QB has finished with the Over on this prop four times in six career starts, averaging 215.0 passing yards per start. What’s even more impressive is that his average has jumped up to 230.0 over his three most recent appearances.
Tonight, O’Connell has the pleasure of facing the Chargers, who allow the fourth-most passing yards overall and also surrendered 238 yards to him back in Week 4. Even with Las Vegas potentially missing key players, the 25-year-old signal-caller is in a good spot to hit the Over again.
Best Chargers vs Raiders Player Prop: Aidan O’Connell o202.5 Passing Yards (-120 on Bovada)
