See Picks & Statistics For The GameBetween the Kansas City Chiefs’ winning ways continuing and Joshua Dobbs’ heroic performance, Sunday’s NFL Week 9 lineup delivered. The action isn’t over, though, as the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers still must collide in tonight’s Monday Night Football showdown.
The Chargers most recently snapped a two-game skid with last week’s 30-13 stomping against the Chicago Bears. On the flip side, the Jets are seeking their fourth win in a row after squeaking out a 13-10 overtime win over the Giants.
Can Los Angeles prove that last week’s victory was the start of brighter times? Or will New York climb above the .500 mark at MetLife Stadium?
This Week 9 MNF betting preview will address those questions, so keep reading as we check out the latest NFL odds, a Jets vs Chargers prediction, and the best bets to make tonight.

Chargers vs Jets Prediction & Best Bet — NFL Week 9 MNF
The big question heading into tonight’s MNF clash is whether or not the Jets can extend their winning streak to four games.
The best thing that the Jets have going for them is their defense, which has allowed just 15.0 PPG over the last three games. New York has done a terrific job of limiting its opponents’ opportunities during that stretch, averaging 2.3 takeaways per game while allowing just 4.3 yards per play.
While the Jets’ offensive potential has been limited without Aaron Rodgers, RB Breece Hall’s stellar play has helped put points on the board. The second-year rusher has racked up 380 scrimmage yards with three touchdowns over the last three games.
The Chargers are a middle-of-the-road team against the run this season. On one hand, they’ve allowed the seventh-fewest rushing yards to RBs. On the other hand, they’ve surrendered the fifth-most receiving yards to the position, along with five total TDs.
As for the Chargers’ attack, things have been hit or miss lately. Although Brandon Staley’s team is coming off a 30-point performance, it did come against the Bears — the team with the fifth-worst scoring defense.
Before that offensive explosion, the Chargers were held to exactly 17 points in back-to-back losses. Hell, they only have one second-half touchdown in their last four games.
It’ll be interesting to see which version of Justin Herbert shows up for the Chargers tonight. The dynamic gunslinger has played to mixed results lately, throwing seven TDs with four interceptions in his last four games — including a 68.6 passer rating in his last road start.
In the end, I’m taking the Jets to pull off the upset tonight. The Chargers haven’t been great on the road and I don’t like the fact that Herbert has four INTs in his last four games. New York’s defense is unforgiving and any sloppy play will be turned against the visitors.
Having said that, take the Jets to cover the spread. Not only is New York 3-1 ATS at home this season but also 5-1 ATS in its last five games against the AFC West. Meanwhile, the Chargers are only 1-2 ATS on the road while also failing to cover in three of their four previous road games against the Jets.
Chargers vs Jets Prediction: NYJ wins
Bet: NYJ +3.5 (-120 on Bovada)
Chargers vs Jets Best Player Prop — NFL Week 9
Without even thinking twice, I’m taking Breece Hall to record more than 18.5 receiving yards as my best Chargers vs. Jets player prop.
Hall has been one of Zach Wilson’s top pass-catchers in 2023, averaging 2.7 receptions and 27.0 receiving yards per game. The ex-Iowa State Cyclone has finished with the Over on this prop in each of his last two outings, too, recording at least 54 receiving yards in each.
Considering how the Chargers allow 54.9 receiving yards per game (second-most in the NFL), I’m feeling really confident about Hall going off through the air.
Bet: Breece Hall o18.5 Total Receiving Yards (-130 on Bovada)
