See Picks & Statistics For The GameAfter starting the NFL season with impressive road wins over the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots, Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins will look to start 3-0 for the second straight season as they host Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos on Sunday (1:00 pm ET, CBS).
While the 2-0 Dolphins are riding high after two close road wins, the Broncos are looking for a lift after two close home losses to the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders.
Last Sunday’s 35-33 loss to the Commanders was especially difficult for Denver. Wilson connected with Brandon Johnson on a 50-yard Hail Mary to give Denver a chance to send the game to overtime, but he couldn’t connect with Courtland Sutton on the two-point conversion attempt.
Is another gut punch ahead for the Broncos? Or will they pour some cold water on the hype surrounding Tua and the Dolphins and pick up their first win of the season?

Will the Tua Train Keep Rolling Against the Broncos?
No matter the sport, the first few weeks of the season always result in the hype train going wild.
For example, take a look at college football. Currently Deion Sanders and Colorado, who take their high-flying, high-scoring act to Oregon this weekend, are the talk of the first few weeks of the season. Also, Texas is back for the 257th time after winning at Alabama earlier this month.

In the early going of the NFL season, the hype train is hurtling along at high speed for Tua and the Dolphins. Entering Sunday’s battle with the Broncos, the Dolphins are one of only two 2-0 teams in the AFC, along with the Baltimore Ravens.
In many AFC East preseason predictions, the biggest love centered around the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. But with Aaron Rodgers suffering a torn Achilles on his first drive of the season and some early questions about the Bills after a poor performance in their season-opening loss to the Jets, could the Dolphins win the division for the first time since 2008?
That will heavily depend on the health of Tua, whose health issues are well-documented. But at this juncture of the season, oddsmakers have placed him atop the list of NFL MVP favorites.
He’ll have a good chance to add a few more followers to that bandwagon on Sunday.
In their first two games of the season, the Broncos have not impressed against the pass.
Last week, Washington’s Sam Howell, making just his third NFL start, was 27 of 39 for 299 yards and two touchdowns. In Week 1, Jimmy Garoppolo was a very efficient 20 of 26 for 200 yards and two touchdowns in the Raiders’ 17-16 win in Denver.
Based on those first two games, expect success for both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Tua’s top two targets.
In Week 1, Raiders receivers Jakobi Mayers and Davante Adams combined for 15 catches, 147 yards, and two touchdowns on 19 targets. Last Sunday, Howell spread it around a lot more than Garoppolo did against the Broncos, but leading receiver Terry McLaurin still led the way with five catches, 54 yards, and a touchdown on his six targets.
Denver Broncos vs Miami Dolphins Prediction and Best Bets
Prediction: Dolphins to win
Best Bets: Dolphins -6.5 (-110 at Bovada) & Tyreek Hill over 83.5 receiving yards (-115 at Bovada)
Time will tell when it comes to the Dolphins, but they have all the elements to be a contender if they can stay healthy.
Look for them to showcase that in their home opener against the Broncos, who aren’t as bad as an 0-3 record might indicate but will be left to wait at least one more week for their first win under Sean Payton.
