Bengals @ Browns Analysis & Breakdown
The Bengals enter Week 7 in a must-win situation. Cincinnati is now 2-4 on the season and has yet to win back to back games this year. For the Bengals, most of their issues this year have revolved around defense.
Through the first five weeks of the seasons, the Bengals were allowing 29 points per game and didn’t record a win till Week 4, against the Panthers.
Joe Burrow’s been great in his return to action, averaging 263 passing yards per game with 12 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions. His connection with Ja’Marr Chase remains just as dialed in a ever, with Chase averaging 94.2 yards per game and having scored 5 touchdowns through 6 weeks.
The Browns have been bad this year, to put it mildly. They’re 1-5 on the season and just traded their best wide receiver in Amari Cooper and rumour has it that Myles Garrett may also be on his way out.
It looks like Cleveland’s called it a season and unfortunately it’s because of Deshaun Watson. Watson’s been terrible this year, averaging just 170 passing yards per game, with 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions; he’s started ALL SIX of the Browns games this year.
Out of 31 QBs with multiple starts this season, Deshaun Watson has the 4th worst passer rating (76.6) and he’s also been sacked a league high 31 times; Caleb Williams comes in at 2nd, and he’s been sacked just 20 times.

The Browns are bad, Deshaun Watson is bad, and it looks to me like they’ve checked out for the year. Cleveland should have a little extra motivation in this one, with their star running back Nick Chubb finally returning from a gruesome knee injury he suffered last year.
Chubb will make his first start in over a year and he’ll do it at home in front of the Browns’ faithful. It’s going to be an emotional day in Cleveland but this Browns’ offense still can’t move the ball through the air, and in 2024 if you can’t do that it’s hard to put up points.
Deshaun Watson’s not only played poorly, but he’s holding onto the ball way too long, behind a bad offensive line and it’s leading to an insane amount of sacks.
Watson’s taken 31 sacks on the year, been knocked down 36 times, and he’s being blitzed at the 2nd highest rate in the league. The Bengals haven’t had much success getting to opposing quarterbacks this year, but against this Browns team, I’m expecting a heavy dose of the blitz.
Cleveland’s scored more 18 or more points just once this year, and it was back in Week 2. The Bengals defense has been sub-par this year, but in a tough divisional matchup, points usually come at a premium. It’s gonna be a sweat, but tap in on this under with me.

Tee Higgins o61.5 Receiving Yards (-115) via BetOnline – Get a $500 WELCOME BONUS
Outside of his first week back in the lineup, Tee Higgins has out-targeted Ja’Marr Chase. He currently sits just 5 targets behind Ja’Marr on the year, despite playing 2 fewer games. Tee was on the field for 85% of the team’s snaps last week, and he caught all 7 of his targets, for 77 yards.
In the two weeks prior, he recorded 24 targets, 15 catches and 143 receiving yards. He scored two touchdowns but both came in the same week, Week 5 against Baltimore. The Browns have had a relatively easy schedule when it comes to opposing quarterbacks.
This season they’ve faced off with Daniel Jones, Trevor Lawrence, Gardener Minshew and a struggling Jalen Hurts. Last week AJ Brown finished with 116 yards on 6 catches with Devonta Smith recording 64 of his own.
Both Malik Nabers and Wan’Dale Robinson torched this secondary, finishing with 15 combined catches and 139 yards. This week with both Tee and Ja’Marr on the docket, look for a similar outcome against the Cleveland secondary.
