Ravens vs Chargers Predictions
After Sunday Night Football this past weekend, it was hard to ignore the collapses that unfolded. The Chargers barely squeaked by the Bengals, largely thanks to Cincinnati’s kicker, Evan McPherson, who missed two field goals that could have given the Bengals a huge second-half comeback victory. Meanwhile, the Ravens faced kicking issues of their own for the first time in over a decade. Kicking legend Justin Tucker went just 1/3 on field goal attempts, and had he made even one more, the Ravens might have won. Instead, they lost 18-16 to the Steelers, who didn’t score a single touchdown but won on field goals.
The Ravens should be furious about their loss to the Steelers and come out swinging against a Chargers defense that hasn’t seen a legitimate offense until last week’s game against the Bengals. They’re in for a real letdown against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens offense, which is ranked #1 in yards per game, #2 in points per game, and #2 in rushing yards per game. This high-powered offense now faces a defense that’s held many teams under 20 points—but none of those teams are worth bragging about, except maybe the Chiefs. Last week’s win over the Bengals is hardly impressive given how dysfunctional Cincinnati’s defense has been all season.
Baltimore should come out firing, as they’ve averaged two touchdowns in the first half this season. After their embarrassing loss to Pittsburgh last week, they’ll be looking to prove a point. Expect the Ravens to roll through the Chargers at SoFi Stadium, still riding high after their win over a weak Bengals team.
No need to worry about the whole game in this one—let’s get in and get out. Take Baltimore to win the first half.
