See Picks & Statistics For The GameOur 2nd game of the Monday Night Football Double Header is in Sin City as the Las Vegas Raiders host the Atlanta Falcons at Allegiant Stadium. Once again, we have two teams on opposite sides of the spectrum.
The Raiders started off 2-2, with a HUGE road win over the Baltimore Ravens. But since then, they have lost nine straight games. They were a botched snap away from spoiling the Chiefs’ holidays for a 2nd straight season, however the team has very little to play for as a whole.
The Falcons are one game behind the Buccaneers in the NFL South standings, and Tampa Bay is wrapping up a win against the Chargers as I type. Beating an inferior Raiders team would be massive in keeping their divisional title and playoff hopes alive. Atlanta is 6-7, and finds themselves on their own four game losing streak, 3 of which have been on the road. Can they bounce back on Monday against Las Vegas?

Kirk Cousins in Sin City on Monday Night
The Falcons have been competing in most of their losses, but the last two on the road have been brutal. Atlanta lost by 21 to the Vikings last week, and to the Broncos in Week 11 by 32 points, producing just 6 on offense. While this Raiders’ team might not be motivated by the playoffs, they can certainly play spoiler down the stretch.
Offensively, the Falcons actually put up more points away from home, but that clearly has not been the case recently. Defensively, both squads are in the Bottom 7 in points allowed per contest, giving up a combined 53.4. The Raiders haven’t scored 20 in over 4 weeks, and have only done so in 5/13 games this year. I trust them to have more success moving the ball at home against a weaker Falcons’ defense, but putting my coin on Las Vegas to score makes me want to puke.
Atlanta hasn’t covered a spread in their L4 games, but they need this win much more than their hosts. I’ve got to lean with Kirk to show out and lead his team to victory in prime time, but I do not think I’ll take -5.5 to the counter.
Atlanta Falcons vs Las Vegas Raiders Best Bets
Atlanta vs Las Vegas Prediction: Falcons Win & Cover, Over 44.5
Best Bet: Falcons 1H -3 (-110) SportsBettingAG
Despite Atlanta ranking in the bottom 7 in 1H possession share, they are Top 12 in points per first half. They are good for 12.4 points per first half, increasing slightly on the road. Now, defensively, they tend to give up points to their opponent early, however I don’t see that being the case against Las Vegas.
The Raiders score just 8 points per first half, giving up over 12 in the process and nearly 14 at home. They are bottom 6 in first half time of possession, and I see the Falcons scripted plays finally coming to life early. They’ve scored double digits in the first half in 9/13 games, and I don’t think Las Vegas will be able to limit Kirk and all of his weapons on offense. Give me 10-6 at halftime to cash this play in a pool of sweat.
