The Philadelphia Eagles head into the 2019 NFL season with plenty of optimism, but with a few question marks as well. Philadelphia got off to a rough start during the 2018 regular season but ended up reaching the playoffs as a Wild Card team in the NFC. The Eagles defeated the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card round before losing to the New Orleans Saints. Injuries have plagued the Eagles in recent years, and staying healthy will be a top priority.
The Eagles rallied to finish the 2018 regular season with a record of 9-7 to finish in second place in the NFC East. Philadelphia snuck into the playoffs as the sixth seed but was able to win a playoff game. The Eagles were an average team to bet on in 2019, finishing with a 9-9 record against the spread.
Key Moves in Offseason
The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t make a lot of huge moves in the offseason, but they did lose a valuable asset at quarterback. The Eagles were willing to let Nick Foles go in the offseason and are banking on Carson Wentz staying healthy in 2019. Philadelphia also brought in running back Jordan Howard in a trade with the Chicago Bears in an effort to find a solid running back.

Key Players
Carson Wentz: Keeping quarterback Carson Wentz healthy and on the field is priority No. 1 for the Eagles this season. Wentz played in just 11 games a season ago but still threw for over 3,000 yards and 21 touchdowns. The Eagles no longer have a talented backup in Nick Foles, and Wentz needs to play in all 16 games.
Zach Ertz: Ertz is one of the best tight ends in football, and he continues to put up big numbers for the Eagles. Ertz caught 116 passes for over 1,100 yards a season ago, finding the end zone eight times. Opposing defenses are constantly looking for ways to contain the big tight end.
Jordan Howard: The Philadelphia Eagles have struggled to find a consistent running back in recent seasons, and so they went out and traded for Jordan Howard. Howard was a 1,000-yard rusher with the Chicago Bears and should be a huge boost to this Eagles offense.
Rookie Class: Offensive tackle Andre Dillard was the Eagles’ first-round draft pick in the 2019 Draft. Dillard is expected to be a starter on the offensive line. Philadelphia also selected running back Miles Sanders and wide receiver JJ Arcega-Whiteside in an effort to have more playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.

Predictions to Season/Bets to Make
The Philadelphia Eagles were suffering from a bit of a Super Bowl hangover during the 2018 season, but that should be behind them this season. The Eagles are the favorites to win the NFC East at -110, and that is a bet that you should make. Philadelphia is going to win the division this season, but they are not going to win the NFC or the Super Bowl. Vegas has set the win total at 10 wins, and the smart bet here is the OVER. Philadelphia just looks like a team that is set to have a big year in 2019.
