The current football season has been one of the busiest in recent memory and it has only increased fans’ excitement for the 2022 NFL season.
Even though there are still about four months until the new campaign begins, there are still other ways that football fans have occupied themselves. That includes taking advantage of early 2022 NFL betting markets.
One of the more popular markets includes betting on future division winners. Some teams have made serious changes over the last few months and it’s only fitting to bet on whether or not they’ll pay off.
The divisional odds below are from BetOnline Sportsbook, however, you can find the same markets on all of our trusted sportsbook partners.
2022 AFC Betting Odds
Odds are via BetOnline.
Odds to Win AFC East
- Buffalo Bills (-180)
- New England Patriots (+400)
- Miami Dolphins (+400)
- New York Jets (+2000)
It’s no surprise to see that the Buffalo Bills are favored to win the AFC East. The Bills have won their division in back-to-back seasons and it wouldn’t be shocking if they did it for a third time in a row.
The Bills constantly have one of the best offenses in the year thanks to the likes of Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. Their defense has also taken a step up after signing two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller to a massive contract this season, as well as thanks to the organization drafting former Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam 23rd overall.
Teams like the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins should make things interesting for the Bills. The Bill Belichick and the Patriots are never a team to underestimate, while the Dolphins’ offense could be threatening after Miami acquired wideout Tyreek Hill.
Meanwhile, the New York Jets should be stronger this year, but likely won’t make a dent in the AFC East race.
Odds to Win AFC North
- Baltimore Ravens (+200)
- Cleveland Browns (+200)
- Cincinnati Bengals (+210)
- Pittsburgh Steelers (+850)
The AFC North was one of the closer divisions last season as only two games separate first from last place. Things should be just as tight this year with the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns sharing +200 odds to win it all.
The Ravens began the 2021 campaign as one of the best in the NFL, only to miss the playoffs due to a six-game losing streak to close out the year. They’ve had some time to fix what went wrong and having one of the best half of the 2022 draft should help a lot.
The Browns shouldn’t be ignored either now that Deshaun Watson is their starting quarterback. He’s a massive upgrade over Baker Mayfield and should bring results to the franchise assuming that any off-field issues don’t prevent him from playing.
And, of course, you can’t count out the Cincinnati Bengals, who are close behind at +210. They just went to the Super Bowl in February and will likely be hungry for more after their experience.
The Pittsburgh Steelers could also make a run at some point this season, but they’ll need to figure out their identity first. Still, playmakers on both sides of the ball like T.J. Watt and Najee Harris always make them a threat.
Odds to Win AFC South
- Indianapolis Colts (-110)
- Tennessee Titans (+145)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (+700)
- Houston Texans (+2600)
After the Tennessee Titans have won back-to-back AFC South titles, the Indianapolis Colts are the new favorites to win the division in 2022.
Matt Ryan under center immediately makes the Colts’ offense that much better. They already had an elite offensive line and a great defense, so his presence certainly makes them more of a complete team.
The Titans should still be good, especially if Derrick Henry can pick up from where he left off. However, there’s still questions about the passing game after Tennessee traded A.J. Brown this offseason. They must prove that they can still be a threat.
The Jacksonville Jaguars should be better than they have been in recent history, but the jury is still out as to whether or not they can even be a .500 team just yet.
Meanwhile, the Houston Texans aren’t menacing due to their lack of improvements this offseason. There’s a reason why BetOnline Sportsbook is favoring them to win four or fewer games in 2022.
Odds to Win AFC West
- Kansas City Chiefs (+155)
- Los Angeles Chargers (+240)
- Denver Broncos (+260)
- Las Vegas Raiders (+700)
One of the more exciting divisions to watch in 2022 is the AFC West. Although the Kansas City Chiefs have dominated by winning the division six years in a row, but things could change this fall.
Each of the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders have all made significant improvements this offseason. It isn’t unfathomable to say that any of the four AFC West teams could win the Super Bowl and no one would be surprised.
Every team in the division possesses an elite-caliber offense that could put up 30-plus points on any given night. At the end of the day, it’ll come down to which team’s defense steps up the most.
The Broncos owned one of the better defensive units in the NFL last season, so it’ll be interesting to see if they can repeat that feat. Otherwise, things here could be wide open.
2022 NFC Betting Odds
Odds are via BetOnline.
Odds to Win NFC East
- Dallas Cowboys (+105)
- Philadelphia Eagles (+240)
- Washington Commanders (+450)
- New York Giants (+700)
The NFC East can be one of the tougher divisions to predict at times. There hasn’t been a back-to-back winner in nearly 20 years and each of the teams has won the division at least once since 2011.
The Dallas Cowboys are favored to win the NFC East for the second straight year and it shouldn’t be surprising after they led the league in points scored in 2021. Amari Cooper might be gone, but Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and Ezekiel Elliott are more than talented enough to handle things alone.
The Philadelphia Eagles will be another interesting team to watch after their impressive showing at the 2022 NFL Draft. Jalen Hurts will need to have a rebound performance under center if the Eagles hope to finish atop the division, of course.
The Washington Commanders and New York Giants are two up-and-coming teams, but still have much to prove before they’re divisional threats again.
Odds to Win NFC North
- Green Bay Packers (-170)
- Minnesota Vikings (+280)
- Detroit Lions (+850)
- Chicago Bears (+950)
The Green Bay Packers have been kings of the NFC North, winning the division three straight times as well as in eight of the last 11 seasons. Even though they took a hit by trading away Davante Adams, they should still be fine.
Aaron Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP for a reason and can turn just about any player into a valid contributor. At least, he has in the past. It remains to be seen if he can still do that at 38 or if the Packers will need another game plan.
If Green Bay falters, the Minnesota Vikings will be there to pick up the pieces. Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson are among the best players at their position and could be ready to take the Vikings to the next level.
The Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears have bright pieces, but still have too many questions on both sides of the ball to be real NFC North threats in 2022. Maybe next year.
Odds to Win NFC South
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-320)
- New Orleans Saints (+380)
- Carolina Panthers (+1300)
- Atlanta Falcons (+2400)
The NFC South is one of the few divisions where there’s a clear-cut favorite. In this case, it’s the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are still a threat after winning Super Bowl LV just over a year ago.
The Buccaneers have brought back most of their roster, including Tom Brady, who continues to defy age. Even after losing some key pieces like Antonio Brown and Ndamukong Suh, the Bucs are elite enough on both sides of the ball to win the division again.
The New Orleans Saints have the next best odds, but have many question marks. Can Jameis Winston pick up from where he left off before his ACL tear? Is Michael Thomas still elite after missing a year? Can the offensive line success without Terron Armstead? Until these questions are answered, expectations should be tempered.
The Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons won’t be close to being NFC South threats this year. BetOnline Sportsbook’s win total odds project them to be among the NFL’s worst as well.
Odds to Win NFC West
- Los Angeles Rams (+140)
- San Francisco 49ers (+185)
- Arizona Cardinals (+350)
- Seattle Seahawks (+1000)
The NFC West is shaping up to be a tight race too, led by the Los Angeles Rams as they’re coming off of their Super Bowl LVI victory.
The Rams boast an elite offense and defense, which has been maintained over the offseason. They’re now one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LVII and it’s tough imagining too many teams standing in their way of doing that, let alone winning the division.
The San Francisco 49ers should pose as a threat, though, after recording a Super Bowl and two NFC Championship Game appearances in the last three seasons. The 49ers also have an elite running game that should continue making them one of the toughest teams to beat.
You can’t count out the Arizona Cardinals either, though, but questions around Kyler Murray’s future with the team has left things uncertain. It also doesn’t help that No. 1 wideout DeAndre Hopkins will miss the first six games of the year due to a PED suspension.
The Seattle Seahawks used to be an NFC West threat, but losing Russell Wilson this offseason and replacing him with Drew Lock should have them finishing in the division’s basement.
