The NFC West Division within the NFL consists of 4 teams on the West Coast. The Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks will battle in 2022 for the NFC West title.
Last season, The Rams, Cardinals, and 49ers all finished within two games of each other, but the Rams were victorious intaking the title. All three of those teams made the playoffs, and the 49ers faced off against the Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
This upcoming season, it is expected to be another close race for the top spot in the division. The Rams are the favorite to repeat, but San Francisco has proven their ability to play with the defending champions.

2022 NFC West Predictions
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are the defending Super Bowl Champions. They had a great run in the playoffs last year with Matthew Stafford, who was in his first year with the team. Los Angeles finished with the 8th overall offense and a Top 5 passing game.
Surprisingly, the Rams finished in the middle of the pack defensively last season. They gave up the 3rd most points in the league, but were able to counter offensively and post a 12-5 record.
The Rams are a favorite for the Super Bowl in 2022. Their impressive performance with Matthew Stafford as their new quarterback should only improve as he enters his second year with the program. 13-4 sounds like a good bet for one of the best passing games in the league.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers shocked everyone last season, making the NFC Championship game and falling just short of a Super Bowl appearance as the #6 seed in the NFC. They had a Top 10 offense and defense overall, which makes them a true contender again in 2022.
Will Jimmy Garoppolo be the starter for the whole season in San Francisco? There are talks of him being traded, which would put Trey Lance in the spotlight for his sophomore campaign. However, I don’t see Garoppolo leaving, which would keep San Fran in the running for the season.
I see another playoff appearance for the 49ers, and they should have a better seed than last season. Their record screams 11-6, as they will play an easier schedule due to their 3rd place finish in the division last season.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals started hot last season. However, they fell off towards the end of the year and had to settle with a loss in the Wild Card Round to their division rivals, the Los Angeles Rams.
Kyler Murray had a pretty good season in 2021, passing for just under 4,000 yards and 24 touchdowns. He only threw 10 interceptions, and the Cardinals were the 10th best team passing last season.
The defense was solid, being Top 10 in points against in 2021. They will be in the playoffs again, but I don’t expect the same record this season. 10-7 is a good bet as the last playoff team in the NFC.
Seattle Seahawks
Seattle has some problems heading into 2022. They lost Russell Wilson at quarterback, and they are expected to be towards the bottom of the league offensively.
Seattle is a good value bet for being the worst team in the league this year. They were awful against the pass last year, ranking 31st in each major category. That doesn’t look to be improving over the offseason, and they will struggle against their divisional opponents who all rely on the pass.
The offense will take a hit with Drew Lock at quarterback, so the running game will see an increase in volume. 3 or 4 wins would be a great accomplishment for a team who is completely dismantled heading into the season.
