Syracuse vs NC State Predictions
Everyone has been trying to talk me off the ledge on this game all week. My smart friends think I’m a lunatic, and my dumb brain thinks I am sharp as hell. But whether you know me or not, I live by one rule in sports betting: always trust your plums. So, I’m ignoring the doubters and riding with the Wolfpack this weekend. Sure, they’re 0-6 against the spread this season and 0-2 straight up as underdogs, but there are plenty of reasons to back NC State in Week 7, so let’s dive face first into this matchup.
Syracuse is coming off a road win in Las Vegas against UNLV—a game they probably shouldn’t have won. Regardless, it was a big win for the Orange against a ranked opponent. Now, they’ve traveled back to New York, only to head down to Raleigh, North Carolina this week. That’s two straight weeks of travel. After an emotional overtime win as road underdogs, Syracuse is due for a letdown.
On the other side, NC State has underperformed, sitting at 3-3 and, as mentioned, 0-6 against the spread. But they’ve faced a tougher schedule, taking on Tennessee and Clemson—two teams that have been rolling. Meanwhile, Syracuse’s toughest battles came against Georgia Tech, a team that seems to only play well outside the U.S., and UNLV. Neither of those teams is in the same league as Clemson or Tennessee. The Wolfpack should be well-prepared for this game.
And with Grayson McCall down with a concussion, freshman backup quarterback CJ Bailey should bring a dynamic new look to NC State’s offense. The 6’6”, 200-pound freshman threw for nearly 300 yards last week against Wake Forest, completing 66.7% of his passes with two touchdowns and one interception after McCall’s injury.

I’ve been leaning toward the Wolfpack all week, and now it’s time to make it official. Give me NC State on the spread.
