We’ve got some more SEC football as the South Carolina Gamecocks head to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers.
These teams are led by some stud Quarterbacks in Joe Milton and Spencer Rattler, it will be interesting to see them face off.
Last year in South Carolina, Spencer Rattler out performed Hendon Hooker for most of the game before he got hurt and Milton stepped in. Rattler was 30/37 passing with 438 yards and 6 TDs.
The Gamecocks stomped the #5 Volunteers 63-38.
Now it’s time for some Tennessee revenge at Neyland.
Let’s break it down!

Will the Rattler Magic Come to Knoxville?
So far this season, Rattler ranks 10th among QBs in passing yards with 1,242. He has 7 Passing TDs, 1 Rushing TD, and just 2 INTs.
The Gamecocks are 2-2 this season, with a loss to North Carolina to start the season, and then a loss at Georgia where they put up a decent fight.
South Carolina lost that game, and now they face Tennessee, another ranked SEC opponent on the road.
The Gamecocks beat Mississippi State last weekend, 37-30, with Rattler throwing for 288 and 3 TDs.
He’s been squeaky clean all year, but he both of his picks came on the road against Georgia.
Will we see something similar in Tennessee?
South Carolina vs Tennessee Best Bets
Since taking over as the Vols starter, Milton III is 5-1, including 56-0 win at Vanderbilt last season, and a bowl win over #7 Clemson.
Starting 3-1 this year, with their only loss coming in the Swamp against Florida, Tennessee is handling business this year otherwise.
Now, as 11.5 point favorites against a solid South Carolina team that is battle tested, this will be a tough one for the Volunteers.
Add in the weight of an SEC contest, and wow, we’re in for a showdown.
With a total of 63 points, it’s likely we see some fireworks in Knoxville on Saturday.
We’ve seen both this Tennessee and South Carolina team put up points, and it will be difficult to stop these stud QBs.
i’m more confident in points for both teams than I am for Tennessee to cover, so I’ll take the over in this one.
The Pick: SC/Tenn Over 63 (-110) Bovada
College Football Player Props
Jabari Small over 57.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
Small is the lead back for this Volunteers offense, and he takes some pressure off of Milton’s arm.
He’s cleared this line in 3/4 games this season, 6 of his L10, and 14/L27 in his collegiate career.
Last year in South Carolina, he rushed 11 times for 80 yards, averaging 7.3 yards per carry in that game. This year, the Gamecocks allow nearly 130 rushing yards per game to opponents.
This season, he’s carrying the ball 10.5 times per game for an average of 6.1 yards. He’s had a 38+ yard rush in two games this season, and a TD last game.
Small also cleared this line with just 9 carries last weekend, and as I expect Tennessee to lead most of this game, I think our guy gets plenty of touches from the backfield.
