The Guaranteed Rate Bowl is happening down in Arizona, as the Kansas Jayhawks take on the UNLV Rebels.
UNLV started off 6-1 on the year, but finished just 3-3, losing their last two games by an average of 15 points. As 11 points underdogs to the Jayhawks, they may be in for a bit of a beating.
The Jayhawks surprised a lot of people this year, winning their first four games in dominate fashion. After losing Jalon Daniels, Jason Bean has stepped up to lead Kansas to an 8-4 record and a bowl game!
Despite losing 2 of their last 3, they looked incredible against Cincinnati, and I have a feeling the Jayhawks come to play tonight.
Let’s break this game down!

Spread
- Kansas -10.5 (-105)
- UNLV +10.5 (-115)

- UNLV +320
Total
- Over 67 (-110)
- Under 67 (-110)
Now, as a Jayhawk homer, take everything in here with a grain of salt, but I like Kansas to roll tonight.
Team morale is at an all time high, with some renovations coming to Memorial Stadium before next season. Jayhawk Football is on the come up, and it starts with a great bowl game to cap off a historic season.
With that being said, I am not betting on Kansas to cover or even win tonight, I will instead be targeting a player prop.
This guy has stepped up for his team in need, and has excelled under pressure, so I’ve got no problem backing him to go off in a showdown tonight.

Jason Bean Over 23.5 Rushing Yards (-115) Bovada
Bean commands the triple option for the Jayhawks offense, and despite not running it all that much by himself, when he does, it is electric.
For starters, he’s cleared this line in just 4/9 games this season, but has 40+ in all four games, 60+ in two of them, and 92 rushing yards his last time on the field.
Bean has had a 17 yard rush in 6/9 games this year, making it very likely he clears this line in just one run.
Now, UNLV’s rushing defense is horrendous, especially recently.
They rank 80th in the FBS, allowing over 160 yards on the ground per game, however, that number jumps to over 170 away from home. The Rebels also give up well over 4 yards per carry, ranking 74th in the nation.
But recently, those numbers grow.
Last game, the Rebels allowed 301 yards on the ground, and average of 6 yards per carry. In their L3 games, they average 292 rushing yard allowed, and 5.7 yards per attempt.
You do not want to face a a Jayhawks rushing offense that ran for 312 yards the last time they took the field. Averaging over 6.3 yards per carry over the past 3 games, I like the Jayhawks to run all over the Rebels.
Bonus Pick: I’m also sprinkling on Jason Bean to breakout and find the end zone at (+210).
