Oklahoma is the lone undefeated team left in the Big 12, but that doesn’t count for much in the College Football Playoff rankings. This week, the Sooners remained eighth, stuck behind two other undefeated teams and five one-loss teams.
The Sooners’ trip to Baylor is one of three tough games ahead of them, along with a Big 12 title game matchup that could come against rival Oklahoma State. Oklahoma needs to keep winning, and they need to look good doing it.
Baylor took a major hit to their Big 12 title chances last week when they lost at TCU. They might have been overlooking the Horned Frogs, who were playing their first game without longtime TCU head coach Gary Patterson.
The Bears return home and are underdogs against the Sooners. They are 1-0 SU & ATS in that role this season.

Oklahoma Sooners vs Baylor Bears Best Bet
Oklahoma Sooners -4.5
The Sooners are coming off of a bye week, and the scary thing is that the off week might have given them even more time to prepare for attacking Baylor.
It is scary to think what kind of numbers freshman sensation Caleb Williams would have if he had started all season. In three games he has posted QB ratings over 240. But as their offense has progressed this season their defense has regressed. They pretty much have to win shootouts, which they are very capable of doing.
Last week’s game looked like a gimme for Baylor, but the Bears could not find a way past an inspired TCU team. Now they are behind the eight ball to finish in the top two in the Big 12 standings. In the loss, they could not stop TCU from throwing the ball, which is a very dangerous development with Oklahoma visiting. When Baylor has the ball, they are very balanced and have one of the best rushing attacks in college football. They are going to have to try and use the clock on offense to give their defense a chance to catch its breath.
Once Oklahoma’s offense gets going, the Sooners will be tough to stop. Baylor HC Dave Aranda is a defensive coordinator at heart, but slowing down the Sooners is going to be very tough. Unless the Bears can hold them under 30 points in this one, I don’t see them having much of a chance to keep it close. Maybe they can find a way to rattle Williams. Nobody has figured that out yet though. This number is a gift, and you shouldn’t pass it up.
