Georgia is still undefeated and still at the top of the polls, and they came in first in the initial College Football Playoff rankings. Last week they beat rival Florida, so this is a natural letdown spot against Missouri.
Mizzou plays alright on offense, but they are brutal on defense and are 0-8 ATS for the season. That is impressive. Impressively bad.
Few teams go that long without covering, so maybe they break that streak this week. Challenging Georgia seems unlikely, but maybe they can keep it closer than expected.

Mizzou can throw the ball. QB Connor Bazelak is having a nice sophomore season and the Tigers can run the ball enough to keep opponents honest. But can they have success against the best defense in college football? Last year they were able to score 14 points against the Dawgs. The offense is probably better this season than it was a year ago, but the same goes for that UGA defense. Meanwhile, Mizzou’s defense is terrible. They are 130th against the run, so the Bulldogs may just be able to mash their way to success.
Georgia’s game against Florida was scoreless for the first quarter, then the Bulldogs exploded for 24 points to take control. That happens a lot. They are just so physical and eventually wear you down to make a mistake. Once again it was QB Stetson Bennett at the controls, but in reality the offense was modest. They did have success running the ball against the Gators, and it is hard to imagine they won’t this week. The defense continues to be elite. They are giving up less than a touchdown per game and are second in the nation in yards allowed.
This is a lot of points is a lot to give up, but I just couldn’t get away from how dominant Georgia has been this season. Plus this game is at home. At this point the Bulldogs don’t need style points. But they are just so dominant that it is hard to see a middling team having much success. The backdoor is scary, but the side seemed better than taking the under as this game could easily be something like 49-0. Georgia beat Arkansas, who is better than Missouri, 37-0 at home earlier in the season. Look for a similar scoreline tomorrow.
