The newly ranked Kansas Jayhawks head to Austin to face the #3 team int he country, the Texas Longhorns.
Both teams are 4-0 to start the season, but Texas is obviously superior and has a huge win on the road against Alabama. Kansas shouldn’t be overlooked though, the Jayhawks are electric on offense, however they do struggle to stop the ball.
Let’s breakdown this exciting matchup!

What is Going On With the Total?
If you caught my very first article this week, we actually snagged the over in this game at 61.5, thinking it would move up. Which it did… initially.
I released a NCAA Football Week 5 Preview, at which point this line was 63-63.5 across the market, like expected. At that point, I recommended snagging 62.5 on Bovada.
Now here we are today, I’ve got an over 61.5 ticket in my pocket, and the best line is actually 61. It’s too late to cash out now, but I’m riding this over.
The Jayhawks score a ton of points, but struggle to stop the other team’s offense. With an electric offense like the Longhorns, I think Texas should run all over Kansas.
The Jayhawks will still find creative ways to score, so I like this game to end up in the high 60s. It wouldn’t surprise me if both teams saw close to 40 in this one.
The Pick: Kansas/Texas over 61.5 (-110) Bovada

Jalon Daniels over 1.5 Passing TDs (+120)
It makes sense that this is plus money, because this guy gets it done with his legs plenty. On Saturday in Austin, I think he will be forced to use is arm to make some plays.
Daniels had 2 Passing TDs against Illinois, and had 3 last week against BYU. On the road against Nevada, he did not have any, but KU led most of that game.
In this contest, I expect Kansas to be trailing Texas for most of the game, thus giving Daniels more attempts in the air.
We know the Jayhawks can score points, they struggle on defense, and Texas can simply score at will.
Going along with the over, Daniels should have 2 TDs in the air on Saturday, and I’m willing to bet on it for this price.
Jonathon Brooks over 89.5 Rushing Yards (-115) Bovada
I have a feeling the Texas Longhorns will feed this man on Saturday.
Now, the Jayhawks defense is only allowing 99 rushing yards per game this year, but they’ve dominated most games, forcing teams to abandon the run.
That will not be the case on Saturday.
Brooks has cleared this number in two straight games, going for 100+ in each and 164 against Wyoming.
He’s averaged 19.5 carries the past two games, and has rushes of 61 and 40 yards in those contests. The Longhorns have been dominating, and they’ve been letting this guy pound it on the ground.
Last year against Kansas, Brooks has 11 carries for 108 yards, and busted one off for a 70 yard touchdown.
With Bovada hanging a number two yards lower than the market, I’ll book this there and hope for a no sweat winner.
