After their stunning Week 0 victory over #10 Florida State in Dublin, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have made a significant statement. Could this be the start of an ACC title run, or will Georgia State bring them back to reality after such a massive win? Only time will tell.
Let’s dive into this game.

The Stank:
Letdown City, USA
After last week’s stunning upset over #10 Florida State in Dublin, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets return home to face the Georgia State Panthers. The Jackets are favored by three touchdowns, but I’m backing the Panthers to cover. That win over Florida State was one of the biggest shocks of the college football season.

The Panthers will be led by either former Georgia Tech quarterback Zach Gibson, who made three starts in 2022 and threw for nearly 600 yards, or former Pitt quarterback Christian Veilleux, who passed for 1,179 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023.
Despite losing star running back Marcus Carroll to Missouri, Georgia State still has promising talent in CJ Beasley, who impressed with Coastal Carolina and is expected to make a significant impact. On defense, look for a strong secondary and a formidable pass rush led by Justin Abraham, expected to lead the team in tackles.
Given Georgia Tech’s potential letdown after their big win, I’m confident the Panthers can keep this game closer than the spread suggests. Three touchdowns seems excessive, and the Yellow Jackets may be overvalued.
Prediction: Georgia Tech Wins
