As incredible as Georgia’s defense has been, the offense also deserves some credit, especially with starting QB JT Daniels not always available. Daniels looks like a future first-round pick, but reserve QB Stetson Bennett has more TD passes in much fewer attempts this season. This isn’t an offense that is on par with the likes of Alabama, but when you are never playing from behind, you can be patient and strike without warning.

That never losing thing is thanks to the best defense in college football. Georgia has shutout its last two opponents, and both were SEC foes. This group is both elite and experienced and is a great defense in the simplest of ways. They just stop you. They turn you over too, but most of all they just prevent you from moving the ball.

The Other Bo at Auburn

This is one of the oldest rivalries in college football, but for Auburn to have any chance they are going to need a lot from lightning rod QB Bo Nix. After getting benched against Georgia State, Nix had one of his best games of the season in a win at LSU last week. Nix has skills, but you always feel like the next mistake is coming, not the next big play. Auburn tries to take the pressure off with a backfield loaded with NFL-caliber talent. That group will definitely test that scary Georgia defense. To win they need to run the ball.

Auburn is able to play some good defense too, but it will help their defense a lot if they can keep the ball on offense a little. One of the underrated aspects of this Georgia team is that they wear down defenses because their own defense gives them so many opportunities. Auburn needs to not play into that to have a chance in this one.

For starters I do think Auburn is capable of beating Georgia. They might be able to draw them into a defensive slugfest where just one missed tackle or special teams mistake gets them the win. I just don’t think that scenario is very likely. Auburn might score more than the other SEC teams that Georgia has faced, but that is a relatively low bar. They will scrap and try and trick them a little, but it just won’t be enough.
