Coastal Carolina pulled off a surprising win over App State last week, but now they face a much tougher challenge in Marshall. The Thundering Herd are rolling, coming off a dominant 35-point win and riding a strong stretch of form. With Coastal coming off a celebration over a struggling App State, this could be a major letdown spot—don’t miss the chance to fade the Chanticleers here.

Coastal Carolina vs Marshall Bet
Let’s dive in. Last week, Coastal Carolina pulled off an upset over App State as 2.5-point underdogs. After the game, Chanticleer fans stormed the field, celebrating their first win in over three weeks—against a team that would go on to drop to 4-5 after that loss. It’s clear college kids don’t know when to storm the field anymore. They’re doing it at the most trivial times, like after a win against a team that’s been struggling, especially when your own squad had just dropped three straight games by a combined 56 points. It’s a stain on the tradition of storming the field after a true upset.
Now, Coastal Carolina has to pack up and head to Marshall to face a Thundering Herd team coming off a dominant 35-point win over Southern Miss. Marshall’s been rolling lately, winning four of their last five games and going 3-1-1 against the spread. Coastal hasn’t really played anyone worth mentioning this season, so stats are essentially irrelevant. At least Marshall has faced a serious opponent like Ohio State in Week 3, losing by 35 to a top-five team in the country.
If beating App State was such a big deal for Coastal Carolina, imagine how much more this game means for Marshall, who enters as nearly double-digit favorites. The Herd handed App State a 52-37 loss on October 5th, and with the momentum they’re carrying, expect a major letdown from the Chanticleers on Saturday afternoon.
Bet: Marshall (-8.5) on BetOnline
