The Pop-Tarts Bowl is taking place down in Orlando as the Kansas State Wildcats take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack!
Wildcat’s QB Will Howard will not be playing as he has entered the portal and committed to USC, so we will get to see true freshman, Avery Johnson command the K-State offense.
On the other side of things, the Wolfpack are excited that Grayson McCall will be joining them next season, but this is one last ride for Brennan Armstrong to lead NC State to victory.
We get a couple of run-heavy Quarterbacks in this game, so let’s break it down!

This kid is getting the green light to run the offense, and I think we see him show out tonight.
Johnson only scored in 2 of the 7 games he played in this year, but he still had 6 rushing Touchdowns. Johnson had 5 TDs against Texas Tech this year, and using his legs to make plays is right up his alley.
Despite averaging just 31 yards on 6.3 attempts this season, Johnson has busted out a 15+ yard run in 3 separate contests. I think they run the ball plenty against this rushing defense that allowed 6.2 yards per attempt last time they took the field.
Give me Johnson to sneak on in on this Wildcat’s ground attack.
Brennan Armstrong Anytime Touchdown (+179) Get These Odds @ BetOnline
Yes, we are getting cheeky and taking both QBs to use their legs and find the end zone. Armstrong is a run first QB, who leads the Wolfpack in Rushing Yards and Attempts this season.
He has scored in 4 of 11 games this season, but has posted 2 TDs twice, including two games ago. He averages close to 50 yards on over 11 attempts this season, plus the Wildcats Defense allows over 5 yards per rush this season.
That number jumps to 5.8 in their L3 games, and 11.2 yards per rush allowed in their last game against Iowa State.
I’ll take a stab at NC State’s leading rusher to find the end zone at almost 2 to 1 odds, especially when I expect this entire game to be focused on the ground work.
