The Georgia Bulldogs take on the Florida State Seminoles, and let’s be honest, neither team wants to play in this Orange Bowl.
Both teams probably believe they deserve to be in the College Football Playoff, and to be honest, I sort of agree with FSU.
Ultimately, I think they got screwed, but that is the past, and this game is the present.
Let’s breakdown this game!

The Orange Bowl Breakdown – Georgia vs Florida State
This is a tough game to get a read on. You have a very motivated Florida State team, that may want to prove to everyone while they belong, or they will have lost all hope and think they have nothing to play for.
The way the line is moving, Vegas thinks Georgia is going to roll. The line opened at +14.5 and has steamed up all the way to almost three touchdowns.
But how motivated can Georgia be?
They were near perfect all year, but dropped the biggest game of their season to Alabama in the SEC Championship game.
Now, I believe you can make a case for both of these teams to be in the CFP.
If you wanted the “four most deserving” teams, you take out Bama and throw in an undefeated ACC Champion. If you wanted the “four best” teams, you take out Washington and throw in the Bulldogs, because I believe all four teams (Michigan, Texas, Alabama and Georgia) would be favored over Washington in a neutral site game.
Nevertheless, here we are.

Let’s Recap! Betting on Georgia vs Florida State
- My analysis leans towards taking Florida State to cover the +20.5-point spread against Georgia.
- Both teams have strong motivations despite missing out on the College Football Playoff, with Florida State potentially entering this game with a chip on their shoulder, looking to prove themselves.
- The line movement started at +14.5 and has since shifted significantly in favor of Georgia, indicating a high level of confidence in their performance.
- Despite Georgia’s strength, I anticipate a competitive game where Florida State is capable of keeping the score within the spread.
- Personally, I’m waiting for a potential line shift to +21 before placing my bet, but I’m also prepared to take +20.5 if the line remains unchanged by kickoff.
