I’ll lay a little juice and back the Dukes on the ML against Air Force.
Air Force is one of the biggest running teams in the nation. They have 3,309 Rushing Yards this year, compared to just 1,060 in the air. They run the ball over 54 times per game, and pass it just around 8, but this James Madison front 7 is no joke.
JMU leads the nation in rushing yards allowed, giving up just 61.5 yards on the ground per contest. They are 2nd in yards per attempt, allowing just 2.1 yards per carry on the season.
I’ve got to side with the defense in this game, especially as the Dukes have been near perfect every year.
Air Force won their first 8 games of the season, and has since lost four straight, losing by an average of 11.5 points.
James Madison should be fired up for this bowl game, and I believe they are far too explosive for the Falcons to keep pace.
Las Vegas Bowl
Utah vs Northwestern
Matchup Information
- Venue & Location: Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas, NV)
- Date: Saturday, December 23rd, 2023
- Kick Off: 7:30pm Eastern
- Broadcast: ABC
The Pick: Utah ML/Under 40.5 (+175) Get These Odds and a Deposit Bonus @ Bovada
I’m going with a little two team parlay to get some bang for my buck in this game. I trust Utah to win this game outright, but I do think it stays low scoring, making me a little nervous about taking the -6.5.
However, neither of these offenses score more than 24 points per game, ranking 83rd and 93rd in the FBS. Defensively, these teams are very solid.
Neither team allows more than 24 points as well, with Utah giving up just 20.9, and 14.5 in home games.
This game isn’t a home game for Utah, but Vegas is much more manageable for Ute fans than it is for the Wildcats of Northwestern. I really like the Utes defense to come to play, shutting down their opponent, and building some momentum going into the offseason.
Cam Rising will be returning for the Utes, so morale is high, and they will look to get even better after not performing as they’d hoped this season.
Give me the Utes to dominate the defense, and win this game 21-14.
