Last week, Arkansas and Ole Miss took on the two best teams in college football, and it didn’t work out too well for either team. Both lost handily, as Arkansas was shut out by Georgia and Ole Miss was blown out at Alabama. Many predicted that the Rebels could test or even beat Alabama, but the Crimson Tide rolled at home.
But while Arkansas and Ole Miss may have been knocked down a peg or two by college football powerhouses, the winner of today’s game in Oxford can still contend for a New Year’s Six bowl.
Last weekend’s results speak for themselves, but these are still two teams that are on the rise in the SEC. Which one will come out on top this afternoon?

Arkansas Razorbacks vs Ole Miss Rebels Betting Outlook
The spread on last week’s game against Georgia was a big one, so it was no surprise that Arkansas lost last week. It was the way it happened that took all of the air out of the balloon. They were never really in the game, trailing 21-0 at the end of the first quarter on the way to losing 37-0.
The offense just never got anything going against one of the best defensive teams in college football. Now is their chance to rebound and show the college football world that wins over Texas and Texas A&M were not flukes. This is a big spot for the program.
In those wins the defense was just as impressive as the offense. They were not overwhelmed by Georgia’s offense last week, but once the game got out of control the stop unit was not able to make any game-changing plays. It does not get any easier this week against Ole Miss. The Rebels have one of the best offenses in the country, and being stopped by Alabama last week doesn’t mean that Arkansas will.
Ole Miss Needs to Refocus Quickly
Any chance Ole Miss might have had to put Alabama on alert was very quickly extinguished, and by the time the Rebels did put points on the board, the game was already a wrap. They ultimately scored 21 points, but they were down 35-0 in the third quarter when they finally got on the scoreboard.
It was not turnovers that really did in the Rebels, as they lost just one fumble. But they could not run the ball against Alabama and even though QB Matt Corral completed a high percentage of his passes, it wasn’t enough. I feel comfortable saying that they will be out to prove a point in this game. Especially on offense.
The defense has something to prove as well, though they aren’t the first–and won’t be the last–team that Alabama’s offense put away ruthlessly. But defense is the Rebels’ weak spot, and that showed against the Tide. Ole Miss has to hope that their offense puts enough pressure on the Razorbacks to force them into some difficult situations. But can they make stops in critical situations? It’s hard to have confidence in them to do so.

Arkansas Razorbacks vs Ole Miss Rebels Best Bet
Over 66.5
Both of these teams came in under last week and I am hoping that dragged down the total a little. For Ole Miss, I think they are going to be on a mission to score as many points as possible and even though the Hogs are good on defense they are in for their stiffest test of the season. Arkansas will score some points againt the Rebels for sure too As long as they get into the high 20s I feel pretty comfortable with this one.
Arkansas vs Ole Miss College Football Score Prediction
Ole Miss 45, Arkansas 33
